Everything about Anakiwa 401 is fabulous. The hosts Shayne and Tanya are incredibly helpful and have given attention to small details that truly enhance the experience. The common areas are super-comfortable and well equipped and the rooom we stayed in was airy and bright with its own balcony and view of the water. Lovely established garden, full of birds. Shayne...

A wonderful retreat, my only regret being that I could not stay more than two nights. Shane and Tanya and great hosts. The setting is marvellous, and merely a short ride by water taxi from Picton. The Queen Charlotte Track is quite literally on your doorstep. You can borrow a kayak and tack along the coast line, spying out starfish...

I stayed at this lovely guest house for 3 nights. Tanya and Shayne were really helpful and lent me their equipment for kayaking. The bed was extremely comfortable and the facilities are excellent. There are no shops (so bring your own food or buy it off the guest house) and not much phone reception unless you walk down the pier...

We only had a one day stay at Anakiwa which was never going to be enough. Great spacious accommodation with views over the lake. Still warm enough for a swim in mid May. Took the hosts advice and went for the short walk to see the glow worms in the evening which was well worth it. We were very warmly...

This guest house was so welcoming after a day of driving. The rooms were comfortable and warm with great shared facilities to cook dinner. The location is stunning and so close to anything you would want to do in this part of the world. Tanya was a lovely host. Thank you for a great experience!

Together with one other hostel, this was the best place we stayed at during our 1 month trip in New Zealand. Luckily, we planned an extra night, for originally we just wanted somewhere close enough to the ferry in Picton :-) It's a fantastic place directly at the seaside with super comfy beds, a clean and well equipped kitchen and...

Yours was one of the best places we stayed. Your hospitality and the atmosphere in the lodge were fantastic. If we lived in NZ we would visit your lodge frequently. Love it!! Good for couple or families with mature teenagers.

In one month of NZ travel, this has been by far the best value for money. Clean, efficient and friendly. Great location and nice grounds, almost on the water front of the Marlborough Sounds. Although I was there solo, this would be a great spot for a family holiday, too.
