Hotel itself is located right in the Center but away from noise of the Center. It is decorated in a modern style with loads of modern art displayed in the lobby ( at the time of visit). Reception , concierge and breakfast waitresses are very friendly, attentive and happy to help. Housekeeping service is consistent and good ( trust me a luxury for some other hotels in Mexico). Room has everything you need including good aircon, modern style decor, WiFi ( though not a great signal / bandwidth which seems to be a thing in Mexico), safe deposit box , tea/coffee maker. This hotel was genuinely better than any chained hotels we stayed in before .

We arrived very early in the morning, and the hotel was kind enough to store our luggage and get a room ready for us by noon, free of charge. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Very much appreciated the black out mechanical curtains. no issues with this stay whatsoever. The hotel is a few short blocks from the Cathedral, so it was very convenient to the sites and restaurant, but just far enough away that it was not noisy.

This hotel is new and close to the historic center and Cathedral. There is a noisy street in the front so ask for a room facing the side or inside. The room was clean and comfortable but there is a flaw in the design of the hotel. The doors to the rooms slam very loudly and since the people across the hall came in and out numerous times it was hard to sleep. There is no free breakfast but there is a restaurant with a paid buffet. Daniel, the concierge, was very helpful in giving us information and obtaining bus tickets to Guanajuato.

The first room they gave us was right above the bar. There was loud thumping all evening and late into the night. They said there were no other rooms available and it would be over at 11pm but it wasn't.

They have bright purple lights shining up to light up the hotel at night but they come right into your room. Since the blind is very thin it is very bright and it makes it hard to sleep.

With the noise, the bright light, and the air conditioner failing, it was hard to sleep.

I paid for a "room with a view" but that was just of a parking lot. The next day we were able to move to another room to try to get away from the noise but it was an internal room with only a window facing the lobby! The lobby had bright yellow lights which caused a similar problem with the thin blinds.

The walls are very thin - we could hear people adjusting their air conditioners and their cell phones beeping, conversations, and TV.

I live in a big city next to a train so I'm used to city noise but I shouldn't be hearing everything going on next door in a hotel.

The showers look nice and modern with no door, however the walls are too short so water sprays all over the bathroom.

The Wi-Fi was incredibly slow WiFi. 0.5Mbps (advertised as 2Mbps). You can pay more for 5 or 10Mbps but that is a joke. My cell phone is 3x faster than their fastest option. This is not really Wi-Fi in 2020!

Definitely won't be staying there again.

Hi Werdnasf, on behalf of the team, we would like to thank you for leaving us a comment. We are sorry that your stay with us has not been so pleasant, in all our rooms we have full light curtains, about our rooms with ‘‘good view ’’ are through availability. About the parking lot that is the building Mulbar, project of the architect and engineer Alejandro Zohn, we are sorry that you did not like it. We do have different WIFI services: FREE, PREMIUM and VIP, so its speed depends on the acquired service. But every time that our guest face any kind of situation, we will always be willing to help them if you notify us. We will take actions after your comments in order to improve. Best regards!

I have stayed here before and enjoyed the stay and service. Covid has changed things. During the check in they wanted my credit card I used during booking. During the trip down to GDL a money belt was used. I excused my self to the room next to the lobby to retrieve credit card. This took less than 2 minutes. After returning to the desk a new line had formed and had two wait in line of 3 people deep. During check in they split the 2 nights booked into 2, 1 night. Stays this increased paper work and confusion even thought it was booked with one reservation code. After checking and unpacking had dropped about $100 USD in Mexico pesos when getting my credit card. I was told multiple times they would look at security cameras but they never did. Most likely person who cut in line in front of me during check in found it. Last night they were doing construction of room next door along with moping the floor with very loud music going for several hours. I thought it was a guest but hotel staff. About 12:30 am in the morning I had informed the front desk. About 30 minutes later the equipment and music stopped. I had a early morning flight. I would not stay here again because of difficulty at check in, construction in the middle of the night, and loud music by staff.

After a long trip, the next day we were woken up by the lobby staff informing us that the will be charging us for one more person. We did not have and additional person and the lobby attendant said that because we requested more towels that was an indication of the extra person. I was pretty upset about being awaken and accused of this.
The next day we decided to check out and they locked us out of our room not able to retrieve our belongings. The lobby attendants lied stated that they asked, and did not accused me of this. We had to find another hotel. Overall my worst experience in a hotel so far.

I just returned from a 5 day stay in Guadalajara and enjoyed the professionalism and care provided by the hotel Real Maestranza/. The staff is surpurlative, Christopher Hernandez, is one of the most competant and pleasent concierges I have ever met. The front desk staff, the housekeeping staff and the servers in the restaurant are all welcoming, friendly and help ensure a wonderful stay. The rooms are clean and effecient and have some of the most comfortable beds in any hotel I have stayed in. The hotels location makes walking to all of the major sites in the historic center easy and the concierge will arrange a driver to take you anyplace you need to go. The hotel is an excellent choice for a stay in Guadalajara!

This is an excellent boutique hotel centrally located in the city - walking distance to the historical centre, market, restaurants etc. Concierge (Victor) service was excellent, and room 314 was clean, spacious, peaceful and quiet. Recommend staying here - hope to come back here and visit beautiful Guadalajara again.

The location was perfect! It is located near a lot of the main tourist attractions. La Avenida Chapultepec is only a 10/15 minute cab ride away. The customer service was amazing! Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. They have drivers who work for the hotel and whenever I was ready to go hang out at night, a staff member would contact a driver. If they didn't have any drivers available, he would call a taxi and would confirm the price with me so that I could make sure that the taxi drivers weren't trying to get over on me.

As far as the room, everything was almost perfect. I had a hard time getting out of the bed in the morning because it was so comfortable. I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud!

The negatives: The bathroom was nice, but super small and they layout was made some things a bit awkward. I didn't like the fact that the shower did not have a door. Also, I think they were running low on wash clothes for whatever reason.

Overall, great experience and I would stay here again!

I am staying at RMZ since years. I was never disappointed with service, politeness and behavior of staff. They are all very helpful. The concierge is placed very central and always manage even tiny problems on behalf of the guests. The hotel area is very central and safe. Each floor has his own characteristics. The rooms are big and bright. The beds are clean and comfortable. The bathroom is spacy and modern. The breakfast has a big variety for a reasonable price and is very tasty. I can only recommend this hotel, which is one of the best in town.

I’d suggest Uber, it’s easy, cheap and very popular here. To my knowledge the hotel also has a concierge, so if you give them a call they should be able to arrange pickup
