With a real fire and welcoming staff, this old wooden floored bar is the ideal place for walkers. Unfortunately they don't serve food between mealtimes but the beer is good. Excellent coffee too. This centrally located historic building is an ideal meeting place.

The Clachan is very popular food venue but unfortunately for much of the year it would not be good business sense to keep the kitchen open all day. It is hoped that our hours will be extended during the summer months. Thanks for your review.

Over the last 20 years The Clachan has changed hands a number of times and the present owners have certainly restored some of the very good qualities that used to exist some time ago. The menu is good pub food, with one or two local extras, the service was good and the decor clean and with a good feel to...

This was the first hotel room that we have ever stayed in that had a gun cupboard in the bedroom! Everybody made us feel at home and the room although basic was warm, clean and the beds comfortable. It had a kettle and facilities for tea and coffee which we appreciated and biscuits too. It obviously caters for a lot...

We have visited the Clachan many times over the last three years and have always had a warm welcome, great beer and outstanding food. Our most recent visit found the standard as high as ever, the belly pork was delicious and the pheasant and haggis divine. Roaring log fires and the rustic, traditional atmosphere make the Clachan a real gem...

We visited the Clachan Inn for lunch and although it was quiet were impressed by the traditional decor and atmosphere. The staff were pleasant and the food was well presented and tasty. However one of our party was a vegetarian and the choices for her were limited. The only black mark would be that our vegetarian asked for one of...

Many thanks for the review. We are very sorry that the pasta dish was not available during your visit and the reason for its unavailability should have been explained at the time. I hope our correspondence since has cleared up this matter and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Great atmosphere and rustic, the bar it's self is old and had open fires which made it cosy and comfie.. seats are narrow but it is a old place.. we tried 3-4 restaurants in the area and this was by far the best, great food and reasonable prices for the area.. homemade ice cream was lovely. Staff friendly too Would...

We are pleased you enjoyed your visit to the Clachan. Yes, we were very busy on Saturday night and it is always a good idea to book a table at the weekends. The beef brisket is a popular choice with our customers. We look forward to see you again soon.

This atmospheric country pub was a breath of fresh air! Old fashioned interior which was warm and welcoming. Clean and well decorated, old fashioned yes but very well maintained. Open fires, and plenty of wall decoration if you love fishing and shooting. Dogs welcomed and almost every visitor during our stay had at least one, all well behaved and enjoyed...

We try and support Laura and Phil at the Clachan as they are making a huge difference to the village. Last night we dined with close friends and the food was excellent. My husband had the game starter, the rest of us saved ourselves for a dessert. Two of us had the fish of the day which we hadn't heard...
