Horrified at hotel prices in Harrogate, opted for Cold Cotes & I'm so glad I did! Well placed for visiting Harrogate, Knaresborough, RHS Harlow Carr &, of course, the Dales themselves and located in a peaceful area. Rooms are spacious, well furnished, with huge beds, modern bathrooms & delightful outside furnished patios. You get a lot for your money here! Excellent breakfast. Friendly, accommodating staff. Only issue was lack of water pressure (we stayed in Room 5). Everything else was perfect.

Great peaceful location but only a short drive to Harrogate. Beautiful room with everything that you wanted and more. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Lovely breakfasts and cake to take away too! Highly recommended .

We had tried to visit Cold Cotes 2 years ago before Covid ~~~~ and were able to get there from the US this year and were as happy as possible with this lovely guest house. Our room ( luxury garden suite #1 ) was very lovely, clean and roomy. Having a super comfortable bed is such a plus when traveling . Sue is a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we could want to be comfortable !!! Mark and the staff whom we met at breakfast were delightful and these breakfasts super delicious. Our focus when in the UK is on gardens and Harlow Carr is fabulous. One caution is that the restaurant fills up quickly with lines forming from the parking lot. We also visited the beautiful gardens at Newby Hall. This will definitely be our place to stay if we return to Harrogate !!!…

Excellence is difficult to achieve ,but Sue , Mark and the team at Coldcotes maintain it year after year .From the high and friendly level of customer service to the amazing breakfast to set you up for the day . Put this all in Coldcotes idyllic rural setting with rooms furnished to a very high standard and you have your perfect holiday retreat . Without doubt this is a must return to holiday venue .

Have stayed here several times, this visit stayed in Room 8, there is absolutely nothing to say but WOW. The rooms are furnished to the highest standard and spotlessly clean. You have everything in your room. tea/coffee/biscuits, fresh milk and water in the fridge, then of course you will appreciate the beautiful cakes supplied by Sue. The bathrooms are spacious with The White Company Toiletries. The food is plentiful and a good choice for breakfast, all freshly cooked. The Gardens are a beautiful place to walk or sit and relax if you are lucky to have sunshine. Overall give it a visit you will not be disappointed.

Stayed in room 7 for one night and the room was spotless, cosy and comfy. There was fresh milk in the fridge and slices of cake. It was so relaxing and we would definitely come again. The breakfast was lovely and the hosts was just so friendly and we got two slices of banana cakes to take home and it was delicious! We can’t wait to come back. The garden was lovely too.

Just back from our third visit to Cold Cotes. It really is our ‘go to’ place in this part of the world. The location in a stunning rural spot is ideal for visiting the many attractions in the Yorkshire Dales and also for visiting the shops, restaurants and theatres in Harrogate. Sue and Mark are the perfect hosts and are keen to make sure you have everything you need for the perfect break. The rooms are spotless,comfortable and furnished with beautiful accessories. Little touches like a fridge in the room with fresh milk and bottles of water are very welcoming not to mention the home made cake offered for ‘take out’! There is a wide choice for breakfast and all the food is of high quality and the hot choices cooked to order. We highly recommend Cold Cotes and shall definitely return in the not too distant future.…

Enjoyable stay out of town. Very welcoming. Breakfast was lovely. Accommodation beautiful. Walked to the Queen's Head pub in Kettlesing. Quite a trek but worth it. Good food and drink and a lift back to accommodation.

We stayed for 3 nights in room 4, friends in room 5. Probably just repeating what has been said in the other reviews but is indeed a great place to stay. We are fairly picky but found Cold Cotes to be very clean, fresh with great attention to detail. Great team here all very friendly and couldn't be more helpful from check-in to departure. Honesty bar and lounge a very nice touch as well and great breakfasts too with home made produce and cakes!. Not a great phone signal but out with the control of the B&B. WiFi was also a bit patchy but may have been caused by the temporary loss of TV signal due to a damaged local transmitter. The hosts did a sterling job of providing fire sticks etc to alleviate this but folks using more WiFi via iPlayer and the like may have contributed to the patchy WFi. Very highly recommended and we hope to return in the future.…

What a gem of a place. We were warmly greeted by Sue and Mark who showed us around the room and explained how they were adhering to the Covid requirements. It showed that they cared about their staff and their guests safety. The quality of the little touches made such a huge difference. A fridge in the room with a milk bottle of milk in it, fresh cake and chocolates on the pillow. The room was light, airy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is wonderful and the breakfast staff are very helpful and can't do enough to make sure you are well looked after. If you are looking for a place to relax, enjoy the surrounding area and be totally spoilt then you. have come to the right place.
