Detailed Reviews
We arrived on the worse weather weekend of the year so far but had such a warm welcome from Ross and crew. Beautiful sea-view room with good facilities (huge bath and shower en-suite).
We hit the half price pizza and bingo night and can totally recommend this if you are lucky enough to be there when it happens (only in winter so far we understand). Pizzas are amazing and very good value. Bingo was such fun and lots of local community joining in.
Great Scottish breakfasts on the two mornings we stayed as was our other evening meal.
Really worth the effort not only for the food, welcome and stay but fantastic scenery.

Having been wild camping for 3 days we were looking for a hearty lunch to tide us over.
As this was the first day of opening since lockdown we were the only people there ,downloaded the app for the hotel ordered our food and paid online (very smooth process).
The starters arrived promptly and WOW
The salt and pepper calamari was absolutely amazing along with the haggis bon bons (the relish was out of this world).
Then the mains arrived 2 fish and chips and 2 jumbo sausage kids meals , the fish was out of this world and the kids enjoyed the sausage (they were over the moon with the size of a jumbo sausage in batter.
The chips were crispy on the outside and super fluffy on the inside.
I hope as lockdown continues to ease off you get more visitors and your business will continue.

Had a really lovely stay at the Kilchoan Hotel after a couple of nights in a campervan. Staff were great; very attentive and friendly, always wearing masks and ensuring that they kept their distance. Was great to see somewhere busy after such an uncertain period for the hospitality industry. Hotel room was lovely and exactly what you would expect for a hotel in the area- not super fancy but was very clean and tidy, great shower. Food was also delicious both nights- this was ordered via an app/website to minimise staff exposure to people and worked perfectly.

The Hotel is situated in the far West of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, not far from the lighthouse at the most westerly point of the British mainland. Therefore it is remote and relatively inaccessible. I salute the Owners and Staff for providing such a welcome haven. Our room on the second floor (no lift) had fine views to the South. It was very simply furnished but had the essentials. It and the bathroom were well decorated and spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. The heating was only just able to deliver sufficient warmth - there were high winds and rain at that time. The bar and eating areas were warm and comfortable and it was great to see that many locals came in to enjoy the fare giving a realy cheery ambiance. I have known Ardnamurchan since my youth and love its relative emptiness and the amazing willdife on land and along the coasts. I would be happy to return to the Kilchoan Hotel and recommend it.

We were staying in the Ardnamurchan for 6 nights and walked here (30) minutes every night! Absolutely loved the Argour Ales. We just ate one night as we were self-sufficient and on a tight budget, but the 'supper' night was really excellent!! Lovely to see locals in for that too, and great to see all the community connections. The staff were quite simply excellent - 3 young women - their efficiency was astonishing. They were very pleasant and helpful. But above all... just great workers. There are so many issues around trying to get decent staff at the moment. I hope these young people are put up locally and don't have difficulties with accommodation etc., as that is such a challenge. I loved watching them. One of them had a 'they/them' lanyard and it is great to see such inclusiveness in such a remote location. Keep doing the Ardgour ales, and they way they are presented... all lines up at the bar is great!!

We added the Ardemarchan Peninsula to our Scottish Adventure after reading about its remoteness. The Hotel in Kilchoan was the only choice apart from a very expensive fancy schmancy option a couple of miles away and as we are not the fancy schmancy type booked us a couple of nights. The drive from the Corran Ferry was spectacular, one of the best we’ve done and we’ve done quite a few road trips in our time. It really does take a couple of hours, but we’ll worth it.
The hotel is easy to find as Kilchoan is only small! We were greeted by friendly super helpful staff and shown to our room which over looked the Sound of Mull and the Mountains. Perfect. The bar was well stocked and food really good. Fish and Chips on a Friday night with what seemed like the whole of the Village was excellent.
We will definitely be back as this area of Scotland is truly wonderful.

We were staying in Acharacle and places to eat are few and far between. We booked a meal at the Kilchoan Hotel and combined it with a trip out to the West Point of the peninsula to do some walking. We were made to feel very welcome, there was a friendly atmosphere and the staff were very polite and attentive. The meal was delicious, one vegetarian and one meat eater - was only sorry I was too full to do justice to all the succulent beef in my pie! What we saw of the hotel (bar, lounge bar and toilets) was nothing fancy but we felt very comfortable there.

We have just had four glorious nights at the Kilchoan Hotel. This was our third attempt to stay due to Covid restrictions. Ross was excellent in keeping our booking deferred from October and letting us know any changes to our booking. His customer care was exemplary.
This hotel is one of the most remote on mainland Scotland so don't expect fine dining. What you get is a really nice Hotel, which is clean, well stocked warm and comfortable. The food is well cooked, presented and it was great to get local produce. A five star stay, Thank you.
What made it for us was the exceptional service we received from all the staff especially Ross and Cynthia.

Stayed as wanted to see the Ardnamurchan region of West Scotland, which is beautiful and Kilchoman is as west as you can go. It is all a bit tired and faded elegance. I was hoping for killer views but there really any. The food was good honest pub fare and very adequate. They allow dogs were very friendly so if you find yourself on the peninsula you would be daft not to go here.

Staff are a great credit to the hotel. In particular Grace worked extremely hard to look after our group. Wefelt very well looked after by all workjng at the hotel- many thanks. Food was great at dinner and breakfast was also good. On the developmental feedback side the hotel rooms are comfortable and have everything needed however are a little tired which is reflected in the rating given based on value for money.
