I was looking for a low budget hotel, luckily I got it for a decent price, had to search many app before getting it. 2km away from main road, no proper road, average rooms, AC. But nice break fast with all south Indian types. Towels & soaps are standard. Swimming pool is large well maintained. Pleasant calm & quite place. Hot water facility is excellent. Photo in app is as real, manager & staff are good. No rats.

Hi All, I want to take your time to read this which happened with us on the new year EVE....@CLEARTIP is a fraudster ......please do not book anything from there....my biggest mistake became my biggest nightmare.... 30th Dec 4.30 pm. Reached the hotel(maharaja palace in Kushalnagar coorg) and were shocked to see the hotel. As the pics which were posted on the site are totally different from the actual hotel. We got two rooms. Both the rooms had problems with the washrooms. In one room washroom was leaking while in the other one there was no water at all. Rooms had lizards and mosquitoes. We called cleartrip customer care number and requested them to change the hotel. The person who picked the phone(Nishant) said we will call after 20 min. We did not receive any call till 6.30 pm . We called again to get a reply that the person with whom we have talked has left for the day. With two kids (1.5 years & 4 years) we had no option but to stay in this hotel. We asked for room change. The new rooms too had the same issue (washrooms leaking badly). 31st Dec We left the hotel at 10.30 am. Thinking that we will be out for the day for site- seeing we thought we will manage with the same hotel. We came back at 7.30 pm and ordered tea and sandwiches. Hotel staff was continuously calling us for attending the new year party. We said ok to it (our biggest mistake). There were two big groups there in the party. One with almost 20 people from Nagpur (Some MLA). Another group was from kerela. Rest were localites. Let me tell one thing hotel doesnot serve hard drinks but they said anyone can get from outside. People were drinking. There was dance floor and continuous requests from people that please donot do video recording as ladies are not comfortable. But people didn’t listen. Then at 12.00 am there were crackers and dance. Someone eve teased me and made video. My husband got angry and requested to delete video but they didn’t listen and slapped my husband. He too retaliated and slapped in return. Then one bald person from the MLA group came with a glass bottle and hit my husband on the right eye. He was very very angry and shouting and bleeding profusely. But he didn’t hurt anyone. Then we calmed him that we have kids let’s not create issue. The event organizer came to our room and said he had called the police and the person who hit him is in police station and will suffer. We said its ok we will leave the hotel right now as we thought it’s not safe with the kids. Hotel staff agreed. We packed and loaded the luggage. Then while checking out at around 1.30 am bill was around 7000/- Rs. We said we do not have this much cash right now so please accept debit card. I gave my card to swipe but server was not responding. Then we told the manager please send someone with us to atm. We will withdraw and give the money. Hotel manager refused this. He told he needs cash right now. We requested 100 time and he said let me see. We went out towards the car. Then manager came out with around 15 people and they started beating my husband and my brother in law and our driver. They molested me and my sister (sis-in-law). Our kids were crying and we were crying. Then at that point I called 100 (police) . They diverted my call to coorg police station and we told the entire episode and requested them to come and rescue us. They said ok we are on the way. One police jeep came there. We were shouting badly and crying but they simply met hotel staff and took money from them and left. Somehow my brother in law went to atm and got the money and paid the full amount. Finally, we left the place alive. If this is the way police will behave there will be cases of rape and murder in the country. If any proof is required, then please find attached the call summary with police. Can police tell us how did they close this complaint without even calling us and taking signatures. We do not want anything from police but just a safe environment. Please make sure no family faces a scene like this which leaves their kids scared. At the End cleartip is asking me for the video as if video is more important than handling situation or our family...same on COORG police who came in and took the money from hotel people and left ..check the snapshot of my calls......…

Please din't book this hotel/ Dharamshala at any cost. you will find better options elsewhere in coorg. My review: Property: Kindly don't get fooled by the photos on the internet.Almost 50 5 of the property has been demolished by the government. it doesn't look like as shown on the website Location: Very far of from the main road. it is situated in between the fields about 400 meters inside on the bad road. No market, no food place nearby Rooms: Only one word - Pathetic rooms and washrooms Restaurant & Food: Pathetic Restaurant with average quality food Staff: Staff is helpful My Tip: Don't go for this hotel
