In this rural hotel in the Pyrenees but close to the Mediterean sea and Empuria's Brava we stayed for the second time on our journey to South Spain. It's a warm welcome we got from owner Mercedes. She took care of us and we felt home immediately. The rooms are decorated originally and are better equipped then a 5 star...

Fantastic, family run hotel that is welcoming, spotlessly-clean, and immaculately furnished and decorated. First visit but definitely not my last. Would thoroughly recommend it to anybody wanting a quiet, relaxing break in a vastly-underestimated part of Spain.

The room was extremely comfortable with good quality modern amenities and generous toiletries. It was light and airy with a private terrace and a rooftop terrace as well. The owner Merce was extremely friendly and helpful. She and her mother Rita cooked us the most wonderful meal. Certainly no need to go out to a restaurant.

We have been on a walking tour of Catalonia and have stayed in some delightful small hotels along the way but Niu de Sol was by far our favourite. Merce has gone to endless trouble to make her hotel welcoming and comfortable. Not only did our room contain a sofa, kettle, endless tea bags and coffee with muffins but there...

Our last night our walking holiday was here. It was a huge surprise to find such an unusual hotel in this location. A really friendly welcome was just what we needed at the end of our walk and that's why we received. Everything I the hotel was a mixture of new and traditional. The result was a very friendly family...

Dear Alan: thank you very much for your excellent and detailed review. I don't need to be humble if I say that I love my job, and when this happens the visitors of my hotel notice the positive sensations and feelings that you commented. Thanks again and although we met thanks to Catalan Adventures, I invite you to come walking...

Words fail me--this place is too special to use descriptions like fabulous or stunning, or even warm and welcoming, though it's all that. Mostly, it was just, well, just, uh, fabulous, and stunning and warm and welcoming. I've stayed in much more expensive hotels, and in fancier hotels, and in bigger hotels, but none better than this one. I could...

Wow Erick!!! Now it is me that I am stunned. What a nice review of the hotel facilities, of my employers, of me! You commented "the words fail to describe...". Do you want to know the key word of your text? "Special". I connect with all that is special and you too. It appears that some people notice when something...

This is among the best hotels I have encountered anywhere. The first 3 nights of a cycling tour had my wife and I staying here and we were so impressed with everything about the hotel. Many other reviews have highlighted excellent points, I want to add that the dinners can be considered fine dining. Merce is charming and the Inn...

Thank you very much for your excellent review. I am amazed to read that my place is among the best hotels you have encountered anywhere. I am honestly very grateful to share this with others visitors. But the thing which had left me stunned is the following: "She treats you like a long lost friend", so, as a special friend...

This was quite a surprise to my husband and I who are always last minute travelers. The owner Mercedes is a most friendly and helpful host to this beautiful and well located hotel. The place is wonderfully decorated and the terrace has a breathtaking view. Located in a hill, provides a panoramic view of the Bay of Roses and the...

The breakfast was especially varied and delicious, and the owner is very helpful and gave good advice. Palau-Saverdera is a small village, I didn't find the village itself so interesting, but the location is favorable, if you are interested in both culture (not least Salvador Dalí) and nature. Don't miss Cap de Creu (National Park and the easternmost point of...

We stayed at Niu de Sol as part of a cycling holiday; the room was lovely and had a little balcony; there were little touches that made it super-comfortable, including coffee, tea and snacks in the room. Also, the breakfast is great with really good coffee and fresh pastries, as well as delicious meats, fruit and cheeses. We also chose...
