Fabulous country hotel, centrally located, set within the most beautiful grounds.

My first hotel stay in the UK since the beginning of the pandemic and pleased to see that they have all of the necessary precautions in place to guarantee a safe stay.

Stayed in a twin room, overlooking a small terrraced area. Room was clean and had all the necessary essentials (toiletries, towels, tea/coffee facilities and biscuits) The bed was exceptionally comfy and made with clean crisp lining.

Modern bathroom - the power and size of the shower was a real plus, strong water pressure!

Breakfast served on both mornings to include drink, cereal and cooked breakfast (pre-ordered the night before and freshly cooked in the morning)
Great selection of food, including gluten free.
We was looked after by Nicky who cooked and served breakfast in sync with other (socially distanced) tables.

Both evenings we had drinks in the bar, served by Eve - who catered for our every need. It was extremely hot and she ensured that drinks were super chilled with lots of ice.

Well stocked bar with a comprehensive gin selection.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area or have a quiet break away from home.

Both Nicky and Eve are a real asset to this hotel, ensuring that your stay is extra special and every request is met.

I look forward to my second visit.

Had 2 nights here with friends - a great time had by all. Our executive room overlooked the stunning grounds and gardens - a very tranquil setting. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Face masks were encouraged and sanitiser readily available which gave us the comfort that we were within a COVID safe environment. A very pleasant stay - will definitely be back.

We returned to Leeford place last weekend for the first time since we chose this lovely country hotel for our wedding reception 25 years ago, and we couldn’t be happier that we did. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special and were treated to some very generous treats by the owner and his team, who went out of their way to make our stay extra special.

We enjoyed looking around the hotel and grounds to see what we remembered and what had changed, and chatting to the team about our memories from the big day all those years ago.

We were lucky enough to stay in the bridal suite which is very spacious and very tastefully decorated, and really added to the occasion.

Dinner and breakfast were tasty and plentiful, with breakfast being ordered in advance the night before so it can all be freshly prepared at the right time.

All in all we would thoroughly recommend Leeford Place in every respect - location, cleanliness, facilities and an outstanding and friendly team. All the extra little touches were noticed and very much appreciated.

Big thanks to the owner, and Eve and Nicky for a wonderful stay, and we hope it will not be 25 years before we go back again!

Thank you for your wonderful review! We are delighted we were able to make your Anniversary stay with us extra special. The upgrade to the Bridal Suite seemed only fitting for a Bride and Groom who married here 25 year ago, especially as you wouldn't have experienced this beautiful room back then. We would love to welcome you back any time, it was an absolute pleasure to have you both.

We held our wedding here in February and it was an amazing experience made even more special by the staff and location.
The rooms were really comfy and quiet so we had a very good night’s sleep. The bridal suite was beautiful and had lovely, thoughtful touches that made getting ready for the big day itself very easy.
The food was excellent! Not just the wedding catering but dinner the night before and breakfast the day after the wedding. Really great quality and good portion sizes too.
Niki and her staff were superb! They were all tremendously helpful, nothing was too much trouble and Niki with her calm aura made sure the biggest day of our lives ran smoothly. Thank you!
We can’t wait to come back and see you again.

We had a family weekend break away at Leeford Place staying Friday to Sunday. The rooms were very clean and child friendly. The staff were exceptional, we were given a great service and were made to feel so welcome. We had breakfast both mornings which was all freshly cooked and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning and recommending Ledford Place to friends!

We were very disappointed with this venue, especially since the Trip Advisor reviews seem to be so good. For a start, it is very tired and the rooms need some work. The bathroom floor especially was disgustingly dirty. Cheap toiletries and cheap loo roll. The wifi kept dropping out and completely went off for quite some time at one point. Before any comments are made that if we had spoken to staff these things would have been addressed, what staff? You were running all over the place with the event that was on and every time I went to reception there was no one there and I’m sure you wouldn’t have had time to come and clean a floor when you were trying to manage an event. We felt for the staff, as there was definitely a lack of them and those that were there were overworked. The breakfast was cheap and not good. Toast, English breakfast and cereal. Where is the fruit, yoghurt and pastries for those that don’t want a cooked breakfast and want a more healthier option. There was not even a choice or a menu so if this was available, we were never told. This venue needs a lot of work and needs bringing up to standard. Its like it’s 20 years in the past and not been touched since.

We are very disappointed to read your review. We are a 2*hotel and our prices reflect that. 4* hotels in this area are at least 30% more expensive. We understand that you had tried to book a 4* hotel, but that they were fully booked. We informed you in advance that we had a private function taking place and you were advised to cancel your room if you were expecting a quiet night away with dinner etc. Our breakfast has never included yoghurts, fruit and pastries and is not advertised as anything more. It includes; full English (or variations thereof), fruit juice, cereal, toast, jam and unlimited tea and coffee. Guests do ask for variations on the full English and we accommodate this on request. If any of our guests have problems in their rooms, we will always find the time to rectify their issues. None of your complaints were mentioned during your stay or when you checked out. If you needed to contact a member of staff when there was no-one at reception, the duty manager’s telephone number is clearly displayed on the reception desk, next to the telephone for your convenience.

We had the most amazing wedding held at Leeford place yesterday. Nikki , Eve , bill and the rest of the staff made our day so special, the food was absolutely amazing and everyone of our guests complimented that their food was of high quality and all hot, when feeding a large number of guest that is always appreciated.
The wedding venue is superb , we were lucky enough to be able to get married outside and held the wedding breakfast inside.
We had a number of our guests saying it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to
Thank you so much to Leeford place for making our wedding so special and we will treasure the memories for ever

This was the venue for a family wedding

All the staff were lovely, attentive without being intrusive and more than happy to accommodate every request from the wedding guests and those of us that stopped over.

A well-maintained venue with lots of room to circulate and quiet 'corners' for when/if it all became a little too much.

Highly recommended 🌞

If your looking for somewhere for a wedding this is a gem. Having organised for my two daughters I wish this had been in my local area.
People can pick holes in little bits of decor and this and that but what you need is somewhere where they are professional and very very friendly. Nothing too much trouble. If there's an issue it's sorted without a humph or whistle through the teeth. It's very casual and set in nice grounds. After a 3.5 hour drive and walking in the door a cheery hello and an efficient book in was just what you want.

The rooms are great. If you want the Dorchester, then pay the Dorchester prices. Everything that you need.

The wedding itself was well organised and in the garden with lovely gazebo.

The wedding food was great. I had sea bass and regretted it when I sat down as I thought to cater for so many and manage a bit of fish to not be cold or overdone would be a miracle. It was delicious, perfect.
Service was good and efficient.

Breakfast was very good and again highly efficient. The staff were very attentive at all times.

If you want a casual friendly wedding experience, go have a look.

Thanks to all the staff.

Our son and his wife had chosen Leeford for their wedding venue. The Leeford team provided a wonderful setting with the wedding held outside on a sunny day in October. We were guided through the proceedings in an efficient and professional manner. The venue for the reception was tastefully decorated and we were able to add our own touches with no problem. The food was well presented and efficiently served. The evening also went well with a buffet and disco. There are other places to sit in comfort for anyone not wanting to hear the disco sounds. Our room was clean and well stocked with toiletries and towels, the beds were very comfortable. For breakfast there was orange juice and a selection of cereals with a choice of hot food and toast to follow with tea or coffee. Remember it is a 2* hotel and don't expect more. Thank you to everyone at Leeford for making a special family day run smoothly with some wonderful memories.

Hi, Sorry for the delayed answer. This may be of help to future questions of the same nature. Yes we are only 10 minutes away from Powdermills and have a lot of guests who stay whilst attending events there. As mentioned by another reviewer we would definitely recommend pre booking transport.
