We stayed in a Queen Street room. The hotel is excellent, very convenient to bars, restaurants and the beautiful Cruz Bay sunsets. Adam made sure we had everything we needed for a stress free week at the Wharfside Inn. Our room was perfect with a comfortable bed and a great relaxing shower, perfect for cleaning up and relaxing after a long day at the beach.

What a wonderful place to stay! First, the staff: About a week before our arrival, I received a phone call checking to see if we had any questions. When we arrived, we were several hours early, so they held our bags and we grabbed breakfast at the restaurant downstairs overlooking the water. Amazingly, we received a text that our room was ready around noon! The staff was a text away at any minute and were super friendly and helpful. Next, the room: everything was new and clean, and special custom touches added to the vibe. A cute retro fridge, super comfortable bedding, high-tech keyless touch pad entry, and even local candy, artesian water, & a bottle of Prosecco to welcome guests! Every detail was attended to in design, construction, and hospitality. And finally, the location: Staying here means you are in walking distance to all of Cruz Bay - the ferry, water sports, restaurants, bars, shopping, Mongoose Junction, and taxis to take you to beaches and anywhere else you’d like to visit. We are so glad we found this gem and will definitely stay here again!

Wharfside Village Hotel and their staff exceeded our expectations! The staff was incredible, our room was gorgeous, and the housekeeping was impeccable! If you’re looking for high-quality and convenience in Cruz Bay, this is it. From a Nespresso Vertuo machine in our room (maybe the icing on the cake for me), to the high-end linens, toiletries and furniture, the beauty and quality of Wharfside Village Hotel will bring us back again and we’ll recommend to anyone staying on STJ. We were walking distance from our favorite restaurants and hiking trails. We slept so well in the most comfortable bed, and our room was quiet and dark through the night, even being located above the bars. Dawn, Adam, and the rest of their team made an already excellent experience even better! Every little detail was so thoughtful, including the refreshing water and beach towel stations in each building entry. We highly recommend and can’t wait to come back. Thank you Wharfside, for an amazing experience! What a great addition to Cruz Bay!

We just got back from a week long stay so I will start with the good highlights. This hotel is extremely clean and modern and the staff is very nice. The location is perfect as it’s right in downtown and close to everything. The taxi stand is right around the corner for access to beaches for about $12 per person. You can also rent a jeep for a day like we did so we could explore the Coral Bay side of the island.
The room itself was nice and clean. They provide a refrigerator stocked with complimentary water and Prosecco. There is a coffee maker with coffee pods and creamer. They supply cotton pads, q tips and ample toiletry products.
We were on the road side of the hotel and could not hear the music from the bars below- overall it was pretty quiet. You also cannot hear other guests which is nice.
Onto the not so great parts-
We booked a room without a balcony as we didn’t plan on spending much time in the room. What I didn’t realize is there was no sitting area-l in the room- you had to sit on the bed.
There is no clothing storage so you have to live out of your suitcase- there is a hanging area but that doesn’t work for shorts/ t shirts small items etc.
I agree with a previous reviewer- the a/c and humidity is an issue and that’s compounded by the fact that they have foam mattresses that hold heat and moisture. Neither my husband nor I had a good night sleep any of the 7 nights we were there. The a/c units are oversized so they don’t run in cooling mode long enough to remove the humidity from the room. (We own an HVAC company so we understand how it works) We would wake up completely drenched in sweat every morning- we are talking soaked through our clothing and sheets. Our clothing hung in the closet was also damp from the high humidity. I hung a wet bathing suit up to dry Sunday and it was still damp when we left the next Saturday. This is an issue that should be addressed- I want to sleep when on vacation and we would dread going to bed at night.
Amenities- there really aren’t any. Yes there a beach but no one uses it- you are on display in front of all the beach bars and next to moored boats. I was aware as we have been to Cruz Bay before so it was not a surprise. There was no beach furniture or lounge area outside. If we wanted to sit and relax, there was no where to hang out.
Overall I would say a night or 2 stay would be ok but a week doesn’t work. If you are a hot sleeper, you probably won’t sleep well. Next time we visit we will go back to renting a villa.

Thanks for the feedback. We are glad to hear that you would return despite your concerns. We always welcome criticism and wish we knew during your visit there was an issue as we would have addressed your A/C right away. The rooms are advertised as is so we apologize if wasn't clear when you booked the queen room without patio seating. We hope to have you back and welcome you to experience the beach views from your patio or the deluxe rooms with interior seating, dresser drawers and desk space.

The Wharfside Hotel is absolutely wonderful. The hotel is so clean, very well maintained and the balcony is a relaxing way to start & end every day. The location is perfect. The ferry from Red hook St. Thomas departs steps away from the hotel. We were greeted immediately by the hotel manager upon arrival. Adam was incredible, he walked us to our room, showed us how to operate everything and gave us great local info. We had complimentary snacks & drinks in our room (& Nespresso coffee maker). Rooms are cleaned daily and stocked with all the essentials (blowdryer, toiletries, steamer, robes, umbrella, safe). Beds are comfortable, noise canceling balcony doors and air conditioner worked well. Tons of shopping, restaurants and bars are only steps away. Mongoose junction was a safe 5 min walk. Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay and all the other beaches were a quick taxi; which are easily assessable steps from the hotel. The beaches are so beautiful and everything we ate was delicious. Manager was kind enough to hold our bags after checkout for a late departure. Highly recommend this hotel. Thank you Adam and Wharfside staff for a great stay!

We had a gathering of extended family on St. John and 8 of us stayed at the Wharfside Village Hotel. We all have very positive reviews. The rooms, while small, are modern and bright. Staff was great about meeting guests outside for check in. The electronic keypad entry system meant that you weren’t fumbling around for a room key.
The location was perfect. Steps from the ferry, cabs, shops and restaurants.

There are many good things about staying here. The view and location can't be beat. Easy walking to many stores, groceries, and restaurants, and we felt safe doing so. There is a good fridge in the room, and the terrace facing the bay was our favorite place to be. There was also nice welcome goodies. Not so great was that there is no parking, but hopefully there will be when construction on the building is done. No noise problems from this. There was an on demand hot water device under the sink, but even turned up all the way, the shower water was only lukewarm. Dawn was always available to help us, or get help.

Amazing hotel!
We’ve been coming to St. John for years, staying at different locations, and this is simply the best! The service was perfect, the team ready if we had questions or needed anything (even available via text), hotel sparkling clean, and perfect location!
They thought of every detail in the amenities and design of the room and we loved our balcony. We were in the closest room to the RumHut/Beach Bar area and the room was silent- so quiet at night.
We’ve already booked our return trip next year!

Lovely property on the beach in an excellent location if you want to be close to the ferry. We stayed in a small queen room / street view (you will also get some street noise on and off) Check in and communications with all staff were A+, Adam showed us to our room & had helpful information. Extra touches such as robes in the room, towels for the beach & complimentary goodies were all very much appreciated. Property is right in the middle of restaurants & shopping. No parking - No pool. My only suggestion if considering & booking is to verify in writing room rate, fees & taxes.

We can’t say enough good things about the Warfside and the folks that make it a great place to stay. It’s convenient to the ferry and all the Cruz Bay amenities, literally walking distance to everything.
The rooms were comfortable and spacious with all the little details thought out. The beds were incredibly comfortable, as were the linens. In-room espresso and the fridge stocked with still and sparkling water made our stay even more enjoyable. To top it off there is an incredible harbor view and a sugar sand beach waiting for you every morning.
Dawn, you and your team were so friendly and helpful that it made our visit outstanding.
