Nice hotel but don't stay here if you expect any company. Guests are not allowed in any part of the hotel except in the lobby near the door. No guest is allowed in your room. If you want to visit someone you have to pay anywhere from $50-$75 for the day. My son stayed there and I couldn't even visit...

I have been to Mazatlan many many times but always just on my way to my hometown which is a couple hours away. So in April 2013 I husband and I traveled to Mexico so he could meet my family and I decided to surprise him with a 3 day stay at the RIU Emerald Bay for some alone time...

Facility - Very clean, Washrooms are far from some area's such as the sports bar and some pool area's. We were there Jan. 10 to 17, and there were a lot of bee's/Hornet's. mostly around the pool/beach bar. But I do mean a lot of bee's Food - Buffet was good, cannot complain, by day 3/4 tasted the same but...

My husband and I just returned, from 7 glorious days, at The Riu Emerald Bay. Jan 10-17 2014. It was a first for both of us to Mazatlan. I really have nothing negative to say about our stay. Everything was fantastic! The food, the service, the cleanliness, the staff, all top notch. All rooms of the hotel face the ocean,...

Our family of 5 (kids age 9, 6, 1) stayed here for two weeks Dec13-27, 2013. This was our 1st time in Mazatlan and our 12th all-inclusive resort experience. We flew with Sunwing which was fine, except Calgary had to fly through Vancouver on the way there and back so made for much longer travel days than necessary (7-8hrs in...

We visited this resort on December 31 2013 to January 6 2014 with my family, aunt, uncle, 2 cousins and my 13 year old niece. It was a great experience. I would not call this a 5 star resort though for a variety of reasons. The hotel is clean but the maids do not do a great job cleaning the...

My husband and I went to the RIU Emerald bay from Dec 26-Jan 1. The flight from EWR had a layover in pheonix (the lady at the US air counter said my passpport--all 67 stamps--was not in pristine condition...) and we were on the beach in Mazatlan by 3pm. The beach at this resort is absolutely ideal. It is wide...

I went here after xmas with my 2 kids. Transporation and check-in very organized. Food and service were great. Not a 5* resort really, but a 4.5 for sure and well worth the price. I have very little negative to say about this place. We had a wonderful time!! Do not hesitate to go here.

We were at this resort Dec 26, 2013 through Jan 5, 2014 and had a really great time. The hotel is clean and the staff are really attentive. It was rare to NOT see a smile. I wonder about other comments on staff and limited English. . .. we did not find that at all. They food was overall very...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Riu Mazatlan from December 31st to January 7th! We had an amazing time, the hotel is very well kept. Our room had no issues, and we stayed on the 10th floor which had a perfect ocean view. All rooms are ocean view so no need to pay extra! The beach was beautiful, and you...
