On a snowy day we arrived for a 2 night stay at Barley Bree to a lovely fire in the snug cosy lounge. We had been told in advance that refurbishments were starting and lounge space restricted. As it was 30th Jan, and quiet, we managed to relax in the snug both afternoons. Alison (Barley Bree's owner) was very welcoming...

Not too many reasons to visit Muthill these days, but this place makes a trip worthwhile. Husband and wife team Fabrice and Alison produce modern Scottish/ French food in a nicely renovated hotel building. Now a "restaurant with rooms" it caters for young and old, carnivore and vegetarian alike. We had lunch on a drench January Wednesday, but the place...

Wonderful food on a lunchtime visit during "the floods". Given the prevailing conditions the slight chill on arrival could be forgiven and the open fires soon made the place cosy. The food, presentation, cuisine and flavours were wonderful and prices reasonable for this quality.

Excellent all round, food was delicious and the service quite excellent. My husband declared the lamb the best he has tasted, my fish was accompanied by a marvellous lemon harissa sauce. We followed this with a simple latte and petit fours - magnificent. Our waitress was from Lithuania, aciu (thank you).

This is a small intimate venue ideal for a romatic weekend. The original features of this 16th century coachhouse have been painstakenly preserved and the first impressions are of the restaurant with low beams and even lower ceilings. The flames of a log fire are reflected round the room and suddenly you are thrown back in time to the days...

We stayed on Dinner ,B and B deal have been given a voucher as a present. We invited friends to join us for Dinner. We had a leisurely drink in lounge while looking at menu. We were very impressed with presentation and flavour of all the dishes. Service was also quiet and friendly.

My second visit, having taken my wife there on her birthday. I owed two friends-both discerning foodies - so volunteered to be the non-drinking driver to take them 45 miles each way (that in itself should day something when we have several good places within bus/taxi distance). I was not disappointed and my friends were impressed. Faultless meal in genial...

This is quite possibly the best restaurant that we have eaten in. Great food, great hosts and brilliant service - cannot get enough of this place - recommend to all. The walls are covered in Andy MacDonalds metal fish sculpture - sums up the overall experience - outstanding

We enjoyed a beautiful meal at Barley Bree last Friday, we were staying in a cottage a few miles away and it was recommended. What a treat it proved to be, welcoming staff, a cheery fire and comfortable lounge to enjoy a pre dinner drink and choose. Beautifully presented, each course was mouth watering and so carefully cooked. Next time...
