I am going to preface this by saying that Amaca Hotel was listed as a 3 star property so I had already set my expectations that it would be basic in furnishings, little to no amenities, and possibly noisy (thin walls foot traffic, etc.). I normally stay in Airbnb rentals in Puerto Vallarta but I booked late, felt I would... More

Hola...for 5 years I have stayed at Amaca...I have been treated like a member of the family. I have just booked a flight to PV and I will be looking forward to spending Christmas at Amaca. The location is fantastic and full of Mexican charm. The staff have treated me like one of the family......another reason I return every year... More

Reserved through Hotwire as a "hidden value" 3.5 star hotel but there are hotels in Vallarta for $20 a night that have their act together infinitely better than this disastrous placel. It would take a couple of full-sized pages to list everything wrong, but for starters: 1. No towel racks, no water pressure, bathroom in our first room smelled like... More

It is very basic! We were very disappointed because Expedia sold it to us as a 3.5 star. Maybe a 2. We put the do not disturb sign up while we were out. Only there 2 nights and we didn't want maid service. Maid came in made bed and my perfume disappeared. ?? Wifi only works down by the front... More

I'll start by saying we are both big hammock fans and chose the hotel base on that alone. Also we are not insistent on elegant new surroundings. This is an older hotel, unpretentious but clean with firm beds There are some fairly major steps up from the beach but what better way to burn off some of that great Mexican... More

I was a little nervous about staying here since we got it for such a low price. But when we arrived at this hotel that is tucked between two tall condo/hotel buildings, I was very surprised with how nice it is. Our room was bright, spacious and clean and the staff was attentive and friendly. HOWEVER... our room had no... More

First, I will start with the positives: great location in Old Puerto Vallarta next to Playa de Los Muertos and sweeping views of the mountains. However, the room was in complete disrepair! Ants crawling in the bathroom, a couple of spiders and to top all this off, I asked for a late checkout since I had checked in at midnight... More

My stay was prepaid. I arrived late at night. What I found were no deadbolts on doors. Mold in shower stall. Towels thin, old and dingy. Stale odor. I had them show me 3 rooms before I settled in one. I moved out the following day. When Expedia called to confirm my exit for my refund they lied and denied... More

This is a quiet hotel with very interesting architecture. The staff were very helpful to us. There are beautiful rooms in the hotel with a great view. Our only comment was that it was a bit difficult to find as Pino Suarez is kind of separated and the Amaca is off a side street. I am sure the pool is... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for seven days and it was pretty cheap so we expected some things to go wrong. Pros: location, location, great staff and customer service. Cons: poor wifi, closed pool, a half day with no water or electricity. This place will not be our first choice when returning to PV but we will consider it... More
