We arrived by private plane on Cat Island. Taxi to Hawk’s Nest $ 90, road most of the way under repair and extremely bumpy. Once we arrived, we found the hotel in very poor shape and areas around it incl. the pool completely unkept. The room was just about ok, water pressure so low, could not take a shower. Dinner was ok, probably the highlight of our stay. We were supposed to stay 3 nights, left after one. There is absolutely nothing to do unless you want to go fishing or scuba diving. So it was a huge disappointment, not recommendable at all.

We decided to take an impromptu trip from Great Exuma to Cat Island to fulfill our quest of experiencing different Bahamian out-islands. Our plan quickly came together with the assistance of Anton & JR at the Hawk’s Nest Resort. We chartered a small plane from Great Exuma and within 25 minutes we landed right at the resort. We were greeted by JR, Je-Sea & Anton and immediately felt at home. The amazing staff, food and atmosphere were exactly what we needed and hoped for. We made lifelong connections and cannot wait to return. The deep sea fishing was spectacular! Thank you for the undeniable best adventurous week!

Nothing at this marina and nothing nearby. It's very shabby. Some fisherman but that's it. Much better in the North part of the island and great anchoring. The "Resort" has gone to shambles and we moved after one night.

Our 4th trip to Hawks Nest Resort first trip since 2007! The perfect island getaway. JR, Anton and the whole crew make this a great experience as always.Landing on their beautiful runway and parking your airplane, walking a few hundred feet to your room / bar / restaurant is really special. Only a short hop to Exuma Int, for fuel & customs (or customs @ New Bight) Bicycles provided, rent a car to go exploring, beautiful marina & stunning cobalt blue water. Tremendous food, very nice rooms. This is what you think of when you think out islands. A pilots paradise.

We flew into Hawks Nest Airport in early March 2020. The runway was in great shape and there was plenty of tie down spaces. Check in was easy and quick. JR, Mary, and Anton were gracious and very helpful. Our room was neat and clean and plenty of hot water for showering. The restaurant was next to the bar which was open all day. Dinners were served at 7pm with a choice of fresh seafood and other land animals. My only complaint would be that the lounge could open a little earlier for us early risers who like to drink coffee and check on the news back home. There is coffee in your room so not really a big deal. Over all, it’s a great place to stay, with awesome beaches and friendly people.

Our trips to Cat have been going on for 7 years. We usually come by boat but this time we came by plane. It is a quiet gem. You will get to experience real island life. Great time as always. Best staff in the Bahamas.

Everyone was cheerful, helpful and accommodating. My wife and I were not expecting how wonderful our visit would be. We fished with Randy. Both my wife and I fish almost every weekend in South Florida and Key Largo. This, beyond a doubt, was the best fishing day we have ever experienced. Kudos to Randy and mate. We love this place and will be back. Thanks Randy.

Awesome location. You can park your plane just a few hundred feet from your hotel room. Friendly staff. From Bevery, the housekeeper, to Randy the fishing captain. We enjoyed everything from laying in the hammock to Jessie guiding us to the shark dock. Anton and Mary mixed some Island drinks to start of our nights. Rent a car to explore the Island. Don't leave without eating the Catch of the day! Looking forward to coming back.

Hi, We are a group of 6 divers and just finished 8 days at a guest house adjacent to and managed by Hawks Nest. To be fair we had some windy conditions. We had made phone calls prior to our visit assuring us of diving and resort services. However, the managers JR and a Randy were NOT at all interested in providing us ANY SERVICE. We were met with “how did you guys ever find this place?” Told the compressor was out of service and they were offering no diving or fishing charters while we were there. When we asked to speak to the dive master JR (who had never introduced herself after several tries) informed us “ Randy was too busy to come speak to us”. Completely unacceptable for a resort manager. One local person quoted “He sits up there and does nothin” On a positive note we met with Dean and Patty down the road who are opening an up coming marina operation at Da Pink Chicken. We had the best fried conch I’ve ever had! They were lovely and super hospitable. Would definitely recommend Da Pink Chicken for food and services in the future.

No bad days, even rainy days! we love fishing with Randy on the open sea! we always catch fish, have great time doing it and Randy real knows the ocean, places to venture into. Charles is awesome first mate and deck hand as well. They do a great job of filleting the fish and packaging when we are done. We love, love, love feeding the sharks when all is said and done! a great spectacle even for the on-lookers just visiting the Resort in the afternoon. Thank you JR and the crew for keeping it real and real simple!
