Massage is perhaps the worst in Krabi. I'm guessing this place caters mostly to the foreign customers who light massage so soft you can barely feel it. The hotel might be fine, but steer clear of this massage.
Good location : easily to connect peacful beach, monky trail on the hill and shopping area Big room facing to nice swimming pool .... rocky mountain at the back ...Wow. Recommend to stay on the 2nd floor to enjoy seaside from the balcony. Breakfast is variety and good tasted... lovely to sit outside fresh air, hearing sound of waves. Our family enjoy much during 5 days staying here...staff is friendly ....cozy atmophere. We impress so much seaside in front of the hotel ... very beautiful. Things to be developped is the quality fo towel and more staff who can speak English
Meet and greet was the worst I have experienced in my two months traveling around Thailand. Handed over the required documents and then was told check in is not till 2pm which we new and wasn’t a problem. I was told I could either go to the beach or sit around the pool, I asked where could I put my bags and was told to leave them at the entrance which is completely open air and next to the road, I then asked them if they had a secure room as I carry experience electronic equipment not only for holiday but also for work. 1 hour later and still nothing so I private messaged the hotel explains how atrocious and unprofessional there meet and greet is, not even a welcome drink. Within 3 minutes drinks were bought over and our rooms were suddenly ready. I generally would write about this however the reply I received from my private message just enhanced the lack of professionalism “check in is 14-00” and that was it, if I had not paid in full I would have left and gone to the Centara next door, excellent customer service with great facilities. Positives Beach front suite was very good with excellent views. Cleaning was excellent. Very nice pool Breakfast was adequate Staff everywhere else we all smiles and very helpful. Great position on the beach and a few minutes walk to shops/ restaurants and bars. Negatives Meet and greet Restaurant food was an absolute disaster, not cooked through and tasteless. Land up ordering 4 bits of bread as one guest had chips so we made chip butties. It’s my 3rd time in Au Nang and I will return but not to this hotel…
Arrived early at Hotel 12 pm and check in was dreadful. We were the only Guests waiting to check in. There was just one miserable surly and unhelpful female member of staff. Check in took nearly an hour. She was most unhelpful. We had to produce all of our booking documentation which is unusual as producing passports usually brings up all the necessary information on the Hotel’s systems. We realised that check in was 2 pm and we were early- however there was little communication and no offer to put our luggage somewhere secure rather than in the lobby. We were told we could go to the pool or beach until our rooms were ready at 2 pm - some 90 minutes wait. No offer of a drink or anything all during this time until we asked for something. We did however get our rooms early which was appreciated. The room was large & very nice , P123 - a circular building facing the sea. Bathroom very good with bath & shower and loads of storage surfaces. Extremely clean everywhere. Had flatscreen TV - fridge & tea & coffee making facilities. Strangely the Hotel does not have a bar as such or social area. The drinks bar is in main restaurant where breakfast is served so not really inviting and suitable for socialising. There’s an outside area with tables and chairs which is quite nice for having a drink or eating. The breakfast is adequate but nothing special. Perfectly acceptable though considering what we paid. We only tried the evening food from restaurant menu once on our last night. It was absolutely dreadful and virtually inedible. 3 of us had something, all different menu items and all were equally bad. Don’t know if we were unlucky and had a one off bad experience or if the standard of food is generally poor as it was the only time we tried it. The pool is quite large and pleasant with limited number of sun beds around it . Nice view of mountain in background. Location of Hotel is very good being opposite the sea and just minutes walk into main town area with abundance of bars & restaurants but still being quiet and peaceful. Overall a very pleasant stay but initially marred by extremely slow check in and unpleasant staff member. And our experience of the dreadful food from restaurant on our last night there also left a bad impression. It was good value for money and overall a pleasant stay.…
Absolutely a wonderful holiday for the New Year at such a beautiful property. All staff was friendly, personable, and helpful. The restaurant staff knew us on the second day, the food was fantastic (we live in Chiang Mai and know Thai food very well) and we chose to eat dinner there three nights after experiencing other restaurants in town. The rooms were spotless and well furnished, everything was provided. I cant say enough about the experience, we have agreed that we will go back as soon as we are able. We loved it!
We had booked a pool view room online and when we arrived we were upgraded to a bungalow. The bungalow rooms are very nice and spacious but unless you have one of the outside bungalows you are looking at the wall of the bungalow in front of you. We looked at 2 bungalows and both were looking at a wall. We ended up in a pool view room with a balcony because the view was much nicer. That room unfortunately was a little musty, not as clean and outdated. We had chewing gum stuck to our bathmat. It seems the bungalows are the main focus of the hotel. The location is great right next to the beach and restaurants. The pool is great and well maintained. It would be nice if it would not close at 6PM. The tour desk is very helpful and has competitive prices.
We stayed at Golden Beach Resort from 24/02 till 06/03 in Villa Garden View rooms. These rooms were spacious, cleaned every day, beds were comfortable. One of the reasons we booked this hotel is the location. It´s perfect, close to to the town, but still in a quiet area. It´s also 3 minutes from the boat pier, where u can book your trips to other islands. I recommend the most Koh Poda, Koh Hong and also Railey Beach. The breakfast in the hotel was good, everyone will find what they like. The only bad experience we had, was at the check out. We were heading to the airport but had to wait till the staff checked our rooms. After they came back they asked us about a missing towel, because they couldn´t find it in our room. It didn´t leave a good impression at the end of our stay. Otherwise we enjoyed a lot our stay at Golden Beach Resort.…
Hotel has potential to be a really great place to stay. Unfortunately there’s just too many cons that need to change to make this the best place. It wasn’t all bad so that’s why it got 2 stars instead of one. PROS: Big room- the room and bed was quite spacious and clean. Couldn’t complain here. Location- it’s right on the beach and a short stroll to where all the nightlife action takes place. The gardens and resort itself is nice and very clean. CONS: Limited tv- and it didn’t work a lot of the time. Water bottles- while I’m all for the reduce plastic scenario, glass water bottles just aren’t practical for travelling tourists. Once opened can’t be closed so you actually waste water. Perhaps a cardboard carton of water might be more practical. The pool- this is probably my biggest gripe. Pool is only opened from 8:00am-6:00pm. When you leave your accommodation and take your key with you, the power in your room gets turned off. So when you come back from being out all day your room is hot and you can’t go for a swim because pool is shut. Pool towels are only available when pool is open and must be returned the same day or you get charged. So it’s better to just buy a beach towel and use that instead of hotel pool towel. Pool staff are lazy and rude. Sorry but if pool was opened until 9;00pm and staff weren’t so rude it would be better. Restaurant and food- food is not great and expensive and you are waiting a very long time to be served, for your food or drinks. Several times I had to find someone and ask for my order to be taken. If your hungry it’s better to go somewhere else and it’s probably cheaper and a more friendlier place. Security and staff- there seems to be a lot of trust lacking. Security of the place is good but is a bit over the top. Right on 6:00pm they put up barricades to stop you from entering the pool area. It’s just not inviting or welcoming. When you arrive they take a copy of your passport and hold your credit card number but on check out they make you wait until your room is checked for any minibar. Just comes across as though you’ve done something wrong, almost like a strip search for no reason. Just like the pool towels and being charged for them if not returned the same day before 6:00pm. Overall, this place wasn’t welcoming and you always were made to feel like you weren’t welcomed or you were a bother to the people who worked here. As I said this place has the potential to be a really great place but it’s just lacking with customer services. There are other hotels on the same road (beachfront) that are in the same price range so would probably check those out before coming back to this place again if I decide to return.…
Golden Beach resort is beautiful peaceful place next to Ao Nang beach. The gardens and rooms are lovely. However a few things let it down. The WiFi is very bad even when it is working. Also breakfast is poor and they need a manager to oversea things and get it organised. Raw bacon and cold eggs are not good However if you want a good breakfast try the Poda no Hujust down the road. It is cheat and far better.
Have been at this hotel several times before, this is our favorite place in Krabi. The location is absolutely perfect, close to Ao Nang beach, a short walk to shops, longtail boats and restaurants. We have tried most kinds of rooms, and prefer the villas and jacuzzi villas. Rooms have been nice and clean, and friendly maids are cleaning them daily while we are on the beach or on a trip to somewhere. All members of the staff are extremely friendly, you are recognized and greeted with smiles all the time. Breakfast is quite ok. We have normally had our lunch and dinner in restaurants by the main road, but the hotel restaurant have a very good reputation. We look forward to return to Golden Beach Resort next year.
