We stayed at the El Cid Castilla for 1 week from the 3rd of March to the 10th. I have to say it was a wonderful place staffed with awesome people. I need to mention Vanessa. She is a server at the pool side bar and sometimes on the beach too. She took care of my wife and I the...

Did not stay all-inclusive. Lots of restaurants nearby in Golden Zone. Was there during Carnival (Feb 22 - 28. Very noisy on the beach with competing Banda (bands with tubas, trumpets, etc), but beach itself was great. However, it was jellyfish season along the coast which limited swimming. Pulmonias and taxis in the Golden Zone plentiful, so is easy to...

This is the second year in a row that we have stayed at El Cid Castilla and we were very happy with the resort. It is in an excellent location. It is right on the beach, close to restaurants, and shopping. If you want to go to the downtown area or somewhere else, the public transportation is readily available. The...

Nice hotel located centrally in the Gold Zone. Close to shopping, restaurants and walking off the resort. The El Cid is an older hotel, dated but clean. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Luis at front desk went out of his way to help us. Housekeeping staff were very friendly and humble. If you don't want to travel on the...

This was our first trip to Mazatlan and to an all inclusive. We had a good time. The food was ok at all the buffets. Learned the first day that you need to go out early and save your spots at the pool or out at the ocean. Bring lots of dollars for tipping. Employees were very friendly and the...

The food is what made the trip for me. We were able to eat in the a la carte restaurants for every dinner. Lunch and breakfast were in buffet. Breakfast has made to order eggs, crepes and waffles. Lunch was usually a large plate of veggies and either chicken or fish from buffet. I am not a big buffet fan...

Older resort that was being updated while we were there. Rooms on our floor were being painted, floors polished and linens replaced. There are no pictures on the walls nor hooks in the bathroom. It was overall nice, but we would rate it maybe 2 1/2 stars. It was at times dirty - drink cups in the landscaping, spilled drinks...

We just returned a couple of days ago and had a great stay. Plenty of room at the pools, good evening restaurant choices and very good service. Overall the location was close to many other restaurants and other things to do!

We stayed here in February and the place was overbooked. Pool area and beach area were always packed and there were never enough lounge chairs. Reservations at the restaurants onsite were required the day before, but they were always full so we could never get a reservation. We had all inclusive but wasn't able to utilize this because they couldn't...

El Cid Castilla has a great location and is a pretty average 3 star hotel. My daughter and I stayed non-all-inclusive and the Castilla is not really set up for that. All their restaurants (except the pool area snack bar) are flat fee so you can't just order a coffee and toast. Breakfast was 230 pesos, lunch 350 and supper...
