We spent one night at Ocean West. The staff was warm and welcoming and very helpful, and the property was lovely, with fantastic views. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious, and though not inexpensive, we felt that prices were within an appropriate range.
We appreciated the convenience to the airport and transportation by the hotel driver at a very reasonable rate, as we flew in one day and out the next. We were able to walk to a casual restaurant in the neighborhood for dinner, which we also enjoyed. (Walk with attention, as the sidewalk is on only one side of a busy road.)
We enjoyed the pristine pool area but did not walk down to swim at the nearby beach. We would gladly stay in the future!

I only spent one night at Ocean West. The room was comfortable with attractive furnishings. I particularly like that they provided a real coffee pot that made the best in-room coffee I have ever had. The art on the walls of the hotel is unique and interesting. The small bar and combo billiard room was pretty cool. I had breakfast the day of my departure and it was honestly the best food I had during my trip. The view from the Hotel was very good. The pool and associated patio area was very nice.
Every person on the staff that I interacted with that was polite, helpful, and friendly, which I think made the surroundings all the more beautiful.
As noted by others it is not really close to anything, by that I mean in easy walking distance. But this was not a problem for me. But if I was staying more than a night I think I would have need to have a car or some other means of conveyance. The Hotel did offer rides to many destinations.
My only negative is that I thought the prices a bit on the steep side not the room charges but drinks and food. I am not sure this is a valid complaint because I thought food prices everywhere in the Bahamas were high, at least at Ocean West the quality of the food and drink was also high.
I hope I get to return someday for a longer stay.

We visited Ocean West for a romantic and quiet get away and it was perfect in every way. The staff catered to all of our needs, the food was absolutely delicious and the location was ideal. This property is very nice. We stayed one night in transit from Eleuthera. It's a lovely house. Airport pick up and drop off was convenient and reasonably priced. We had no complaint with the actual accommodation other than the room being like a closet. However, the room was downstairs and next to the lounge which had a pool table and bar.
The island was under a ten o'clock Covid curfew, but apparently not here since there were people in the lounge laughing, yelling, and playing pool well into the wee hours of the night. The walls are paper thin so they might just as well have been in our room with us. It was a sleepless night.
Management knows these rooms are next to the lounge. They must also know the walls are paper thin. This lounge should be shut down at a reasonable hour when people are booked in these rooms. For $250 a night, we expected good night's sleep.
We are not complainers so we did not make a complaint, but we were going to mention this when we checked out. However, no one even bothered to ask us how our stay was.

Hi Missmarleygirl, Thank you for sharing your feed back, both positive and constructive. I apologize that we did not exceed the standard of your expectations. The island having a 10pm curfew does not affect in-house guests. The curfew is implemented that all business establishments and non-essential vehicles/workers be INDOORS by that hour. Yes, we do acknowledge that the ground floor rooms are surrounding the pool room/lounge area, which is why on the wall above the pool sticks is a sign that implements the closing time of the pool table, 11pm. Also, on each side of the pool room entrance into the room corridors, there are slide sound proof doors. Once they are closed, all noise is blocked from the lounge area. If front desk is not aware of a noise complaint from other guests, the situation will continue , but otherwise, front desk would ensure that the matter is resolved so that other guest can obtain a quieter and more peaceful sleep. If you are to visit again in the future , wish we do wish upon, please contact the hotel directly so that we can ensure you are not booked on the ground floor , and can offer you the best experience that Ocean West has to offer. If you need a hotel close to the airport or want a high-up and far away view of the ocean, this place is for you. At one time, it used to be a residence, so don't expect a 'proper hotel' experience. It was spotless, the pool lovely and the grounds are beautiful. The staff is extra accommodating and very friendly. The decor is dated - something you would see in Trump's home. Gold leafed furniture and heavy carved furniture. The bed was very comfortable. The WIFI was great, but the TV sucked. It's quite far from the main road, which is a problem because the hotel has no restaurant. So you are kind of trapped there unless you want to spend $30.00+ getting a lift to the grocery store or a restaurant. They only sell breakfast (expensive for what you get) It was beyond terrible. The coffee tasted like dishwater. The turkey bacon tasted like plastic, and the eggs were underdone. This could be a great spot if they could get some half-decent food on site.

Hi guest, thank you for reviewing your stay here with us. If we had known of these issues you encountered here with us, we would of happily made your stay more enjoyable. Yes we are not located directly on the beach, but it is a 5 minute walk from the hotel , down the hill to the main road. We do offer hotel transport to the many restaurants nearby. A $30 charge is the opposite side of the island fee. Restaurants nearby range from $8-$15 by our hotel transport or you can walk to a few. Public transport also passes along the strip of the hotel at a fee of $1.25. We are truly sorry to learn about your distasteful breakfast which is not like any other complaint we have, but we do hope that you revisit so that you can enjoy every aspect that Ocean West has to offer at our highest service.

We had to spend a night there because we missed our flight and the staff was so accommodating. They provided transportation at the requested time, recommendations of restaurants and needless to say that the hotel is great for the price you pay. Comfortable, nice view, clean, good internet. I definitely recommend it!!!

Peaceful located in a quiet area but handy for the airport.
Nicely appointed room with a beautiful view over the ocean or lake.
Comfortable beds and adequate bathrooms. Staff most accommodating with any request and always available to drive us to restaurants at a reasonable charge.
Would definitely recommend for couples looking for a romantic hideaway.

We stayed here for just one night but it was fantastic! Great rates for a nice room that had all we needed - a big king bed! The staff (especially Dion) was super friendly and took care of our needs. The hotel was originally an old Colonial style home that was converted into a 10 room hotel. The amenities are great, whether its the pool for swimming or the pool table for a little fun. The location is great too - not in the busy heart of downtown or Paradise Island but a little west near the airport. The ocean is right across the street and the view from the hotel is spectacular. I would definitely stay here again. The price is under $200/night which is much better than most of the hotels in Nassau. A great deal in my opinion.

My husband and I stayed at Ocean West Boutique Hotel for 4 nights and we cannot wait to go back! The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, they really make sure quests are comfortable and have everything we need. The hotel itself is very clean, and the staff is very attentive, At times, we felt like we rented the entire hotel for ourselves because there are only 10 rooms and you never have to worry about getting a lounge chair by the pool. This hotel is perfect for couples or singles that just wasnt to unplug and relax.

Found this wonderful place a few years back when visiting the beautiful Exuma Islands of the Bahamas. It’s actually a mansion converted into a hotel, B&B. The architecture is really nice and decorated tastefully. They do not serve lunch or dinner but have lots of options available for delivery. The breakfast is A La Carte and can get pretty much anything you want. There is a conch dish that they do like notice for. Good size servings and great coffee. The Dining rooms is something out of a fairy tail....take a seat Princess! The service is alway polite and courteous. On this journey amid the stress of the virus and being called home to Canada the little lady at the front desk engaged me into a pleasant conversation in which I felt better afterwards. I am an solo older woman traveller that kept getting her flights bumped. The rooms are beautiful and clean with great windows that face the back overlooking a beautiful pool and an amazing Oceanview. Oh did I mention it is gated and it is close to the airport. Only 10 rooms in the whole place so again a perfect, peaceful, stress less place to stay...you really don’t want to leave. I will always go back if I need to stay an over night in Nassau.

Hi, it all depends on which room you choose with view and bed size. Rates can range from $215 to $350 per night.
Is there covid rapid testing on site? Or is there a place close by that is recommended by the hotel?
Hi, unfortunately the hotel does not offer testing on site.
There are two facilities nearby, Family Medical on Blake Road and Bonneventure Lab in Sandyport .
Yes they do accept credit/debit cards. You May have to visit the website to get exact pricing of the rooms!
I don´t know. I´ve never been to New Zealand. The Ocean West Hotel is located at the Bahamas.
