The owners, Christin and Mark, who live onsite, did not want to reopen until the place was perfect. It is, right down to the landscaping. With the replacement of some outmoded island infrastructure, internet and phones work better than ever.
Alain is at the pool bar. If you ha

My wife and I are big fans of this hotel, having honeymooned here and stayed a bunch of times. As repeat guests like so many others, are hearts were broken to learn of the damage to this special place. I reached out to one of the owners who assured me they would be back. We us

Where to start? First of all we are many time repeat guests. I think it's safe to say others like us might understand this review better. Grand Case was basically leveled after Irma. And, it shows. But, what also shows is rebirth of many restaurants and shops. The streets wer

L'Esplanade hotel was kind to let us stay before they fully reopen after hurricane Irma, and it is as splendid a place to be as ever (except Alain is not yet back at the piscine bar)! A stroll on the beach today, a great meal at Spiga tonight; St. Martin awaits those who love tur

Just got back from my 3rd trip to St Martin/L'Esplanade for the Heineken Regatta. I absolutely love this hotel. Great location, sunset views and a short walk to the beach. I particularly love how peaceful the grounds are, especially by the pool and ti temple.

Hi, Is the hotel open after the hurricane, I hope you did not suffer too much damage. Where can we find information on which hotels are open after Christmas?
We aren’t currently open. We didn’t get hit too badly but we’ve decided to close through January at this point, it just made the best sense. The island needs a little time to recover in general. I believe Princess Heights is taking reservations. Good luck and hope to welcome you in the future.

Hi there, We want to rent a car. Will a Canadian Driver's Licence be sufficient enough for driving in the island? thank you. Carol
Hi there, By reading everyone's comments, it seems that renting a car is a must since we will stay in this hotel for 9 days. Please help us for the following questions: 1) Is driving and parking easy on the island? 2) Has anybody have experience diving with the dive shop called Octopus diving? Can we use the hotel shuttle car to ship our diving gears to the diving shop? 3) Any suggestions to tour the island or nearby island? 4) I assume that Euro is the currency for the island, right? Thank you everyone. Carol and Ray
Hi Carol and Ray, Hopefully these answers help! -We used USD while we were on the island. All of our bills had Dollars and Euro conversions on them, which was helpful -We rented a car for three days during our stay. Driving was not difficult at all. Parking was hard in some spots, but it's clearly marked where you can park. We had a smaller car while there, so it made driving a breeze.
