It's hard to find the words to describe the pristine, luxurious yet comfortable Villa Escondida. Four of us ventured to Huatulco for 7 days, which were filled with relaxation, adventure, tranquility, pampering and total luxury - yet, still with a feeling of home (a really, really nice home!). The home. We have rented many vacation homes, this is unlike any other. This place is like walking into a dream. From being greeted with a drink as we walked through the beautiful gate. We received a tour of the home and it was clear - not a detail has gone unnoticed here. From the décor, down to the linens and ensuites. The one side of the home, facing the ocean is JUST as depicted in the website. It's ocean and beach views - I never tired of watching the waves and was surprised at how very few people were around and quiet it is. Actually, the entire home is as depicted in their website - a nod to the owners here, as there is no false advertising... It really IS that beautiful, serene and well put together The staff and service. Delfino and the team saw to every need and WANT. We didn't lift a finger all week! From coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice on the deck in the mornings - to pina coladas by the pool, or a bucket of beer on the beach. I have the sincere impression they enjoy what they do - and it is their goal to make sure you are taken care of. I had a 'fresh' room each morning, and my bed turned down each night. You can't beat the service. Also, if we wanted to spend time on the beach - they would set up bean bag chairs, loungers and umbrellas! Again - no need was left unmet. Food. Delfino is a great and diverse cook. Knowing we like mango - he had it prepared each morning as part of breakfast (back to service!). Fresh, local produce was used (best guac and pico!) along with a dose of creativity, we were delighted at every meal... Banana bread french toast, enchiladas, soups at lunch, salads, coconut shrimp, steak... We had ZERO desire to leave the house for a meal, why would we?! Adventure & Experience. Delfino was a great concierge. Hualtulco offers many things to do and La Bocana is a place I felt safe walking around. Daily walks up the beach to the river, watching the fishermen, heading into Copalita and shopping at the market (great ice cream!) We enjoyed roof top massages in the evening... TWICE! Paulina gave us a mud bath in the yard. We also ventured off of the property a few times for some great tours. This place is nothing like my home here in Calgary, but it was so comfortable - it WAS my home away from home... With the added benefit of staff, a chef, the pool and ocean right outside your door. I will never forget this experience, or this home - and look forward to reminding myself of ALL of these great things, when I return! If I can give one tip... Pack light with many bathing suits - you won't be venturing away from this beautiful home very often!…
