Let's start with all the positives of this resort.

Grounds, absolutely beautiful, amazing pool, clean big beach. This resort is located in a bay so the water is calm and there is plenty of shallow water to enjoy. There were plenty of chairs and lots of room to not feel crowded. Shade and sun spots and a nice area to snorkel off to the left, which my husband did and said it was good.

Check in and check out were seamless. Plenty of parking as we had rented a car, two nice restaurants on site. We got pizza one night and it was good/average. We enjoyed drinks at the fancy restaurant and drinks at the pool/beach bar. All of the staff was courteous, helpful and attentive. Even once we were stopped by security to verify we were guests at the resort which didn't bother us it actually made us feel good that this person was doing their job.

Location. This resort is located on the east end right by Red Hook. It's tucked back in a quieter area of the east end which is fantastic, close to the ferry, tons of restaurants and there is an abundant amount of other great beaches very close, like Sapphire, (busy beach) Lindquist $7 per person (quieter beach) and Coki, must see beaches with sparkling amazing water.

Rooms, here's where things get a little less desirable but by no means should it deter you from enjoying this resort. There are many many rooms. We ended up as far back as you could get. Now I did not request anything and I believe maybe I should of shared my thoughts at check in or made a few requests. Inside the kitchen was very well equipped. We had a full kitchen studio. Bath was large enough, had hot water, nice in room safe, washer and dryer (this was helpful) large kitchen, ice maker in the freezer, large patio, black out curtains, and a murphy bed. View so so due to us being as far back as you could go. This murphy bed was not very comfortable, at times it felt like your head was lower than your feet. We propped pillows to make it work. I feel like the mattresses might need to be upgraded. The only other thing that needs some work is you can hear the neighbors very easily. I was even woken by someone's cell phone alarm. I'm not sure if it's due to the murphy beds being in the wall or the fact that there were doors to other rooms on either side but that was a bit annoying.

Other than that this resort is 4 stars and definitely suits all travelers. We traveled as a couple and would go back to this resort without hesitation. We stayed a week and felt very at home. Thank you Elysian and St Thomas for the hospitality.

Club Wyndham Elysian is a hidden gem. There are 2 delicious restaurants (both had happy hour) and a beautiful private beach. We stayed in the studio loft and were pleasantly surprised. It had 2 bathrooms, 1 king and 1 queen Murphy bed. All linens, pots, pans and dishes were included along with a hair dryer plus a washer and dryer. They provided transport from the lobby to our rooms. The pool is heated and beautiful. There’s onsite taxis and most excursions picked us up from the resort. Bring plenty of cash because no one has change. We were unable to walk anywhere from this resort, but we used taxis. They offer free parking. I’m giving this wonderful resort 4 stars because it needs a little renovation to be up to Wyndham’s standards that we are use to. However we will be back!

As a Worldmark owner, I'm familiar with the expected amenities and found the Elysian to be mostly up to par. Considering this resort was hit hard by a recent hurricane and closed for a period of time, the facilities and grounds look great. The 2 on-site restaurants are convenient and can meet the needs of casual and up-scale diners. We enjoyed both, but mostly visited Sangria's for their pizza, sandwiches, and drinks. Leo in the beach hut was helpful and friendly. We signed up for a kayak excursion at her suggestion and it was fun!

I was disappointed to not have a washer and dryer in our unit, but we were able to use the coin-operated machines in the laundry room. The "partial kitchen" and tiny refrigerator also meant we needed to eat more meals out as there wasn't capacity for much meal preparation. The rest of the unit was updated and spacious enough for the 2 of us. It was nice to have an air conditioned respite after the hot and humid outdoor adventures. The staff was friendly and helpful each day when we requested a taxi or had other needs.

The pool looked amazing although we never used it. We spent more time on the beach there at Cowpet Bay and enjoyed relaxing in the provided chairs. It was nice to have the pool bar a few steps away on the weekend too. Although it's not a great snorkeling site, the bay is a nice spot to cool off and watch the activities going on with the boats.

The Elysian was a good location for accessing Red Hook and the ferry to St. John, where we enjoyed some beautiful beaches and took a snorkel boat tour.

My wife and I stayed here for 9 mostly terrible nights from late January through early Feb. Signed a non-refundable/non-changeable deal, otherwise would have bailed out. The noise here is unbearable. At night we had party neighbors in the room next door keeping us up for 3 days. In the morning, for 3 other days, some overlapping with the above, early risers in room above us got up at 6-615am. Unbeknownst to them, when they sat on their patio and moved their metal chairs around constantly, the sound resonated through the floors like a ship horn. After sliding their chairs, they'd lift and bang them on floor, then slammed their sliding door shut. This sequence would repeat every 5-10 minutes for 1- 1 and 1/2 hours. Ear plugs and pillows over our heads didnt help. During the day the leaf blowers and tree trimmers worked for hours closeby. Constant loud noises morning, day and night.

We went to the front desk and complained and exchanged vmails with the manager who never followed up. Also complained to night security that neighbors were in violation of "quiet policy" from 11pm to 7am, but to no avail. There is no concern here for guests. Front desk was not even apologetic and punted to the manager who was not available and unresponsive to calls.

On the positive side, beach was great. The standard studio king room was small but adequate. Red Hook location was pretty good. But for the price tag, it was the worst price-performance I have ever seen in my life (and I am an experienced traveler over 40+ years). Did not live up to a premium resort standard but priced at very high end. A better option would be a sleeping bag on their beach if you value a good night’s sleep. Seriously, would recommend you look elsewhere for a relaxing vacation with fair value for the money. I've had much better Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Ill experiences in my years of biz travel.

The information on the website we booked through isn’t updated. We went down there thinking we’d have to pay $22 per day resort fee. This is incorrect. We had to pay $25 per unit per night fee plus $14 per night energy fee for a total of $273 for our seven day stay.

The resort is located on the eastern end of the island away from everything….you’re not in walking distance of anything. There’s no airport shuttle so you have to get a shared taxi to and from the airport which cost us $48 each way. It would benefit you to rent a car but driving over there can be challenging because of all the hills, mountains and winding roads. Very fee parts of the island is flat land. Taxi service charges per person riding and per luggage. Taxi to the closest grocery store was $9 each way.

The property is beautiful and well kept. The room was a good size and the kitchen was self sufficient. I especially loved having a washer and dryer in the room. The pool was beautiful, not your typical shape with a volley ball net over an area in it. It has a bunker area you can sit in to avoid the sun. There is also a hot tub area. Don't be too alarmed if you see iguanas strolling around the pool or the property. There are two restaurant on the property. Sangria, a bistro type bar restaurant and the Caribbean Fish Market restaurant. Both restaurants were pricey.

There is a beach area but we didn’t use it because the seaweed was piled up in mounds along the waters edge to about two feet up the sand on the beach and in the the water. The tractor came along and attempted to clear it away but was unsuccessful. On our last day it mostly cleared itself away.

We rented a condo here through Airbnb (check out Nancy’s properties - highly recommend her!) in building C. Great views of Cowpet Bay. Despite being there on a popular spring break week, the resort wasn’t overly busy, which was nice. LGBTQ friendly - my partner and I felt very safe and welcome. Very family friendly (read: kids everywhere). Our 11, 12, and 15 year olds had a great time. Pool and beach are both nice. Very calm sandy beach is a little rocky and grassy in spots, but they do a good job of cleaning up the seaweed, so there is plenty of clear blue water for swimming, wading, and splashing. There’s an activity spot with rental kayaks, snorkel gear, and other water sport equipment. We snorkeled several times right off the beach and saw lots of colorful fish, sea urchins, star fish, conch shells. and a variety of coral. Restaurants on site are both good. We did one fancy night out at Caribbean Fish Market and several lunches at the casual Sangria’s. One negative is that the property is not very accessible for individuals with physical disabilities. No elevators, lots of stairs. But we would definitely come back!

The resort is well maintained inside and out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room, although top of the hill had a great balcony with a view of the bay. The pool is terrific as is the hot tub. Plenty of access to food and drinks. The beach is clean and has lots of chairs. There are rocks on the ocean floor so getting in the water is a bit difficult, but once your in that clean warm water, its worth the effort. Will be back for another great vacation real soon! Caution when using the car service, if the driver is NOT a "taxi", you will get ripped off, a driver in a "ford explorer" charges almost double what a "taxi" will charge. We paid $50 to go to the airport from the hotel, but paid $34 from the to get to the hotel. to go 2 blocks he charged $20, when it was told to me it was $14 by an employee, won't use him on our next trip, big rip off!!

We were a group of eight and we stayed at the resort for 4-nights. I will book the room with the full kitchen if I return to this resort. Eating out every day for multiple meals was pricey. We enjoyed the customer service at the restaurants located on the property (Sangria and Caribbean Fish Market). I got a Pain Killer at the various locations around the island and the Pain Killers at the Elysian pool bar were the best out of all the ones that I tried.
I want to send a special thank you to Elysian's concierge, Moy. Moy was personable and assisted our group with arranging excursions and finding different restaurants to enjoy. He was able to arrange a driving Jeep Tour on short notice. He sent a message to Ms Lisa of Jamming Jeeps at 930pm and by 11pm, Ms Lisa had our group booked for an 11am tour for the following day. Our group was very grateful for Moy's hospitality and kindness. Elysian, you have a good employee, so take good care of him.
I also want to thank D'Ambassador at the Caribbean Fish Market. He made our group feel welcomed on our first night in St Thomas and throughout our stay. His name suits him well.

What a joy to stay here at the Elysian! Nestled on the hills of St.Thomas, overlooking Cowpet Bay, is Paradise, in Paradise. The rooms are modern and spotlessly clean. The staff is pleasant, professional, helpful, and attentive, treating each guest as though he/she is the only one needing attention. Transportation is easily accessible and arranged by the hotel staff, so renting a car is unnecessary. The ferry ride to St. Johns is scenic and beautiful.

Thank you to Kenoi and the entire team who elevate the peace and luxury of a stay at Elysian to even greater heights.

This resort is very nice, the room was nice and clean and the staff was very attentive. There are two good restaurants on the property. One reviewer said that there wasn’t any ice but that obviously has changed because they do have an ice machine near the tennis court. We were lucky to get a room with kitchen and stackable washer/dryer which came in very handy. . One big problem though …. Some kind of bug is either in the room or down at the beach but I suspect the room. Each day I would wake up with multiple bites all over my body. Today is the day we are leaving after having been here for a week. I probably have over 30 bites (some are large welts). When my husband asked the front desk about it, they have no clue what it could be. This is why I am not giving this place 5 stars. If you decide to stay here, bring lots of bug spray!

We decided against a rental car for this trip. We were only finding cars around $750 for the week, which seemed like a lot. Plenty of taxis around. We ended up with the same taxi who hangs out at the Elysian Beach Resort and was a great guy. Cost was about $30.00 (there and back) every time we went to dinner though...but we had some really great meals! :)
