Fab lunch at the Barley Bree. Lovely ambience great staff very attentive but not in your face. Superb food. Wine list is excellent. Went for the chateau Masur from Lebanon. This is good. Very very good wine although I know it. Recommended.

My wife and I have just had an overnight stay on our first visit to this charming restaurant with rooms. The dinner was the best meal we have experienced better than all the celebrity chef venues we have visited. The produce was of a very high quality and cooked to perfection. The dinning room had a nice cosy atmosphere. The...

If you are looking for a glitzy spa hotel or a grand Perthshire pile with extensive grounds, this is not for you. The premises are situated on the Main Street with no real frontage. Muthill is a pleasant but unremarkable village with few attractions. Don't be discouraged. Once you enter you will find the owners have created a facility of remarkable...

As soon as we crossed the threshold we received a warm and friendly reception, Alma was so helpful, after checking in she showed us to the room and let us know the essentials. The room was clean, cosy and had an en suite shower, (we turned the radiator off as it was toasty hot). The bed was comfy and we...

This was our first visit to the barley bree and it won't be our last! Our room was beautiful and the large roll top bath was perfect. The room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The dinner was just perfect from the lovely amuse-Bouche to the petit fours. I had the sea bass with just wonderful accompaniments, fregola pasta was...

It was a lunch to remember for all the right reasons. It was our first visit to Barley Bree and although we did not avail ourselves of the accommodation the restaurant had an ambience that was not expected with subdues lighting, wooden floors and windows on to the main road which must have been triple glazed as the passing traffic...

We have gone to the Barley Bree, for a meal and one night stay, for my October birthday every year for the past 3. The rooms are tasteful, understated style and the restaurant experience is second to none - enhanced further by the beautiful art work by Sam MacDonald adorning the walls. I love going there as everything is a...

My wife and I had a beautiful Sunday lunch. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. There is a really nice atmosphere in the restaurant. It is a gem of a hotel. This was my second visit. We will definitely be back.

I have been meaning to visit this place for years. How I've missed out! We went for Sunday lunch and it was quite busy but not too busy. The food was really exceptional. The bread is so tasty. The Merlot I had was wonderful.

Mid-week lunch with friends. We sampled pretty much all the starters, mains and puddings between us and all were excellent, especially the fishcake starter, the pheasant breast main and the cheese. Good wine and service although we could have done with more water on the table. The dining room is quirky but cosy and we pretty much had the place...
