Stayed at Kirkby house as we needed a local room. Arrived at 4pm ish and was shown to our room swiftly by a lady. The room was just outside the main building, it was lovely! Small but just what we needed, clean! We did have a drink in the bar area in the evening and it was actually fairly busy...

It was a nice meal shared with friends but why serve a pudding with a small jug of custard on a flat slate - how do you stop it running on the table!! Two of us have bad eye sight and this didn't help. Lovely setting though.

Lovely old building,I had a room right at the top which had very low beams. Ate in the bar excellent steak at an amazing price. Decent wine list also very good value.Free WiFi, tho' it didn't stretch as far as my room. Great value, would definitely stay here again.

celebrated my daughters 19th birthday at Kirby house. On arrival we received a warm welcome from the staff and I immediately fell in love with the place. The food was amazing my steak was perfection and the giant chunky fries...well. I will definately be going back.

Excellent mothers day lunch. Very friendly and helpful staff. Divine food served in a beautiful dining room. Mum is 88 and Dad is 91 and they were both very impressed and really enjoyed their lunch. Highly recommended.

We went there for lunch on Mothering Sunday. The service was excellent and the food better. I had the roast beef, which was superb. It's one of the best meals that I've had in ages. We will definitely go again.

What a hidden gem. I should think the people who use this restaurant are keeping it quiet for themselves to use. Lovely ambience , attentive staff and a great meal. Went with my 100 year old father in law and my wife and her mother .He said " You couldn't get a better bit of beef than that" And he's...

Went for dinner on a Saturday evening.. this establishment was recommended by a friend.. everything was spot on.. the chef popping out to check on our meals was a nice touch. Food was wonderful and the surrounding had a cosy welcoming feel.. will definitely be visiting again.
