Highly disappointed with Hotel Cervantes. I was not expecting anything fancy or 5 star service, but this hotel left lots to be desired. Pros: Price Central location Spacious public areas nicely decorated, comfortable & clean Cons: Unfriendly and unprofessional staff. They acted as if checking you in was a favor rather than their job. I had pre-paid & when I... More

We stayed here while on a tour with Superior Tours Vallarta, which is reviewed elsewhere on Trip Advisor. I read reviews before going and requested the 5th floor not near the elevator nor overlooking the alley. I made these requests directly with the hotel. Our requests were made. However, as reported elsewhere this hotel needs upgrading to the 21st century... More

This Hotel in centrally located and very convenient. The rooms are simple yet well maintained and very affordable. Wifi does not seem to have a strong signal during many of my visits but it works and its free. The staff at the front desk is always happy to welcome me back and is very attentive to my needs and desires.... More

We stayed here 2 nights as part of a weekend tour of Guadalajara with Superior Tours of Puerto Vallarta. They chose this hotel as a starting point for the walking tour of the historic part of Guadalajara. It is actually a good 20-30 minute walk from the hotel to the old part of the city where all the squares, churches,... More

Hotel Cervantes is well-located in the middle of Guadalajara’s historic center, an easy walk from the cathedral and all the main cultural attractions. And it’s probably quite cheap – I don’t know because we were there as part of a tour package. But I wouldn’t dream of staying there again. First, the rooms have just the absolute necessities: bed, bathroom,... More

Stayed at this hotel last weekend as part of a tour from P.V. This hotel is in desperate need of a major renovation. The worst was the bathroom which was full of mold around the tub and ceiling and rust in the tub and on the floor which was uneven probably due to water leakage. The beds were ok but... More

We stayed in this hotel on a package tour from P.V. and found it needing a re-do. One can see that it was once a grand hotel, but now needs a work-over. **Negatives include the following: -Although the shower worked, the tub and fixture were in bad disrepair, -A.C. was noisy, blowing some air, but did not provide any cooling,... I wandered into this place with a gracious staff, nice acconmodations at a reasonable price that included an indoor pool, restaurant/bar and underground parking. I will definitely go back and tell everyone I know that this is luxury on a budget.

Can't beat the location, close to the cathedral and plazas . Good breakfast and selection, but note, that starting at 7 likely means 7:30. The room was ok, but our bathroom could have used an update. Few Internet a plus
