The rooms were ok but not well maintained. Bedsheets seemed like they needed a wash on closer look. The toilet could have been cleaner.
If you are keen to watch TV then you can be disappointed. Multiple requests are needed for them to recharge the dth account and show some channels. Floor cleaning is done only on request. But the location is good, just 2-3 minutes from Kushalnagar bus depot. It's near to many places like shops, hotels, theater, hospital etc. Even Nisargadhama is not too far.
I paid 5600 for 2 nights and had booked via a site. It could be lower during off-season.

We booked this hotel after reading some of the good reviews. The room itself is very comfortable and staff try their best to keep you happy. Food from inhouse restaurant ‘Bites’ is very good and reasonable priced. The hotel is in town centre and everything in Kushalnagar is nearby.
However there are a few things because of which this hotel cannot be given the full star rating. Rooms are big and clean, however need a bit of touch up and paint. Breakfast is horrible, we reached the breakfast room at 9:30 am and everything was cold. Since we were very hungry, picked up a couple of idlis and then decided to have the food elsewhere. If they can improve on Breakfast and room deco, they can probably get better ratings.

Located in the middle of Kushal Nagar Town, this hotel is a good choice for anyone visiting Coorg. The comfort level is also quite satisfactory within the room. It does have a good restaurant with decent choice of menu too. I would recommend this to anyone who is planning for a quick 2 night stay. The hotel has a friendly staff too and is budget friendly. If anyone wishes to hire a bike, Royal brothers is within walkable distance and you can have a good rental deal from them. Overall, a good experience. The only advice to management is to improve the ambience of the rooms and the room service levels.

the hotel made my weekend stay worst. No Lift and No room boys to move luggage to second and third floor.
Second and Third Floor rooms and the stair cases having very low parapet walls making them dangerous for kids.
Non-AC rooms are not equipped with Ceiling fans. (Instead they have wall mounted table fan) and no proper ventilation in the rooms

I agree booked 4 rooms at the hotel. Check in time was 1 pm. We reached hotel at 1.10 pm and rooms were not ready. We were made to wait for 30 mins. Then we were allotted rooms which were dirty. Ceiling fans were not there. They had small wall mounted table fans. In two rooms those fan were also not working. Hot water was not there. Bathrooms were dirty. Staff was super rude. TV was not working. We were given rooms at 3rd floor and lift was also not working. We had senior citizens with us who had knee problem. We were asked to do top ups of tata sky if we wanted to watch some channels. We informed the manager all the problems in afternoon at 2 pm and then we left the hotel for activities. We returned hotel at 8 in the evening and still all the problems were not solved. We had to fight the manager till 10. I had done booking through agent so agent refunded me the amount of hotel booking back and I had to leave the hotel at 10.30 pm with my family. You guys can imagine the trouble we would have faced to search hotel at 10.30 pm with all the luggage and old family members.
Hotel provided free breakfast, but was also serving non veg food. So we dint have lunch over there.
All in all I would not even rate this hotel as 1 on 5.
Avoid such hotels where you cannot get basic amenities.

I stayed here in February for a weekend. The hotel is well located with easy access to amenities around. The room was well maintained! The breakfast included was quite the surprise as I was expecting more of a token buffet but it turned out to be a well equipped and wholesome meal. The staff were always helpful in the few times I had to interact with them and quickly addressed my requests.

This hotel looks pretty in pictures. but the layout of rooms is so stupid. 3 sides of room have shared walls. So only one side has a the door and window. So you cannot keep that window open for peeping toms. We had booked 3 rooms (3 families) for 2 nights. But shortened our stay to just 1 night and found a better hotel in Madikeri for the next night. Even the bathroom was not clean.

This hotel is actually named "Shanti Castle International"...not sure where the TripAdvisor name came from but it is definitely the same hotel. We stayed six nights, 5 as part of a group. Kushalnagar is a small town and we were very surprised to find such a clean, comfortable and modern place to stay. Looking around the town I think its probably the nicest hotel there, although it seems there might be some nice resorts nearby. The attached restaurant offers good but not great food, at generally reasonable prices. I would definitely look to stay there again if we return to the area.

The hotel meets your basic needs. Located in the heart of kushalnagar, one has access to a number of mom and pop stores which is very convenient.The room service is decent. Was disappointed with the breakfast. Nevertheless, value for money

A group of us friends decided on the spur of a moment to drive to Kushalnagar from Bangalore one evening, and were lucky to get rooms at Castle International quite late in the night. We received welcoming & professional service at reception. Our rooms were basic but neat. The restaurant staff was very understanding of how tired we were & provided us with hot and tasty food in our rooms despite the late hour.
We stayed just for one night, but were made so comfortable that would not hesitate to stay there again.
