We stayed in the River Room, it was a lovely experience, peaceful, tranquil and in stunning surroundings. The sound of the river trickling along as we sat in the conservatory, sipping a glass of wine, was hypnotic and calming. Our room was huge but very cosy, and all our needs catered for. Paul and Janice were very attentive and friendly...

This was an overnight stay for a wedding party. Paul is a lovely man and very welcoming. I had the River Room but alas did not get to enjoy the beautiful conservatory attached to the room. The room was beautifully appointed and concentrated on all the small and extra touches such as cotton wool, wipes, water, electric blanket etc. When...

An overnight stay to help friends celebrate a wedding anniversary led us to this wonderful gem in the quiet of the countryside. Our rooms were spacious comfortable and spotless. There were "extra" touches every where. Really flavoursome tea bags and fresh milk for the complementary drinks tray with home made shortbread. Cleansing wipes and all other possible niceties in the...

We had to cancel our original booking in April due to a death in our family. Jan and Paul very sympathetically worked with us to re-arrange another date as the stay was a gift from our children. What a genuinely lovely couple and what a wonderful place to stay. We had the River room; a large, very comfortable and tastefully...

What really stands out about the Mill is its authenticity (it genuinely was a mill, with the mill-wheel preserved in the house) and little touches that make you feel at home immediately, relaxed in the Irish countryside. The rooms were beautiful and well-kept, but not showy; with home made treats upon arrival and flowers from the garden. If you come...

A quirky haven in my mid life crisis. This was the venue for my 50th birthday sleepover, breakfast and cycle. It was beautiful, comfortable and memorable. Wonderful breakfast, delightful hostess and stunning scenery. Roll on 60!

We stayed at the Mill at Balloo for 4 nights whilst visiting friends and touring the area. Accommodation was first class with our “hosts” looking after our every interest. Our room was adjacent to the millstream with a delightful sitting room. The full Irish breakfasts set us up for the rest of the day. Highly recommended.

Paul and Janice are excellent hosts. Communication prior to arrival was excellent, and while we were there they were very friendly and helpful. They gave us tips where to run (quiet country roads with stunning views), candid local restaurant reviews, and useful info about things to do. The rooms were stunning and the breakfast delicious. We'll be back!

We have just had the most beautiful, relaxing stay in this wonderful house! The hosts are fabulous and we felt as if we had been invited to stay in their home - not like paying guests. The rooms are beautiful and breakfast was superb! Highly recommended !!!
