We spent 2 weeks in this beautiful place. The pros are much more than the cons. The hotel is isolated from the city by natural barriers, if you need to get into the city, then you need to plan it (either book a boat or walk through the monkey trail). The breakfasts are very good, but with the choice for dinner we had a difficult time. Prices in the hotel are noticeably higher than in the supermarket behind the rock. But a very beautiful location, peace and quiet. The time was spent very well.
Really good resort but it would have been a 10 if the jacuzzi in our room worked properly. We stayed there for our honeymoon and it a lovely location and overall a good experience. However we got the room with with outdoor jacuzzi and we had to call maintenance both of the times we tried to use it. They jacuzzis seems to just be a little old and in need of upgrade. However the rest of our stay was really good! The breakfast was awesome had lot of options, the wifi, the gym the staff … it was all pretty good. Overall it would have been amazing if the rooms perks were in better shape.
We are currently staying at this resort and we are constantly frustrated by poor customer service. We are in the high rooms and rely on the golf buggy for taking us from and to the amenities , that’s were this hotel fails miserably . Twice we have missed the boat taxi due to no biggies available due to low battery!! There are 300 guests ( family’s with children) with not a hope of walking the steep stairs to the higher rooms but the saddest thing is the cross communication with reception staff. Your sat waiting for the transfer buggy because reception says it’s on its way , never comes, you ring again, flat battery and so on and on then 2 missed boat taxis later, very poor service. My husband had to push the biggie up the hill twice as it ran out of battery mid journey . Please consider mobility before booking, I would not book this hotel again unless the situation with the buggies were ran differently , spare charged batteries is such a simple resolution for a so called 5 star hotel!…
thanks to Aek for his kindness and welcome. the swimming pool is super pretty, very pleasant place. I recommend alone or with kids and familly you can see a great sunset and the cocktails are great !!!! Rhe rooms are very clean and conform to pictures
Returned a week ago having spent 14 nights here in room 1013, on a half board basis at this beautiful resort. I can’t believe where the negative reviews come from, our experience was so good. The resort is different to anywhere else that we have stayed before, due to it’s very special location, being approached only by shuttle boat, or the monkey trail. There are lots of birds & wildlife around the resort, if you look out for it. On the subject of the monkey trail, I turned 70 while we were there, didn’t find any problems with it at all, we used it a few times, never in the full heat of the day though. Tip, if you walk into Ao Nang, you can catch a long tail boat back for set price of 100 TBT each. Also shuttle to the pier is free, with set price on a Tuktuk into Ao nang of 150 TBT for a couple, great value & fun. All of the staff are very polite and friendly, the menu for half board is slightly different from the open menu, but is still 3 coarse plus coffee & the quality was very good. We ate mainly at the Asian restaurant in the evenings, perhaps for guests staying 2 weeks, a slightly different menu from week 1 to week 2, might be better, but if not, it certainly wouldn’t stop me returning, or from recommending friends to stay. The beach is lovely, there are a number of holiday makers from the town who walk over, to use it as it is a public beach, comment to hotel managers, it would pay to have a sign at the entrance to the resort at the trail end, saying it was for hotel guests only, as there are at the other entrances from the beach. We did observe a number of non guests walking off the beach here & having a good wander around. On 1 occasion they even had the cheek to lay there own towels on sun loungers & occupy them. Would highly recommend this resort, if you are looking to stay in this part of Thailand. The only problems we encountered were with Mercury holidays & there agents Asian trails in Thailand, to do with private transfers, to & from resort. These were sorted by the hotel receptionist’s, who were exceptionally helpful & again, a credit to the hotel.…
Excellent resort - staff were superb and facilities top class. Only downside was relative remoteness from Ao Nang - monkey trail was ok during the day but not really suitable for night time journeys. A boat service to Ao Nang itself might be worth considering
Fantastic hotel in a magical setting. Wonderful treatment by a serviceminded staff. Quiet, private and harmonious. Top class food. Nice gym. Close to Railay Beach & Ao Nang for beaches, restaurants & shopping. Thanks to Aek, Joe and all the other staff who made our holiday magical.
We travelled to Thailand for my birthday trip and booked centara grand for our Krabi stay ! This is an island property where you can access it through their personal ferry service ! Their timings are fixed and you can book the ferry according to your arrival at the pier. It’s a massive property with lots of uphill steps and walking as well . They do have a cart to transport luggage or if needed booked and used by people who have difficulty in walking Rooms : the rooms here are amazing with ocean or garden view . They have jacuzzi in certain rooms which is cherry on the cake ! The rooms are massive and maintained very well . You just have to be carefull with the monkeys at certain time ! You get to access the private beach and all the activities that they provide - kayaking is fun You can swim in the ocean or just soak in the sun on the beach - There is walking trail from resort to Krabi through monkey trails which can be done once but it’s tiring as well The cafe and restaurant on the beach is just amazing ! We spent all our evenings there listening to sounds of waves and music Food is pretty good ! We had ordered mainly Indian and vegetarian and we were not disappointed at all ! The check in and check out process should be a bit faster ! Overall truly amazing experience…
Very nice location and top quality service. The food is very delicious. Nice place to stay. The music is calm and relaxed. We loving the service from Aek and Pupae they are so politely and help u with everything u need. If u need special recommendations they will be there for u.
When we had turned up, we didn't receive a welcome reception at all. We were ignored by reception who were very cold and not smiley, and told us we had to wait 5 hours for check in (no one had warned us of this-we booked externally!), Therefore, we made our way to the pool bar in the heat and met with even more attitude and eye rolls. Refused to sit us indoors and forgot drinks, all chatting and on their phones. 5 hours later, we check in and access our pool access rooms. The rooms were stunning but had many mosquitos trapped already so we were really bitten. The rooms were also not sound proof and due to being on the ground floor, we could hear everyone walking past and hear every loud conversation through the night of partiers etc... We were really disappointed with the lack of sleep. Then, we reach breakfast... oh boy. Everything was freezing from the pastries to the 'fresh' waffles and pancakes. When I tried to warm a croissant in the toaster, a chef was not happy with me at all. Breakfast was the same every day and very very busy no matter what time we went. A bar staff named 'Dang' was a great help however and very smiley, kind, bubbly and spoke great English. Another lady with short, spiky hair was super chatty and friendly, our family loved these two bar staff. The rooms were cleaned nicely with very comfy pillows, cushions etc. Absolutely incredible location!! right on the beach and in the heart of Krabi, very safe area too. A little more water would've been fab. We would definitely come again anytime but only when the breakfast improves and in a different room with lower noises. Thank you Centara!…
