This is basically a painted shack precariously attached to the rockface, directly above the beach. And it was fantastic! Don't go to Blue Mango if you're looking for five-star material comforts, but we stayed in Sea Steps and loved it: the location, the quirkiness, the birdlife, views over the bay and boats/fishing activity, the sunsets. Rebecca was very easygoing (payment...

What a blissful experience at Blue Mango in Tobago. A home away from home. This is a tranquil location where you can leave everything behind and enjoy the rustic enchantment of seaside cottages located in mountainside coves. A simple and wonderfully quaint atmosphere lends itself to complete relaxation. Superior Creole cuisine is offered daily which I thoroughly enjoyed (especially the...

My husband and I enjoyed our two weeks immensely. We had the first two nights in 'Sweet Point' and then the final twelve nights in the 'Sea Steps', and both were just perfect. I loved the very basic accommodation, simply because I find hotels too antiseptic, too much like any other hotel the world over. But these little cottages were...

My husband and I stayed in the Almond Tree Cottage during our time at the Blue Mango. The accommodations were simple, but lovely and had a beautiful, panoramic view of Castara Bay. As mentioned in previous posts, if you’re looking for an all-inclusive, luxury resort this is not your place. However, if you’re looking for a relaxing retreat at a...

A complicated review to write. Blue Mango is a simple, laid back, very cool collection of structures built by Colin, over a period of years. We wanted to stay at the Sea Step Cottage because that seemed to have the best raves, but were assigned to the Almond Tree apartment instead. Best views of all, probably, having a "front porch"...

Back again to our favourite place on the planet. The rustic Caribbean charm, location and laid back atmosphere make blue mango a magical destination. The owners, Rebecca and Colin, welcomed us back as old friends or even family. Rebecca's cooking was as yummy as ever and she also gave my wife lessons on the baking of her wonderful pumpkin bread....

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Sea Steps Cottage (as well as a couple of nights in the Sweet Point, but more on that later) for two weeks in October. We arrived late evening and everything was ready, key in the door. However, the front door lock did not work but that turned out to be one of the...

Blue mango is situated on the beautiful bay Castara, but I would not advise anyone to go there. Being robbed for the first time in my life on my honeymoon at Blue mango in the Trinity cottage is not the sole reason. One of the owners found it inconvenient to give us our money back until the police got involved....

We stayed here in Jan/13 & loved everything. Couldn't have been happier. The only thing is that our "to do list" was pretty much ignored because we were completely happy doing almost nothing. The view from Seascape Cottage was hypnotizing. Something was always happening on the beach & we spent a lot of time watching the beach in a daze....

We loved our stay at Blue Mango cottages! The property is a bit run down but that is part of its charm. Rebecca was friendly and accommodating, although we didn't try her cooking like other reviewers have and I somewhat regret that now. It felt very Robinson Crusoe-like, going on little walkways and down steps to a private little cove...

“Sea Steps was extremely close to the waves and can be hard to endure when trying to sleep.”

“Sea Step Cottage is probably still the best; certainly the largest, but they try to reserve it for larger groups. Almond Tree apartment was wonderful. NOTE: The "apartment" is really just one studio room, but cleverly divided so that there is a semi-separate cooking area, a bathroom, of course, the mosquito netted bed. Third choice would probably be the apartment adjacent to it (the name of which I do not know), which is, I gather, slightly larger, but not quite such spectacular views.”
