The Inn was listed as B&B accommodation. It is, but when I arrived I was informed that the breakfast was extra and had to be booked in advance. The price charged was in excess of what most 5 star hotels charge. The waitress, an Australian had no training whatsoever, appeared indifferent and was more interested in talking to the chef...

We stayed at the Bull for one night and had drinks in the afternoon with dinner in the evening. It was cosy with a lovely relaxed atmosphere- we really enjoyed a glass of red by the fire especially as it was snowing outside! Dogs are welcomed. A really traditional old English pub without the pretentious bistro approach so many now...

The Skate Wing was unusual in that it was very thick a good 1.5 inches/ 2 cm on wilted spinach and celeriac with capers on top. Very succulent and tasty. My wife had the lamb which she found to be very good. The Argentinian Vognier is good value.

We went to the Bull recently with friends and I was so disappointed...it's a lovely cosy little pub so I was glad our friends had picked it for our meal. Unfortunately the service instantly raised our eyebrows - the waitress didn't know what beers were on tap, didn't know what their tonic was (brought out bitter lemon at one point)...

4 of us ate Sunday lunch after a walk ( Dec 4). Excellent walks around; we followed one from The Times. We reserved a table in the bar with lovely ambience and were well looked after by friendly staff. Two of us had tasty long roasted lamb shoulder and two had pink beef which they described as melt in the...

The thing is, if you're going to spend top money on Sunday lunch, it's got to be epic, and this was just quite nice. The weird bit in the title refers to their strange ordering system which almost saw me walk out before doing anything. Totally frustrating place to be, and I won't hurry back.

Well a nice glossy web site which to be fair paints a fair representation on the location but behind all that, all is not well with the Bull Inn which is a shame as given the right attention and marketing could be so much more. Very much suffering from a very hands off approach by the owners during the 2...

The summary of my stay can be seen below in a copy of the feedback I sent directly to the Bull Inn the evening after my stay. It took a week for someone to confirm receipt of my email where I was told my comments were being looked into. Despite sending them a chaser email, it's now one day shy...

Your feedback was looked into and was there were quite a few discrepancies compared to your account of your stay. It very much came across upon investigation that you were trying to get a free stay by causing a fuss about nothing and used a poor trip advisor review as a threat. CCTV was checked and did not show that...

We were travelling and wanted quick stop for food. It was a couple of days after the bank holiday weekend. Early evening pub was empty. Ordered the pie, sorry no pie, ordered beef dish, 5 minutes later, sorry no fondant potatoes with beef, ok then new potatoes? Sorry no new potatoes even though they are on the menu with different...

I went there with friends only for dinner. The food was really good and genuine. The preparation of the food was of high standards. The scampi and avocado cocktail was really good, the plaice fillet was huge and tasty and the lamb was really amazing. The environment and the atmosphere are really nice. Another country pub that I will add...
