In the mornings I can hear parrots flying over the house squawking as their wings flap. Geckos slither across the floor or walls and I'm reminded not to leave food out on the table. Fruit bats cling to my doorway arches to the balcony. This is their habitat too. Sometimes I am awakened still by the sound of the river...

I found the House of Wind and Water which is way off the tourist path up in the hills of PV, I wanted a true Mexican experience. managed to use the local buses to get back and forth to town, 7 1/2 pesos (bus#4...Paso del Guaybo) take it...

Wrapping up a month here at Wind & Water where I came to be close to nature, read, paint and recooperate. There are the sounds of the rushing river below, wild parrots, and children playing throughout the day, softly melding into quiet nights with occasional roosters crowing when the dogs bark. But I haven't used ear plugs yet. Town is...

This truly was the escape my husband and I needed. We spent a week in November 2012 at House of Wind and Water, which is situated in a traditional colonia away from the touristy hubbub of Puerto Vallarta. Although the jungle setting feels worlds away, it's only a 15-20 minute bus ride to downtown and beach (for only about 50...

Perhaps the greatest thing about the House of Wind & Water is Kathleen herself - a talented and accomplished artist and an inspiration to students at any level. I attended a painting workshop with friends which means the days were filled with intense study but also with moments of anticipation, exciting new flavors and the joy of observing local color....
