On Playa La Ropa (reportedly one of the best beaches in Zihuatanejo for playing in the waves), this little hotel offers it all for families that want to play in the pool and have direct beach access. The staff was friendly. The food in the restaurant was very good. There were many nationals vacationing here and we enjoyed that. It... More

When you pull up to the front of Hotel Villa Mexicana you will know you are in the real Mexico. You wont pass any fast food restaurants or major hotel chains here. Of course, you will experiance first class accomadations. You will be quickly booked into the hotel by the friendly staff, then taken to your room. Most of the... More

So happy that we decided to book this hotel. Be aware that for all hotels on "Madera Beach" you have to climb stairs to get to the beach. Not only on the famous "La Ropa Beach" but in all of Zihuatanejo the Villa Mexiana is the ONLY affordable option at a reasonable price with good quality that is directly on... More

On a recent motorcycle trip throughout Mexico my partner and I decided we need to get away from the low rent hotels and get into a nice place and relax. This hotel filled the bill completely. Great location and friendly staff. Our room opened onto the pool and had all the amenities one would expect. My wife and I will... More

Checked in on 4/7 @ 3:00 pm and checked out on 4/8 @ 8:00 am. The room was basic and clean but okay for a one night stay. Restaurant was awesome for both dinner and breakfast. Gave them an average rating at check out. But when we were waiting for taxi to go to the airport and the front desk... More

Spent 4 nights here after 15 years visiting in the Zihua/Ixtapa area. Knew about this spot beacause of the reataurant next door, Paty's. We decided to give the Villas a try. Two adults and one child. The rooms were clean, everything worked, the check-in had no drama. But there were a few "quirky" things you should know. One, three people... More

Had another great stay at the Villa Mexicana. This was a realitively short trip - just staying 4 nights but we enjoyed it just as much as the last time. Our package included breakfast every morning which was great since their menu is quite extensive. We ate dinner one night at our hotel and it was wonderful. I had the... More

We stay 6 days at the end of december 2012. The location of the hotel is super, with a directly acces to the beach. The rooms are basic and clean, but with a vue like this is the balcony more important. If you can, ask a room with balcony. The service was very good, everybody try to do the best... More

Skeptical at first, only because I heard that you may not get the room you request, and being the 'brat' I am, I have to have my Oceanfront/King bed room or I am not satisfied and will not settle into a room until it is exactly what I want, I was hesitant on staying at VM. However, I have always... More

Nice small place, better than the giant resorts. Friendly staff. Hotel sits on a beautiful beach with a view of the fishing fleet. Only stayed one night but I'd love to spend a week there.
