This was my favorite of every place I stayed in the Baja. Clean, friendly, nice, nice staff (including my favorite Ulysses). The rooms are perfect because anyone in their right mind is not heading to that gorgeous area where the intent is to see Whale Sharks, and Gray Whales,

On our third visit to La Paz, instead of staying at the major chain hotel we did the first times, we found this little gem. Staff welcomed us like family. Rooms are Mexican and charming. Social pool with pleasant respectful guests. Incredible breakfast included. Secure parking.

Dear Guest, We are SOOOO glad you veered away from a chain hotel and choose a family, locally run hotel instead! Ideally this is how everyone should travel....You were able to identify all the qualities that make our hotel so unique and special in only a few words. We appreciate you mentioning our welcoming staff, charming rooms and incredible breakfasts. It's also nice to know you appreciated our secure parking, roof terrace and ideal location not too close or too far from the Malecon with plenty of amenities with close walking distance! Thanks so much for choosing to stay at our locally owned and operated hotel in La Paz and for taking the time to post your review here on TA! We look forward to hosting you on your 4th and next visit to La Paz... Cheers, Mary & Ricardo

If you're taking a trip with Mar y Aventuras, staying at Posada Luna Sol makes it easy. Our rooms were comfy and clean, the staff was lovely and very helpful, the breakfasts were great and just the ease of being able to stow any gear we weren't taking on the adventure was a big

We stayed here 2 nights before our whale and kayak trip, 1 night in the middle and 1 night at the end. The three rooms we had were all on the lower floor near the pool, which is a very quiet area at night, and what I had requested since I'd recently broken a toe and the other

Dear Guest, We are definitely NOT a glamorous hotel. We would never want to create a false expectation so we don't market our hotel as glamorous, boutique OR resort-ish. Rather we market Posada LunaSol for exactly what you found it to be. We aim to meet the needs of our clients (clean, tasteful, excellent location and great service) at a good value. Just to clarify our 3 rooms on the ground level near the cafe are #15 with one double bed and two singles, #16 with two double beds and #17 with two queen beds. We do have other rooms with king beds and even triples and suites but they are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. We appreciate you mentioning our helpful staff and functional common areas. We are grateful for you choosing to travel with us on our Best of Baja trip and for taking the time to post your review here on TA. Happy Travels, Mary & Ricardo

We stayed at Posada Luna Sol for most of a week when we were there on a whale watching vacation. Overall, the hotel was great. Good service (especially Ulysses at the front desk), good security, and clean accommodation. Breakfast was okay but could have offered more variety of

Dear Guest, Thanks for choosing to stay with us in La Paz as part of your whale watching expedition! It’s nice to know you enjoyed our exceptional service (thanks Ulises!), clean and safe accommodations! I understand how the breakfast may become boring if staying more than a couple days so we can work in providing more variety. Thanks for taking the time to share your comments here on TA! Cheers, Mary & Ricardo

Do you guys offer shuttles to and from La Paz airport?
Hello, We do not offer shuttles from the La Paz airport to our office/hotel. This is a simple procedure through the Airport Union Transportation company that provides all taxi shuttles between the airport and locations in La Paz. You can purchase a ticket at a taxi kiosk (all prices are regulated) inside the airport upon exiting from picking up your luggage. Cost is about $10-20/person depending on how many are in the shuttle and where everyone is going OR if you want a private shuttle it could be more. From the airport to our hotel is about 15 minutes. We'd love to see you at our place! Good luck...

Hello, would my service dog be accepted at your place?
Hi, I am sorry to say we no longer accept dogs at our hotel, even a service dog. It's a policy we now have due to the abuse of several dog owners who were not responsible with their pets. We've had to undergo some costly renovations to undo dog destruction. Due to this abuse by several bad dog owners we no longer allow pets. I'm very sorry.... I do know the Casa Buena in La Paz accepts dogs so you can try them for your stay in La Paz.

Thanks for choosing to stay with us in La Paz. I just now received this question (maybe the last one went into spam?). Anyway both answers above are correct. Our La Paz office at Posada LunaSol can help you arrange your transport for Dec 6th. EcoBaja Tours runs shuttles to the SJD airport from La Paz. They cost about $33/person and take 3 hours. They leave at 7 and 9am. If those times don't work out our office can arrange a private shuttle as well but cost is more depending on the number of people. Just discuss this with them upon your arrival prior to your boat trip. Good luck!

"They're all very comparable I think only one or two probably don't have a great view."
"The only two rooms that have no views are rooms 4 and 16."
"Try to get a room on the second floor overlooking the pool (they're a little nicer/feel newer than the other rooms)."
"Top floor best for us"
"We stayed in three different rooms as we yo-yoed in and out of La Paz. All three rooms were excellent."
