Stayed for two nights on Bahamas tour. Found the food and drinks to be fairly expensive as we were not all inclusive. Rooms were very nice and spacious and contemporary with two large double beds, nice bathroom, fairly quiet too for a busy place. Right...More
My family and I stayed at this property for our annual get away and was not satisfied with the service. The grounds and building was beautiful and when we arrived we had high hopes. However we soon found out that not all All-Inclusives are created...More
We were welcomed with a Bahama mama.We arrived (after a long journey) at 3.15 p.m. The room wasn't ready. We were very disappointed, because after een long flight, this is all you wan. To go to your room, unpack your swimwear and go for a...More
I was so surprised to hear all the bad reviews from others as our trip was magnificent. We had Level and I do think it contributed vastly to our experience. We were able to get reservations to all of the restaurants, we enjoyed great wi-fi...More
We were traveling with two other couples, and chose Melia as a cost effective resort, rather than choosing a high end boutique location. Overall, the five day trip was very nice, perhaps better than we anticipated given the spotty reviews we read for this location....More

Bugandboo, there is more than one pool at Melia, and also the adult pool in the centre of resort has a 'swim-up' bar as well. The hotel was quite full when we were there, but always plenty of space at the pools, never too busy. Also, the beach is directly at the hotel, the water is so clear, so you really have the best of both pools and beach. Yes, foam party is in adult pool on a Sunday. Main restaurant is the Market Place, which is buffet style, no reservations needed. The other restaurants you can book 2 days ahead (5 days ahead if upgrade to Level).

Hey Bugandboo I have traveled to a lot of all-inclusive resorts and dining reservations are a common problem. I feel like depending on when you are going there will be some difficulties but there are tips to help you avoid this. Most people when they say "there's no reservations available" they really mean
Dining: As soon as your check in the reservations desk for dining is right next to check in so check in to your room and just roll your bags over there and make your dining reservations for the week. Make sure to take a dining reservation even if it isn't for the exact time you want. Once I have a reservation I usually just go a little early and tell them I have a reservation but were there any no shows that I could sneak in earlier. If there were (which there usually are) the will always squeeze you in. Something I found however was that I wouldn't usually end up eating dinner before 9. I would spend time in the beach or in the pool, out on the town. So by the time I get home shower from the chlorine or the salt water and get ready for a nice dinner it would be a little before that time. so it kind of worked out perfectly. Then we would go out on the town and dance all night. The hotel usually has a live band or dj each night in the lobby which is right next to all the dining so when they couldn't fit us in we just hung out there and enjoyed ourselves listening to the music getting a drink.
The hotel music is nice, I enjoyed it however my group does like to party a little hard when on vacation so we usually prefunked at the Melia and then hit the town for clubbing all night. at night the buses don't run so a taxi runs from $15-20 and you pretty much can only get them at the front of your hotel. The hotels there are more spread out and this is the only place within walking distance that you can hail a cab so this is pretty much the rate you'll get because they aren't competing with other Taxi's around them.
During the day you can jump on a jouvert which there is a bus stop right in the front of the hotel. It will take you into town I forgot how much we paid I know it was like a dollar lol so cheap. It will take you into downtown which is 5 minutes. Fish fry is right there too which is so much fun especially going into the night. the night we went there was live music (small fish market on the beach with tons of food). There is shopping here too.
hope that's helpful.
