Stayed here for 1 night just after Easter, on arrival were shown to an annex out the back downstairs, it was ok if a little tired in places, unfortunately it was a cold night and the heating went off at 8.30 with no way of turning it back on! and the duvet was extremely thin even with the extra cover...

Four of us stayed for two nights. We ate the pub on both nights. We had reserved a table on both nights however on the Friday night we were the only people in the restaurant. After the meal the manager asked if would eat in the downstairs bar on the Saturday. The food on the Friday was disappointing but Saturday's...

I have eaten in the bar downstairs before and it was passable but this Sunday myself, the wife and two friends decided to have the Sunday Carvery. It was total chaos, you had to queue for 20 minutes to pay for the carvery and then queue for another 20 minutes to get the food served. Choice of three meats all...

Visited on a sunday, but not wanting a full lunch, so we decided on a bar snacks. The riverside is situated by the river in a really picturesque situation. But we were shocked to walk into the bar to find it deserted, the decor was a bizarre mix of old relics and new items. After getting a menu from the...

Are you sitting comfortably? We arrived early for check in during a very busy Sunday Lunch Carvery. They had two private parties in so we had to sit in the Carvery area. No problem, we had some food and some drinks. The Carvery looked very nice. However having been told by David, the guy in charge, that check in was...

On arrival, there was no reception I enquired at the pub attached, where the man gave us our room key, he seemed a little unsure of the process of checking in and we had to ask for directions to our room. On getting in the room we noted a musty damp smell, the room size was good bed not as...

A group of thirteen of us met up for lunch on a Saturday. There were more staff than customers but despite this the service was very slow and the waiting staff seemed confused by simple requests like milk for coffee. The food was mostly ok but the level of service means we won't be back.
