Definitely one of the best Sunday lunches we've eaten. Visited last weekend, such a lovely setting and such friendly staff who are happy to help you. Quality of the beef and lamb amazing and plenty of it, together with a nice range of vegetables. My husband loved the parsnip mash. A must if your in the area x

This hotel is now run on a room only basis with the restaurant a separate business known as Neil at the Riverside (see separate review). We had no problem with the hotel room which was clean and tidy with a wonderful view over the River Usk and the farmland and hills beyond. Although near the busy A40 traffic noise was...

I have been coming here for many years whilst visiting relatives, although the rooms have had a paint job since my last visit there are many little jobs that have been left undone.a mere spend of £20 per room would fix items such as missing hooks on doors no light pull, only string, cleaning of patio doors at the bottom, also underneath the wicker...

Where to start? Snail trails in the dining room, ants in the conservatory, leaks in the bathroom, unkempt grounds. I could go on but this isn't a rant. We started out at check in being asked to pay for the room and breakfast in separate transactions as the hotel and restaurant are completely separate businesses. The food was ok; nothing...

We called in here for a quick bite to eat this evening and I'm so glad we did, it was a very pleasant surprise for me. We chose from the Early Bird menu which had a wide variety and proved to be good value as well as delicious. The views from the restaurant of the river are fabulous but what...

The trouble with Easter Sunday lunch you are never really sure whether to make the effort, everywhere is usually packed out the food mass produced and warmed-up, or kept under hot lights but thankfully we were glad we made the effort as everything was excellent. We were shown straight to the table next to a window and as the weather...

Our family Sunday lunch for 10 was enjoyed by all. The service was good with the food quickly prepared and the main course was served piping hot. The choice on the set menu wasn't huge but nevertheless included everything you would expect. We chose scampi and Brie as our starters with traditional beef, lamb and turkey Sunday lunches for the...

Absolutely fantastic! Went on Good Friday to celebrate a family members 70th birthday, the whole experience was lovely. The team were great and really looked after us even through some last minute allergies having to be catered for. The quality of the food was superb and the choice even better. I'm gluten free and the choice and variety the best...
