Many travelers consider the Courtyard Nassau Downtown/Junkanoo Beach hotel to be overpriced, with the value and services not meeting the expected standards, including some unexpected costs. While the cleanliness generally satisfies guests and rooms offer ocean views, complaints about noise, outdated decor, and maintenance issues are not uncommon.
The amenities receive mixed reviews, with the location near the beach and downtown being a highlight. The hotel's atmosphere is often described as lackluster, and though the staff's friendliness is frequently commended, service can be hit or miss.

Detailed Reviews
This location was perfect for our family funeral event which is always difficult to handle but excellent for the business we had to complete while in Nassau during the surround days. The front desk staff friendly on every request. Housekeeping attentive and the restaurant bar staff made our sad days happy with their smiles and their speedy service Clinton Davis GM cares about his associates and his guests and so it flows through to us the guest. We have stayed here before and while there are fancy more expensive options we could afford we will keep our loyalty to Marriott. Take care of your people and they will take care of your business. Much love and care for the hurricane Dorian victims of Abaco and Freeport..continue to show them care...it is noticed

Clean, tidy and very convenient Hotel to the beach and downtown Nassau.
Staff so friendly snd helpful especially the front desk team Samantha & Beverly 💋 I was travelling ( via Nassau ) to the Turks & Caicos , and the ladies where so helpful in locating the Covid 19 PCR testing clinic ( 10 minute walk from hotel ) and all my required paperwork , etc. Etc to complete my ongoing journey/business trip.
The amenities and food/dining are still on a reduced menu , but a good choice ( Bar food & Sslads) but as the Vovid protocols relax more, I am sure the dining service and menu will improve with even more choice…
The rooms are a good size , with a desk and chair/footstool relaxer, fridge, safe and plenty of USB socket options in the room to charge your gadgets.
I had rooms 414 & 422 / 4 th floor , overlooking the pool and directly over to Junkoona Beach , but make a note that there is a main road between hotel, pool and the beach… occasionally a big truck would pass by, quite noisy but not constant…. And if you pop over to the beach
You wouldn’t know it was there 👍
Cute, neat, tidy , great downtown located hotel, right on the beach …,
If I had to gripe, it would be that no shower gel provided in the room,,, you get shampoo, lotion, hand soap.. so you could buy a bar of Dove shower soap on the lobby shop or bring your own shower gel 🤣
Would I stay again , definitely 👍🙌👍

Nice hotel, clean, contactless check-in, friendly and helpful staff. Good choice of drinks that come with the room and nice selection for breakfast. Breakfast isn't free and pretty pricey for breakfast alone, but it is the only option unless you are leaving the hotel. I enjoyed my oatmeal, orange juice, and hot tea, but hardly a $17 breakfast.
The pool seemed nice but closed at 6 pm and hardly enough time for me to use it. The hotel was located close to Arawak Cay so I could go get fish fry for dinner. It was a nice walk by the beach and seemed relatively safe during the day but not necessarily at night.
The hotel is located across the street from Junkanoo Beach. My room had a nice view of the beach and water.
Had to be moved to a different room when the AC was making a loud clicking noise.
All in all, a nice stay for a Marriott. Just needed a one night stay before leaving on a cruise.

I just spent two nights at the Courtyard Marriott in Nassau. Shame on Marriott for even having this hotel under their name. People please do not stay here because you will be disappointed. The hotel is very outdated and in need of maintenance everywhere.
Just a few of my complaints; Upon arriving the hotel safe in the room was locked. The front desk said they would send someone up and they never came. There was no iron in the room which I had to request. There was not cool/cold water in the bathroom faucet so I brushed my teeth with hot water. There was no hot water in the shower. The room was about 100 degrees upon entering and took an hour to cool down. The refrigerator in the room was broken and did not work. The light on the desk was broke. They have a crappy one serving coffee maker with packs of Folgers. At breakfast they said they couldn't prepare simple omelette. For real? And to top off the horrible stay my morning of check out I got locked out of the room and had to wait 30 minutes for a technician to open the door.
At $250.00 a night this is a Marriott disgrace. Please do not take the risk and stay here.

+1
We had 3 rooms for one night. One poolside, one on 5th floor and one on 6th floor. First impression…very tired. There was no signage on the floors except main floor. Room had issues, all 3 of them. Poolside room had no working lights on mirror only fan light. 2nd room had broken furniture and 3rd room had noisy air unit that we turned off and we opened our window. There is a resort fee charged but I have no idea what for other than 2 complimentary drinks per room. No beach towels, furniture worn snd dirty and pool needing dire remodel. All exit doors are chained and entry and exit is by main floor. This is probably done for safety reasons but God forbid a fire broke out. With no escape routes this is a death trap in the making. Corporate Marriott needs to come visit this place because it certainly is a blemish, and that is putting it mildly!

We weren’t sure what to expect based on reviews. I wanted to write this review so readers have a reasonable idea of what to expect. After a 20 minute taxi ride (confirm the fare with your driver beforehand, should be $36 for 2 pax w 2 bags) we arrived and our check in was warm and welcoming. You could tell the lobby area was in the process of being renovated. Walking down the corridor to the elevator was a different story, the walls are in desperate need of paint & repairs and the carpet needs replacement. However, we understand that a renovation is done in phases, with priority placed on rooms and common areas first. Our room was very clean and redone, except for the tub which needs refinishing. Comfortable bed and quiet. There are only Juliet balconies at the hotel (and seemingly every hotel in Nassau) so we relaxed by the pool in the covered patio area which was lovely. If you’re expecting a resort pool, don’t. The pools are basic and the furniture is new and clean. If you want a resort pool, you can pay $110 pp to use the Margaritaville pool. Junkanoo beach is not a white sand instagram Caribbean beach, it’s for cruise visitors and locals, so there’s trash, kiosk restaurants and bars, vendors and loud music blaring.
The food at the hotel was outstanding- very large portions and the bar is fully stocked. Be aware the food takes quite a while to prepare (every restaurant we went to also took a long time).
The very best part of the hotel was Clyde, the GM, and his fantastic team of employees. Everyone was so friendly and polite with huge smiles and hellos. Clyde is in the lobby all day long greeting guests and asking how they’re enjoying their stay. He also has great restaurant tips (Cricket Club).
In summary, the hotel is not a luxurious resort. It’s a new property for Marriott and they are in the process of bringing it up to the level Marriott customers are used to. The staff is outstanding, the food and service excellent, location convenient and the price is in line for a tourist area.

We stayed last night and I must say everything was awesome. It all started with being greeted by Kimberly at the reception desk. She is extremely pleasant and assisted us with everything we required, including suggested areas to visit and eat on the beach.
The hotel is directly across from the beach and walking distance to Fish Fry (lots of great restaurants and bars) downtown and the dock where the cruise ships come into. We actually watched them come in and out of the harbour from our room.
We will be staying here again when we return from one of the southern islands.
I highly recommend this hotel.

The people of the Bahamas are incredibly kind and welcoming, including the front desk staff. We stayed in April during Covid. We had to get a test to return to the USA and the front desk helped us locate a clinic where tests were only $22. Room was good, but keep in mind it's a beach hotel and not quite as nice as Courtyards in the States. Across the street, you'll find a small, nice beach with food stands. Many stands are closed but Pedro over at Gloria's was AMAZING! He made great drinks and got us lunch. The hotel did provide chairs and towels to take to the beach but they aren't lounge chairs. Pedro can help you find beach folks that will rent chairs to you.
If you choose to stay at the pool, there are two nice pools with nice lines by them on site.
The picture is the view from our room.

The Courtyard by Marriott is in the process of being 'renovated' but the hotel is still lacking...we found several roaches in our room, plus the water in the shower was very rusty when you first turn it on. The ventilation is poor, especially if you pass through the dining area, it smells like old burnt grease. I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay here again.

Room was clean and shower was hot. Keeping in mind the age of the property and the fact that it is in one of the most in demand destinations in the region I think it is still value for the money. Bring your own water bottles for the rooms because $4 USD per 16oz bottle at the shop in the lobby is no joke. The staff were pleasant and the free drink is always appreciated, however I did not take them up on it.

The hotel can get them for you.
No, we ordered a shuttle service separately
We stayed there for 9 days in April, 2022. We asked about chairs for the beach, and the very nice lady at the front desk actually went into a room behind the desk and brought out two camp/tailgate chairs that we could use for free. I assume they had been left in a room. We never felt unsafe, did not experience any crime personally, and would stay there again.
