I stayed at this hotel one night and really enjoyed it. I got the smallest room. Small but it even has an sony lcd tv, your own safe and basically everything you need. Good and comfortable. I had dinner in their restaurant and the people were extremely polite and the food was excellent. Close to plaza del sol shopping center. You also get free wifi and they have a business center with computers on the second floor.

I chose this hotel for it's proximity to Plaza del Sol, the good reviews I read, and the price. I was not disappointed. Plaza del Sol is a few blocks away or 40 pesos for a taxi. The hotel has a private driver who is friendly, professional and charges a reasonable price. I was impressed with the super friendly staff, I'll definitely return.

It’s a really old hotel. Though the staff is really nice, the hotel isn’t. The rooms are cold and dark, and the images shown here aren’t like the hotel really is. It is located in a really noisy street.

The hotel had cockroaches. We asked to move to another room, and the other room smell so bad. We spoke to the manager and she couldn't do anything about it because the other rooms were occupied, then, the toilet was clogged and it took them several hours to help us. What type of hotel is this.

Booked this hotel as last-minute accommodation, only about 35 USD for one night, two people. The hotel is easy to find, located near a major shopping centre called Plaza del Sol. The room was very large, didn't feel cramped at all. Unfortunately the toilet was inoperable, there was almost no pressure during flushing and it took 15-20 flushes over a period of hours to get things to go down. WiFi was reliable.

The room had very thin walls and windows, and the walkway in front of the room was heavily trafficked, leading to me waking up in the middle of the night at least three times after hearing loud footsteps, voices, or sounds of luggage rolling past.

Luggage was stored for free upon departure, late check out time of 13:00. Agreeable staff and would stay again, although next time I'd be more insistent on having a working toilet.

We visited the hotel in November 7th, 2016, we were very hungry and asked if they had room service and they said yes, when we try to make an order they told us, that restaurant was closed. We told them that we wanted to leave and they didn't reimburse our money. We left any ways. It was awful.

Response from ArturoLunaR, Director de Relaciones con Clientes at Hotel Puerta Del Sol
Responded 3 Feb 2017

This 4 star hotel is not at all 4 stars. The garden is lovely with well kept pool... Outside it is all nice but the rooms are tiny and uncomfortable. The rooms have NO fridge so if you want to keep some cool drinks you cannot do it. The tv is placed on top of a wardrobe, which makes it hard to watch. Bathroom is simple with shower. I rate it 2 stars / b+bs are better! Rooms are not soundproof and if you are unlucky to be close to the boiler, everytime hot water is needed, you wake up!

I went to Guadalajara, and I stayed in hotel Puerta del Sol with my family for five days. First the hotel has WIFi, but it does not work every day. You have to call to front desk and report that WiFi is down. Then they reset the router, and it works again. About the nights, beside the hotel there is a soccer camp, and they usually play until 10 or 11pm, so you can not sleep as well as you want. When I got to the hotel I payed for five nights, and they made the charge to my CC. Finally I stayed for four night, and I asked for that money. They told me !Sorry we can not make a credit to your card or refund that money!, they pushed me to make some consumptions in their restaurant and laundry. My advise to you is that pay at the end of your stay.
Finally, I asked for manager to talk about my case, but they didn't do anything about it.

It is an option for the plaza del sol and expo area, but not the best.

I stayed in the queen room, the room is a bit small but well organized. Beds are very comfortable. I stayed for two weeks and was very pleased with the staff. They are very friendly and always eager to help. The food in the restaurant and valet parking are very good. The location is very ideal because it's close to a Main Street and easy to navigate from. I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone that is looking for a good nights rest and friendly service.
