The building has a lot of potential, but it really needs help. Our room did not have hot water. The water pressure was so slow we ended up not being able to take showers. We asked for a better room but it never happened. We ended up moving hotels. The rooms advertised in Hotels.com were not what we had or...

This is the oldest hotel in Guadalajara and it is located just a block from the Cathedral and all the sights in the Centro. The Tapatio buses for tours around the city and to Tlaquepaque and Tonalá board on the side of the Cathedral. My friend and I reserved a two bed room. I was amazed when we entered and...

This was hotel definitely has that historic feeling. There were some aspects where it felt a little cheap (the lobby and small living room chairs) but that can be overlooked. The view is just beautiful and its right in the middle of everything so walking around is easy peasy.

The room I had at Hotel Frances was very spacious with that old world charm. It is important you take into account the lack of AC so travel in the spring or cooler months of the year. The hotel was centrally located to many great restaurants and the San Juan market which boasts many things at great prices. I would...

Hotel Frances is a good choice of you looking for the nostalgic feel and romance of yesteryear. This is a vintage, and near authentic experience to be enjoyed. Understated elegance in the naturally lit main interior courtyard true to the period. Ride the vintage elevator up just to experience it. Relaxing main lounge area includes a restaurant and bar with...

Hotel Frances was build in the 1600's and is still maintained to serve guests. The elevator is slow, but works and the views from the rooftop are beautiful. We are staying here two different times on our trip. The lobby has had live music both nights so far, but we have been so tired from our exploring the city we...

Opened in 1610, the Hotel Frances still retains the grandeur of old Mexico. If you enjoy older hotels with modern-day comforts and excellent service, perfectly located in the historic center, I highly recommend this place.

If you want a clean, simple place to stay in the Centro Historico of Guadalajara, this is a good choice. It is old with few amenities, it has good wifi, and a restaurant located on the premises. It's close to everything downtown.

The Hotel Frances is located right down next to the Cathedral of Guadalajara in the historic district! We stayed on the 3rd floor that is the top level of an magnificent 400 year old structure which has a nice view of the surrounding area. The beds were very comfortable and it may have last been renovated in the 1950's, but...

This is by far the noisiest place I have stayed at. The hotel is very beautifull. Well worth a visit. And the lobby has great drinks. And live music. That however is the core of the problem. All rooms have shuttered windows to the central area of the hotel. The hotel being 200 years old, you hear every sound, everywhere!...
