I stayed at the 'Laughing Gecko' for the 3rd time and like every year, it was amazing. This place is something really special. If you apreciate the little things, this is the right place for you. Very simple bungalows with everything you need (shower, toilet, bed with moscito-net). Laughing Gecko ist a place for travelers to talk to each other...

Really enjoyed my stay here, the atmosphere was really good. The owner Nui goes out of his way to help you out with tours and places to see in the area. If you ask he makes food for everyone that stays here so you can all chill out and get to know people not many places are like this. I...

We stayed two nights and ended up extending our visit because we enjoyed it so much. Good location, just far enough away from the busyness of Ao Nang but with it still being within walking distance. the long tail boats to get to Railay, Tonsai etc. are only a short walk away too along with tons of restaurants and shops....

Loved it - quiet bungalows set in the wood, amazing owner (super friendly, full of good advice and helpful to book tours at much lower prices than anything i saw in any tourist travel places), close to the beach. Nearby mosque did wake me up though, although my neighbour didnt hear it. As mentioned below -not for everyone! Place is,...

I have stayed several times in the place and very much like the athmosphere and the basic style bungalows. The owner Nui is a great guy and creates a very good spirit. And you will meet really interesting and funny people with great stories to tell. This is the second time I write about the Gecko because I found some...

This place is definitely not for everyone. If you're expecting luxury you won't find it here, the bungalows are basic (squat toilets and mosquito nets) but the owner is extremely friendly and will spare no expense to make you feel welcome. He is also very helpful at booking tours/tickets and will get them cheaper than other places. There is a...

I was in a room, there where hundreds of flies outside. The highlight was a 10 cm big spider in the hut. So it was a horror night for me. I washed my cloth, after I had a infection of my skin . Probably my cloth got contaminated of the flies. So I had to take antibiotic cream. Some huts...

The bungalow was less then i expected from the website. I travel a lot and slept on several places but this was old and unhygienic. The...
