Ate breakfast here overlooking the beautiful views of the Pitons and Soufriere below. Lots of food! The fried bread dough was sinful and the omelettes were very good. Went home with fresh sausages...delicious!

Stayed here on a girls' getaway weekend after finding a deal on Groupon. The resort is way up on the mountainside which is an interesting car ride to get to (about 10 min from town of Soufriere) The views from the resort are absolutely amazing! Restaurant was a bit expensive for what you got but all food in St Lucia...

An absolutely beautiful resort with breathtaking views of the Pitons, even from our hotel room, and the infinity pool was amazing! The perfect location for a relaxing escape in paradise. The hotel is quite secluded up on the mountains, which is great for some peace and quiet, although it can make getting about quite tricky, so you need to be...

The view you get from the pool is outstanding. We were given a superior room to celebrate B-day and it was fantastic. The place is special, with a rural feel and friendly staff. It doesn't feel like an anonymous resort nor a posh establishment. There are animals in the property, and also sone interesting plants. The infinity pool is part...

I have very mixed feelings about my stay at this resort. While the views are incredibly stunning, and perhaps even better than you see in the pictures, my issue comes more with the customer service side of this hotel. When I called to book this hotel, the gentleman working in the office informed me that there would be a free...

We could not have been more delighted with our stay at La Haut. It's beyond beautiful--the pictures do not even do this place justice. The infinity pool is like nothing I've ever experienced--literally makes you gasp when you see it. Swimming there overlooking the mountains and town and beach and ocean is about the most beautiful experience imaginable. The rooms...

This hotel's trump card is evident the minute you arrive: the view. The beautiful pictures on this site of swimming pools in the foreground and the glorious Piton peaks in the distance are not deceptive; the location is really that gorgeous. One can see the Pitons from either of the two pools and from all the rooms, which have either...

The view from the balcony was stunning. The room was nice and big, and it was convenient to have a mini-kitchen in the room. The quality of service was a bit poor, I thought. We booked for three people, but there were only stuffs for two people in the room(e.g. towels). It took a night and half-day for them to...

We had the whole 2 floors cottage #7 with kitchen. Location beats all flaws. I liked the quietness of the place and beautiful views. I liked huge balcony with hammock and small table that looked more like stool, where we had breakfast and supper enjoying the landscape. I liked full kitchen with the stove and big fridge, microwave and electrical...

This Hotel was really nice.. We stayed in Cashew 1 and the views were spectacular. This room is a bit far from the main area and so we had to do a bit of walking. but the grounds are very rustic and there is alot to see and explore. The resort provides food but it is sub par by the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Haut or Le Haut literally means "the height" in Patois, a French dialect that is commonly spoken by St. Lucians. La Haut sits on a hill overlooking Soufriere, one of the oldest towns in St Lucia.Part of a 52-acre former coconut and cocoa estate, the main Guest House possesses a unique history. Nearly 100 years old, the main guesthouse was originally a cocoa house used for fermenting and drying cocoa beans hand-picked on the estate. In 1995, the building was converted and refurbished into a 6-room guesthouse. The nearby cottage was a former copra house where coconuts were once processed.Although the rich aroma of cocoa beans no longer wafts through the air, at La Haut you can enjoy the perfume-scented, tropical fauna or the salty breeze that blows off the Caribbean Sea. ... more   less
