The service and food is the best. “Courtney” served our party of ten in the private dining room and later at the dockside bar. She is one of reasons we will be back. Many restaurants in the Bahamas have an issue with large parties, this was definitely an exception to the rule.
Not to be missed. Courtney was a delightful server - the meal was delicious and the drinks divine! Beware of the Bahama Trauma… apparently, they can sneak up on you. Thanks Boathouse for an outstanding meal!
Great experience at the restaurant. Courtney was our server and was so friendly and helpful. Had the coconut grouper which was delicious and plentiful. The drinks were also great. The location on the marina is lovely and has its own distinct vibe.
Valentines is a fantastic boutique yacht club/ resort, which is way better than other similarly priced places in the Bahamas or Harbour Island. The property is located on the bay side of the island and has beautiful grounds, a really stunning (newly refurbished) pool, a great coffee shop, gym, on site (excellent) dive centre and a vibey bar (away from the rooms) in the evenings. It has big comfortable beds and hot showers (unlike some other places on the island! ive stayed at) It is really well managed and the staff and managers are so friendly and cant do enough for you. I almost had a sore arm from being waved and waving back so much during my stay ! The photos on website dont do it justice to show how lovely and pretty this place is.Ive given it 5 stars although tbh its prob 4.5 only because the service was so wonderful and location so pretty and the rooms big. If you are Kim Kardashian or a Shipping Billionaire you probably wont stay here. because its not a brash place, or an ultra lux place,The crowd who stay here are younger, and friendlier than other places on the island. Dont get me wrong this is not a spring break place - Its great for upmarket wedding parties, friends traveling together, couples, its not a crazy, party place but has a fun, busy, buzzy bar, its for yachties arriving , friends gathering, family reunions, or couples who want a relaxed lovely environment with excellent service and facilities - wifi is amazing btw! and pool is serene and to die for. if you arent staying at the Dunmore or in expensive private accomodation, this seriously is a great option. and in all honestly Dunmore and Ocean View aside ....better.... I think - you can go to those places for dinner or lunch, spend a fortune, and come back here after for a nice drink at the bar after and spend the money you save on other places on excursions and seeing the swimming pigs etc The island is small enough you really dont need to pay huge prices for a beach resort (and prob wont get a beach view in most of them anyway). This is a very, very good option on this wonderful island. Contrary to a couple of other reviewers I had no problem checking in here early and also a friend was due to come out and couldnt because of Covid and she got an instant refund, and all other guests I met said how friendly and helpful the staff were. I would recommend Valentines any day for anyone coming to HI who doesnt want an ultimate once in a lifetime stay , but if you want a cool, casual upmarket boutique resort to give you very happy memories for life , then.. this is your place !…
Absolute worst customer service i’ve ever experienced with a hotel. Needed to cancel a reservation due to an accident and resulting emergency surgery. Called and talked to someone who confirmed free cancellation and apologized for the horrible situation. Booking.com then tried to contact the property to confirm the cancellation which the resort ignored. We attempted to call all week - hotel failed to answer phone or was consistently a busy line. Finally got in touch with someone who was extremely rude and uncaring and told us our reservation would be charged in full, after being told a week prior that there would be no charge. Avoid at all costs - terrible people.
We love this place but we actually booked another room in Landing for the first day arrival because every time we stay at valentines they keep us waiting until 4 or 5 for our room. I am currently waiting with kids while my husband is napping at Landing. They always say by 3 but they don’t prioritize the people that are arriving and waiting. If only they could get it together on check in times. Is we Have NEVER be in room by 3 and this is our 5th stay.
Valentine’s Resort is a wonderful luxury resort for us to celebrate 30 years of marriage. Courtney at the front office greeted us and assisted us in such an amazing way to escort into our time. We ate a sunset dinner at Rosters and Dylan was such a delightful server.
Stayed at this resort for five days. What an incredible stay in a great island. Loved the fact that the apartment had a full kitchen with a washer and dryer. A surprise I was not expecting. Also the pool has three charcoal grills available to use if you want to make some barbecue meals at night. So plenty of amenities for a family to use. Also the island has a great selection of great eateries available to have a great meal! Great place. Would have given it a five star review based on an overall experience but wish the staff would be a bit more accommodating. Overall they were good just on different island schedules. For instance three resort workers walked by as my wife accommodating our luggage inside the office. Never once offering to even help. Just shifted by and walked around her. I guess the courteous thing would be more work for them. Overall a great experience and awesome and safe island.…
We booked our trip to Valentine’s 6 months in advance. Based on this one would expect to have choice room and rate. This has been far from the case. Upon arrival via ferry to Valentine’s dock there was no help for our family of 5 with our bags. We checked in and the attendant promptly ran our card for $10,900 for the week, in addition to the 2k deposit already paid for a 2br villa. The room smelled of mold and was very dated. The furniture needed to be replaced, broken tiles in bathrooms, and everything needed painting. When we went to take showers, there was no hot water. Maintenance came as we were heading to the beach. Upon our return to the condo, I was standing on the porch and a housekeeper passed by and informed us that we were supposed to move to a new building. She reported that the front desk had been trying to reach us all day. We received no phone calls or emails. My husband went to view the new villa and discovered it was in even worse shape than the unit we were in. He told them this was unacceptable – our children cannot sleep in a room with a full bed and no closet when we paid for 2 kings. After a long delay, the front desk moved us to yet a 3rd unit. Please keep in mind with 3 small children, it is no small feat to pack up all of their belongings, a crib, etc. Management made zero effort to compensate us for these inconveniences in any way. To make it worse, the bellmen never arrived after an hour of waiting so we hauled all of our luggage ourselves to the 3rd unit while trying to get children down for their naps. The downstairs resident asked if were moving in. Once confirming, she replied “they have had someone new up there every night since we have been here.” Upon arrival at the new unit, we tried to get showered for dinner. The master shower was missing the showerhead. The kids’ shower did not drain and was overflowing. We asked to speak to a manager. We were informed the manager is gone for the day and will contact us the next morning. Maintenance called and offered us a “free drink.” At this point, we are still on property. No manager has attempted to contact us after repeated requests to the front desk. We have visited other resorts and have been dismayed at our resort’s condition compared to others on the island. In addition, the front desk staff’s attitudes have ranged from neutral to flat out rude. We have not encountered this type of service anywhere else on the island. We are trying to leave the resort but cannot find any open accommodations as it is Christmas week and everything else is booked. PLEASE. HEED MY ADVICE. DO NOT BOOK HERE.…
Dock master Peter was awesome again. Came in with 15k winds out of south and he eased us in without even touching a piling. Hardest working dock master in the Bahamas, 3rd year in a row. Love the pool and restaurant. The Beach is one of the prettiest in the world. We love Harbour Island.
