The Anana Ecological Resort Krabi is celebrated for its tranquil atmosphere and stunning amenities, such as the picturesque pools and convenient shuttle service. Guests laud the spotless rooms and well-kept grounds, although a few have pointed to room cleaning services as an area for improvement.
While the spacious and modern rooms are a hit, opinions on the resort's value vary, with accolades for perks like happy hour but some criticism regarding tour pricing. Service at Anana is consistently praised, particularly for the friendly staff and helpful shuttle service, making it a serene oasis that's both modern and comfortable.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
Our trip to Thailand was pretty open and after a week in the North we decided to head South, to the coast. A little research and discussion with pals directed us to Krabi.
Of all the accommodation we viewed, Anana Ecological Resort stood out for its beauty and operating philosophy.
We booked and the hotel team reached out quickly to ask if we needed support in travelling to the hotel. Transport was arranged from Phuket airport and a mention here to our great driver from the hotel team.
Arrival reinforced online information about the Resort. And it has to be said that “resort” doesn’t do justice to this beautiful and tranquil hideaway. Set in hills and jungle and only 30 mins walk (or 10 minutes free transport) to the lovely Ao Nang beach.
Staff team (and owners) are welcoming and most helpful - nothing is of trouble.
Facilities beautiful and well maintained. Pools are just lovely. And throughout our visit, Anana never seemed busy. The vibe of the site is so relaxing.
We had planned to move on after 3-4 nights but decided to stay as felt most at home.
Strips to and along beach offer wide selection of eateries, bars and shops if you need that.
Beach is lovely and very close to national park and gorgeous islands via boat.
So big thumbs up from us on all counts.
Thank you!

Stayed after our holiday in ko lanta was ending, and needed a decent shower and comfortable bed before returning home. It’s approx 30 minute drive to krabi airport. The hotel is still very young, but you are greeted at the impressive front entrance and it already starts to shine. The modern clean lines used by the architect, big glass windows doors, elegantly tiled pool, And grey/black marble make you forget your in Thailand , its Very clean and smart.. Rooms are all you need, great shower/wet room and we slept really well (a relief after many rock solid Thai beds) . I chose the hotel principally for the ecological concept , which really appeals to me. This would be a great venue for a yoga retreat.
Breakfast was perfect and plenty to choose from, good fresh selection, you couldn’t want or need more. The egg station is always a winner.
They are doing building work at the back which was noisey in the daytime , even in our room, as heavy trucks were coming going, also noticed it by the pool, but I would guess they were only doing during day and I would guess it’s for the hotel anyway.
Location is quite off the main road and could easily be missed if your taxi driver isn’t familiar ,our taxi took an additional 40 minutes going round in circles to find it. I personally wouldn’t want to do the walk from the main road to the nearest shop etc.
The hotel do offer a “shuttle” service to Ao Nang and to a very quiet pretty private beach. This does make a big difference to the stay, else you would be forced to get taxis. It’s smart to ‘car pool’ guests at dedicated times. And for the beach they loan you a beach mat ,towels and every room has a shoulder bag to borrow. They have both the traditional open cabbie, and a new minibus.
The staff are very friendly and happy to chat, again it all adds up.
But if you are used to the prices of many Thai resorts you may notice the charges for everything to eat and drink are quite high, but it’s a 4* and so that’s normal.

My boyfriend and I managed to escape for a long weekend break. Anana Eco Resort in Ao Nang, Krabi is tucked away from the hustle and bustle . From the top floor restaurant magnificent sunsets and great 360 views of the surrounding hills. A genuine warm welcome from the G.M., J.J. and his super friendly staff made us feel like part of the family and not just plain guests.
In our Spa-Studio type room, i immediately wanted to make use of the big elegant bathtub set in the living area in front of the balcony.
All the meal’s green ingredients come from the organic garden adjacent to the hotel and Coopers the vegetarian outlet.
We had the option to explore the mangroves ecosystem with the resort’s electric solar powered longtail boat, permitting a silent and pollution-free approach to the wildlife. Seraph, the classic sailing schooner from the turn of the century, is the way to explore the nearby islands. Help hoisting the sails and take a turn on the helm
The hotels all electric vehicles can also just scoot you down and drop you off at one beaches.
In the spa, we experienced the Himalaya salt room. It was a first for me. We just did some meditation in the chilled down room were all the walls and floors are made of real salt bricks.
Overall we enjoyed this long weekend break very much. Highly recommended if you guys are looking for a quiet getaway thats not far from the nightlife at Ao Nang .
10/10, thanks to Johan, J.J. and all your amazing team! See you soon again

This Eco Resort is 5 minutes away from the city Hustle and it is very close to the wonderful beach with restaurant. It is in an area with few tourists and traffic, and it is surrounded by incredible natural scenery. Our spa suite and other rooms are first class. The salt water pool contains no chemicals and the water is clear and a great place to enjoy the beautiful day even though the pool bar was not opened but Johan was there to give us amazing service and also great talks (great humour). Johan also helped us to set up our day schedule what to do? where to go? How to go? He suggested us to rent motorbike from the resort and the bikes was new and only 200 bhat for 24hrs. All his recommendations was super fabulous. He was the best Guest relation manager so far we encountered with & really true asset for the resort. The farm next to vegan restaurant(closed) is great and they serve very delicious vegetables in the breakfast from the farm. Really organic and delicious. The Rooftop is such an amazing place what an spectacular views of sunset and sea. The private beach of the resort is also nice but only in High tied. We loved the electric car ride that's really unique Eco friendly service. We loved our stay ❤️ and the amazing Johan. We will go back to this wonderful resort soon.
Thank you for everything!!!

That was my first visit to Thailand, the resort was outstanding on all levels, the location couldn’t be better, the food in the restaurant was outstanding super tasty thai cousine.
Also breakfast buffet was great chef was making fresh eggs on your preferences (fried, omelette mixed with ham, veggies etc).
The room was very comfy and the bathroom was very clean.
There is a quick laundry service we received back our clothes nicely ironed, all you need to do just to leave the laundry bag at your room and fill the sheet.
The service was excellent the staff was friendly, humble and helful at all the time. The vibe at the hotel lobby was so nice I specially want give a big shout out for Mr Johan the hotel manager who takes us checked in and gave all the information and explained the owners dearm concept, showed us the Asana spa salt grotto, steam room and sauna and offered us a 4hrs spa exclusive pacakge, showed us the organic farm art, arranged both the ecological excursion 1. sailing cruise to Hong island and 2. electrical long tail boat for mangrove sightseeing (Lady Ana) excursion. I highly recommend this resort do not hesitate!
Best regards
Taylor James

We stayed here in Jan 2020 and we absolutely loved it, we booked it based on all the good reviews we had read and when we arrived you can see why people rate it so highly. We travelled all over Thailand for a month and we can say this hotel was the best customer service in any hotel we stayed in. The staff are just so friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble and they seemed genuinely pleased to see us every morning or evening and they were brilliant with our 3yr old (especially Tiger). There is a lovely pool with a great pool bar and they serve happy hour cocktails twice a day we definitely enjoyed a few of those. The hotel has an excellent ethos to be as green as possible, there is a farm here and also a fantastic vegan restaurant opposite with great food, and we don't often eat vegan. Rooms are nice and lovely breakfast. Location wise you are a bit far away from everything but that means it is very quiet and they organise a shuttle to a really nice private beach or to the local town. Overall highly recommended

The owner of Anana is a German Man called Wolfgang and his Thai wife who's name I cannot recal. They were both super friendly and made my girlfriend and I feel very welcome when we visited.
The resort is almost Carbon neutral, and intends to be shortly, and it was for this reason that we booked to stay here.
The pool is lovely and great for sunbathing.
The room we stayed in was gorgeous, and had everything we needed, with only one small suggestion - that the TV be a Smart TV online so we could stream Netflix / You Tube etc. But other than that it was perfect, with magnificent views of the famous Krabi mountains.
The location was great for us since we had a car. The beach was a 10 mins drive and restaurants were about 5 mins away.
The big question is would I stay here again?
Yes, I absolutely would.
Thank you Wolfgang, Mrs Wolfgang and Toom (the member of staff who took care of us).

ANANA Ecological Resort misadvertises itself as a "5 stars ecological resort" whereas in fact it is a normal 4 star hotel with the flair reminiscent of a newly built countryside bed and breakfast. The architecture and construction materials, the range and standard of the amenities provided and the service quality are all undeniably below the 5 stars mark and subsequently the hotel fails at emanating any much air of refined luxury which is what you would normally expect from a "5 stars resort".
But for a 4 star hotel it is not bad at all. It has the advantages of nice location, being built brand new, friendly staff and being well maintained and well cleaned.
However there are 3 safety hazards which did bother me in particular:
The pool which is entirely built of black stone has walls and structures under the water which are difficult to spot. It is therefore easy to inadvertently bump into the wall when swimming which is indeed what happened to me once.
The tiny tiny gym has an unsuitable rack for the iron weights which is an absolute menace as the weights do not lay firmly on the rack and fall off like ripe fruit at the slightest of touch.
Luckily I only hurt my finger once and never approached the rack again weary a 30 kilo weight might fall on my foot.
The shuttle to the beach which is not at all a gently air conditioned mini van with plush seats, toned down music and an agreeable scent as you would expect from a 5 star hotel but an open truck like the ones used to transport construction workers in Thailand might have you worrying about easily falling off from the back on to the motorway in the event of a turbulence.
Generally speaking the staff appeared extremely friendly albeit yet unexperienced.

Dear yvesr885, Thank you for valued feedback about your recent stay at ANANA Ecological Resort Krabi. We regret you did not fully love your stay, but we do hope you were still able to experience and appreciate the beauty that is all around us in the area. We are disappointed that our guests not happy our ANANA because of high expect of good 5 stars feedback. Actually our good reviews come from the guests who understand our ANANA Eco concept, nature, calm, peaceful, good breakfast, Vegan restaurant in house, good Yoga, good spa, no plastic used in house, very friendly and helpful services, new hotel, nice room, good massages, beautiful farm and garden, located not in the middle of the town and we serve shuttle services every hour. We spent 3 nights at the Pavilions and I must say that our stay went perfectly smooth. We were upgraded from our Spa Suite to the Deluxe pool access suite and it was just perfect. The room size, design and amenities were outstanding. The bed was very comfortable, we had a large balcony and the possibility to jump in the pool at any time. I also have to commend them for offering proper coffee capsules in the room (Doi Chang, a local brand from the north).
The hotel itself is quite new and looks beautiful. Its environment and scenery were jaw dropping. The cliff view during sunset on the rooftop could be featured in any travel magazine. We had "buy 1 get 1" cocktails there during happy hour (5.30 to 6.30pm) and at roughly 100 baht a piece, it was amazing value for money.
I understand that the location may refrain some from staying here, but the shuttle service was offered very often, punctual and barely took 5 minutes to Ao Nang Center. They also pick you up and bring you back to the hotel. Those 5 minutes are well worth sleeping around nature.
We also appreciated that the property is trying to be environmentally friendly, sustainable and can only wish them all the best in the future. Thank you to K. Fern and all the staff for a great level of hospitality and 4 wonderful days we will remember. We can't wait to come back ASAP!
Bom & Alex :)
Travel Tips: If you prefer being independent from the shuttle service, download local transportations apps (Grab, Bolt, In Drive) which offer private rides at lower rates than the local tuk tuks. Also, the hotel can bring you to the Aqua Beach Club upon request and bring you back as well. It takes 10 minutes and you'll end up in an almost private beach alongside a nice restaurant with affordable food and drinks. We went at 11am at the opening and we had the beach all to ourselves! The setting was heavenly.

The hotel is located about 2 kilometres from Ao Nang beach and the hustle and bustle of the tourist strip and 45 minutes from Krabi airport. With views of the hills and countryside plus a glimpse of the ocean from the rooftop the location is good but not for everyone. More on that later. The hotel owner is very attentive and staff are super friendly.
We had the Thai Studio room which is the base room and most economic to stay in. Suite is not the correct name as the room was just that, a room with no desk, no chair, virtually no place to hang your clothes unless above the kettle. Also no drawers to put clothing which is not a problem if you are staying for a couple of days but a week was a bit hard and remember this is 5 star accommodation. The bed was unusual in so far as it was on a platform which meant you could only get on from the end. The mattress was placed on the platform so if you stepped up onto the platform the mattress was on the floor so you have to lower yourself into bed, like camping really. The phone was also on the platform in a basket at the head of the bed which was difficult to get to unless you step up onto the platform. The view from our room was of the hotel farm, some buildings and distant hills.
Breakfast was very good with all the usual choices but the dining area had no views. If it overlooked the pool rather than the road and hotel drop off point it would have been a much better experience.
Not sure what was eco about Anana Resort. The bathroom toiletries were in plastic wrap including cotton buds and toothbrush. They asked us to think of saving water by using towels for more than a day but don’t all hotels do that?
Nearby facilities are limited. One great restaurant is located behind the hotel and that’s it unless you want to walk about 15 minutes to the main road to Ao Nang. No nearby massage, 7/11, shops or cafes. The hotel does provide a free shuttle to Ao Nang so you can get away to the beach and dine so long as you don’t stay out late. Only other alternative is a taxi (they do not pass the hotel to get flagged down) organised by the hotel, walk or hire a scooter. We did the latter for 350 baht a day from the hotel or you can walk for 15 mins and get one for 250 baht on the main road.
In summary, we didn’t really enjoy our stay as our room was not comfortable, had no worthwhile views, no storage, forcing us to live out of a suitcase for a week. It was fortunate that the only restaurant we could walk to was so good. If you are thinking of staying at Anana then upgrade from the Thai Suite to something bigger and look up the location on Google Maps, satellite view

We appreciate you taking so much time to share your impressions and regret that we were not able to detect your unhappiness. This happens very seldom because our caring personal service is usually able to find solutions to make the stay enjoyable. Our certified and multiple awarded Eco Resort is based on the principle to minimise the amount of furniture to protect the forests. The entire resort of 7000 square meter land is only occupying 20% with building to leave room for our Eco Farm and green landscapes. Our service concept is based on giving back to nature what we use. We serve Thai organic coffe and food. Our carbon neutral shuttle service is welcomed by most guests and additional courtesy transport is given on demand.
