Following a very hard day on our bikes over a number of Cols in the Route des Cols, we arrived to be met by Bert, the owner, with much more than just a cheery Bonjour. This set the tone for a delightful evening in Bert and Christine's company, great food and wine, a lovely old house with terrific views over...

We stayed with Robert and Christine during our trek on the GR10. We arrived late and tired on their doorstep to be greeted with Christine's friendly smile and a cold beer. Our double room was spotless, had character and was snuggly as they had the heating on for us. After a great hot shower, where toiletries were provided, we joined...

This was our 2nd visit to Le Repos du Moine and we were so impressed that we had to give Bert & Chris a 5 star rating. The rooms have recently been upgraded with new beds (very comfortable), the B&B is so cosy and homely we did not want to leave. Each day we had to force ourselves to hit...

Chris and Bert were excellent hosts and looked after us so well when we stayed at this enchanting house last week. We loved the fact that vegetables for our meals were fresh from their garden. This small village is amongst the most wonderful scenery of mountains and the Garonne river rushes over rocks in this high valley. We enjoyed driving...

We luckily came across Le Repos du Moine when looking for a place to stay for the 2012 Tour de France (when it was in Bagneros de Luchon). Bert and Christine were great. The room was very nice and the atmosphere was so friendly. The town is right next to the border so we hopped over to Spain (10 mins)...

Bert and Christine were also our tour guides, our English teacher, and above very good hosts. If nothing happens again next year, well repeat ( of course ) The house is in a unique place, with routes running to do if you also want the mountain . I have become excited about this first experience in a chambre d'hote.

Having spent previous nights alone in isolated mountain huts or in refuges sleeping alongside snoring and expectorating fellow walkers, Le Repos was an oasis of calm and luxury, from the first cold beer (on the house, as it later turned out), to the soft towels, hot bath, soft bed and cool, clean sheets. And Robert appeared quite happy to get...

we spent a lovely week over Xmas, Chris & Bert kindly attentive to all our requirements and serving bespoke breakfasts at whatever time we asked. simple, clean and comfortable, in an ungentrified village, very well located for walks and excursions, just how we like it.
