The Bradford Arms Hotel & Restaurant is a privately owned establishment located on the Welsh border in the idyllic village of Llanymynech. Originally a coaching inn dating back to the late 17th century, the property was victorianised when it formed part of the Earl of Bradford’s estate in the early 1900’s.Now under the ownership of Bob & Cath Hedley, an award winning catering team from North Yorkshire, it has been restructured and upgraded to a very high standard with five superb letting rooms and high quality cuisine and a car park at the rear of the building.

Detailed Reviews
Amdist this Covid chaos, we sought to take ourselves away for a couple of days to a quiet area where the rates were low.
Bob & Cath looked after us well during our recent 2 night stay. Our double room was clean and looked well prepared. The heating in our main radiator wasn't initially keen on coming on but Bob and his hammer did the job and sorted it!
We liked the relaxed and homely vibe in what is a privately run establishment. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and had good food each time.
We particularly liked (ok, the better half particularly so!) the breakfast pre-order the night before. She's a fussy bugger and this meant she got exactly what she wanted (including baked beans in a pot!) with no wastage. These may sound like small and trivial things but the little details make a difference.
Finally, we were impressed by the Covid guidelines set down. Masks on when moving around and and simple signage to explain what was what.
All in all, an enjoyable get-away right on the Welsh/English border - our bedroom looked out onto the border, a few feet away!
If we ever visit Llanymynech area again, we'll call in to say hello.

Stopped here for one night on our way home from a camping holiday . We needed a warm bed and a hot meal as the weather had turned. What a great find this place is with its very warm and welcoming owner . The rooms are good value at ÂŁ70 for B&B and including our evening meals (all homemade) with drinks our bill was very reasonable at ÂŁ113. My only criticism is the bed in room 4 creaked at every movement so may need looking at so not to keep waking us up .

Stayed overnight in our motorhome on an allocated space in the corner of a large car park. Friendly welcome by Bob. Had a lovely tasty meal in the evening which was delicious and reasonably priced, all home cooked The sticky toffee pudding was marvellous with lots of toffee sauce. Free WiFi. A great nostalgic game machine with many 80s games including such games as Space Invaders and Donkey Kong.Worth returning to.

We were originally meant to be staying elsewhere however we received notification just days before our trip that the venue had double booked. My Cousin recommended The Bradford Arms, and we couldn’t have been happier here! Our room was cosy, clean and comfy. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was excellent! We took a few drinks up to our room in the evening, and prices were very reasonable. Thank you Bob & Cath :)

After driving for most of the day we called in for refreshments and a bite to eat having seen the sign outside. As we walked in we were greeted by a shaking head and an abrupt "NO!" Even when another customer offered us her table it was the same response. There was no politeness at all. I drive this route many times a year and will keep on driving in future as there are many other establishments along this road who will treat potential customers with more respect.

This was a quirky but charming hotel with an excellent little restaurant for such a tiny place. It serves all the pub favourites but with some nice attention to the details. The beef and ale pie has a homemade short crust pastry AND a top and bottom. The mushroom crepe was delicious and the Chicken Kiev was made from scratch and served with a proper garden salad bursting with vegetables. The vegetables were seasonal and plentiful. The desserts looked very tempting.

Room Tip: It’s a quiet pub with excellent hosts. There is a small beer garden out the back for sunny days.

Our recent stay here wasn't planned however it was more than my husband and i could of wished for. We were out on a days business in our van when we got stuck in snow and faced a night sleeping in freezing temp in the middle of no where. We looked on our phone and thought would be a no, but rang The Bradford Arms to see if they could help. The owners Bob and Cath could not have been more friendly and offered a room for the night. We had a lovely clean cosy room with a comfortable bed which was like a nightmare turning into a dream come true.Covid rules in place meant we had to stay in the room however they still went that extra mile and delivered a home cooked meal for us to enjoy there. What a great couple whom we will always be grateful to. When this horrid covid situation is over we most definately will return to catch up with them both and enjoy a stay in their cosy hotel and sample some more of their home cooked food.

I stopped for just one night as many do because the hotel is on the route of Offa's Dyke path. There are real ales and a good varied menu. The very tasty food is served nuclear hot which I greatly appreciate. Room was comfortable and quiet despite being streetside. A good breakfast too.

This place is a little gem! My husband and I stayed in the village for the week and walked in the pub on the Saturday evening looking for something to eat, they were really busy but managed to squeeze us in and we ended going back another 3 times.
Bob and Cath are fantastic hosts, a great couple and so welcoming, as are the bar staff. As soon as we walked in there was such a nice feel about it, chilled out and down to earth.
Cath makes the most amazing food, assisted by Bob. Everything is home-made and you can tell there's a real pride in what they do and great teamwork.
We'll definitely be back, and next time we'll stay there. I can wholeheartedly recommend The Bradford Arms, it is well worth a visit
