Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. Sadly we were only here for one night. It wasn’t long enough! Janet was very welcoming and cooks a fantastic breakfast (which is delivered to you in the morning). We stayed in the stables which has a separate living space, bathroom and kitchen. It was the best choice for us… we enjoyed having more space to move around. The bed was so so big and comfy and most importantly fresh and clean (as was everything). The brownies left for us on arrival were such a cute touch as were the fresh flowers and homemade shortcake biscuits in the kitchen (naughty but very nice). Loved the glass milk and water bottles instead of plastic and the environmentally friendly products in the bathroom. The decor and furnishings are beautiful, especially the sliding doors. The rainforest shower was a treat and the underfloor heating was nice as it’s getting a bit colder now we’re at the end of November. A perfect place to unwind and relax after a busy day. The area is really quiet and peaceful. We would return again and again. I bet it’s even more gorgeous in the summer time.…
Sadly our stay was just a single night - for my niece's wedding at the nearby Ripley Church. We were delighted from the moment we turned into the driveway and saw the beautiful views and elegant property, charmed by the interesting artworks (including at least one painted by Janet), and sad to be leaving the next day after an excellent breakfast and fascinating conversation with Paul. He and my husband seemed to have a lot of things in common and topics ranged from Royal Navy experiences dating back to the 60s to the state of the grass following a prolonged dry spell to cybernetics...... We very much hope to return.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hazel Manor. We had a warm welcome from Janet and Paul. They couldn’t do enough for us during our stay. It was lovely to stay in a peaceful location in a beautiful house. It is away from busy Harrogate but so easy to go in to town to visit. Great place to stay. Thank you.
I've never stayed anywhere quite like this before. From the drive in, initial welcome, room layout, quality of sleep, scone on arrival, locally sourced breakfast - I was clear that so much effort was given to every little element of my stay. I haven't been treated like royalty before until now. Highly recommended and just a very short drive out of Harrogate. Will be staying again.
We stayed in The Stables which is self-contained accommodation that includes a kitchen, lounge, bathroom and bedroom. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable, having been tastefully furnished. The bedroom opens out onto its own small patio area that is secluded and a sun trap! The accommodation is truly 'luxury' in every sense and it is so quiet. Visitors have use of the gardens where there is a nice deck area next to a small pond where you can just sit and ponder. The views of the surrounding areas are terrific. This is the ideal spot to relax. Paul and Janet are great hosts and make you feel very welcome; the breakfast in the morning is superb especially in good weather if you can sit outside. A very enjoyable experience in all regards and it is recommended without reservation.…
Our family stayed in all the rooms for our daughters wedding and I can't praise Paul and Janet enough for contributing to what was the most perfect weekend. The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful and we spent a couple of hours relaxing and sunbathing on the decking next the to pond when we first arrived. Paul and Janet are the most friendly hosts and Janet's cream scones and breakfasts really are delicious. The rooms and the Stables where my daughter stayed are all beautiful, stylish and luxurious. And the guest lounge is stunning!! The attention to detail is second to none. Fresh milk was topped up and the room had been refreshed each time we returned - so lovely. I absolutely loved having fresh milk!! The Stables was a beautiful place for the wedding party to get ready and the photographer loved the grounds! But what made it absolutely perfect was that Paul allowed us to hire his stunning vintage 1930s Rolls Royce and personally drove my daughter and her husband to the church and on to the venue in Harrogate. After the bride, the car was definitely the star of the show. I can't believe how lucky we were to find such a perfect place.…
Fresh milk on the bedroom tray is a reliable indicator of a good B&B and Hazel Manor did not disappoint. An attractive house (which has the advantage of being on the main Ripon - Leeds bus route) with lots of quirky art and a warm welcome from Janet and Paul. Scones on the bedroom table on arrival. A lavish supply of bathroom accessories and an excellent shower. We had the smaller of the two rooms but it contained everything we could possibly need! Excellent freshly cooked breakfast. Deserves its 5* rating.
Stayed in the Stables which is beautifully appointed with an enormous bed, a sitting area, kitchen and shower room. Breakfast selection was excellent, and delivered to the room. Everything was 5-star. Will be returning.
We stayed for 2 nights and it was all very lovely, from the cream tea that was ready and waiting for us, to the fresh milk and shortbread that was also there to welcome us. The hosts Janet and Paul were very kind, welcoming and friendly, they have created a tranquil retreat that has beautiful surroundings. The breakfast was amazing and had everything that you could possibly desire on the menu. We shall definitely be returning and a big thank you to Janet and Paul for a very pleasant stay.
Daughter booked all rooms for herself and immediate family for the night before and the big day No point in me repeating all the other fabulous reviews ...every word of how fantastic the food, accommodation, setting, hosts are is true. It is faultless. - Stables suite was perfect size and environment for the Bride, Mother and 4 Bridesmaids to dress and be transformed together - Gardens beautiful kept, spacious with many tasteful features ideal for varied pre-wedding photos - Stables suite is tucked away from the main house enabling the choice for total privacy Having seen their website prior to our stay I was not surprised that the hosts were expert at providing 5 star B&B but what blew my mind was the genuine warmth, thoughtfulness and the huge generosity of Paul and Janet As if all of the above was not enough Paul's calmness, clear thinking and kindness in ensuring Bride and Father got to the church was truly going above and beyond (Note: planned transport problem nothing to do with Hazel Manor) . THANK SO MUCH Paul and Janet…
