Cons: Held against my will. I tried 3x to pay my bill at different points in the morning. Around noon they realized their machine wasnt working. They are 1 hr from the airport. My flight was at 4pm. I was forced to stay in the office (you get buzzed in and buzzed out) until they reached their bank. (130pm) Even after I gave the bank my information there was a 13 digit code the bank needed that was synonymous to the hotel. They were trying to figure out what the number was, looking through books, on the back of machines. The entire time Im asking to leave. They didnt care if I missed my flight and was clear they were not responsible if I did. Around 145pm, they finally let me go. I got to the airport at 245pm for a 4pm international flight. I was mere minutes from missing my plane. Bathrooms are very old and outdated. Construction happening on both sides of the hotel. You will hear road traffic constantly. No swimming/swim at your own risk. While the property is located on the beach, you should not swim. The current is fierce. The water is not clear/that pretty blue in the picture (which is probably why they took the picture from offshore at an angle) You have to take a taxi EVERYWHERE. Nothing is walking distance. Costs from $50US to $180US r/t. Pros: You can hear the sound of the waves. Almost everywherenon the property. Seriously the waters are that strong. The food was good. Only 1 restaurant. Limited menu. If you are putting it your room you will see cost atcheckout…
The view from our room across to turtle bay really made this hotel for us. The room is very comfortable and nice kitchen area with shops close by to you just a five minute walk up the road to the supermarket. I would recommend you hire a car if you stay at this property The room was nice enough and the pool was basic . The beach is literally as you open your door and the only downside to this property is the proximity of the road behind you. But it is on the same stretch as the sandals resort and a few other resorts. For self catering in St Lucia it was nice
We enjoyed the closeness to the beach (the sound of the waves was always in the background) and we stepped right into the waves from the narrow shore in front of our apartment. There was an easy commute to/from the small airport in Castries (which is separate from the major Hewanorra International airport in the south-east). The drawback was the proximity to a noisy major road, but the traffic did not bother us in the apartment we rented. It's not convenient to walk along the main road to go shopping, but there is a small convenience store on site run by the hotel. We got basic supplies there, and the rest when we visited Castries the following day. The apartment had a well-equipped kitchen. We found the staff to be delightful and welcoming. Our apartment was clean and well serviced. It's a place we would happily return to if we visit St. Lucia again. The A/C was a bit hard to calibrate as the blast was cold and powerful when on. The ceiling fan seemed to have only one speed--too fast. Hot water availability and temperature is dependent on the sun--which is good.…
The people were very friendly and room very clean. I would recommend the hotel. The beach is OK. It is brown sand, and can only walk short distance either way. You cannot really walk anywhere due to no sidewalks and much traffic in front of hotel. The 2 pools very small and not heated. Either taxi, or use tour guides. We had a car, we did use it alot but St. Lucia is not the easiest island to run around on.
Very well-appointed and well-located luxurious villas on their own beach, at a surprisingly not very high price. No on-site restaurant but it's a short traffic jam to many restaurants in nearby Rodney Bay. Everyone who works at VBC is so helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again. Their own car rental service is highly recommended. Restaurants at the adjacent Sandals are not open to walk-ins.
We loved this place. Good location on the northwest portion of St Lucia. The rooms were great. Spacious, wonderful furnishings. we didn't use the kitchen, so can't comment on it. Back porch right on the water. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Agree with an other reviewer, WiFi spotty. One of our rooms had a smart TV, so we logged into Netflix in the evenings. Parking was a little tight. If you are driving yourself, you have to turn left out of the parking lot, and then use the nearby roundabout to go south, because of the divided road. A little daunting at first for an American driver.
Wi-Fi was unpredictable even when you are logged it cuts out a lot. The apartments were very clean and modern with a really nice beach to explore. The hot tub was not in order at the time we were there. The staff are very accommodating and professional.
If your are service professionals, like ourselves, and you go on a holiday, you want to receive service on the same par, or even higher. We where visiting our family on the island. I visit Saint Lucia sinds the 1980’S, and this is the first time we have a stay here. We needed a second home to that of our family on the island. Villa Beach Cottages was near, and had a perfect price to quality ratio. After meticulous studies online, we found our second home on Saint Lucia. A few previous guest, that expected a extreme high level of service, had unrealistic expectations. They do not understand that, other cultures give hospitality in a different way. Villa Beach Cottages is a diamond, with a few rough edges. Nothing is perfect, and yes, their are a few minor details that could be designated as flawed. But one thing brings all of that together: Genuine service from the hart, through a smile. And believe me, that is the unique selling point of the Villa Beach Cottages. Their are other Resorts with more perfection and less smiles. And they charge 3 times the price of this hidden gem. My pictures are the proof. Thank you so much for a unforgettable vacation. And creating a home near our family home. Adrian and Patrick…
I have just returned from a week long stay at Villa Beach Cottages. Overall, our stay was good but nothing spectacular. I will break everything down in sections below. PROS -Our Villa was very spacious and located on the top floor, making for a great view of the water. -It was not crowded at all. We enjoyed not having to listen to screaming kids or drunk partiers. -The grounds were very well kept. Someone was always tending to them. -We enjoyed having a kitchen that was fully stocked with plates, bowls, pots, pans, and utensils. We cooked at least once every day. -Most of the staff members are friendly and fun to talk to. Joel and Paul were precious. -It was nice being able to charge taxis to the room. Ask for Claudius or Popo. -It was nice being able to call the front desk and have them make a reservation for you. -You do not have to go to a doctors office or hospital to get your Covid test. They will do it for you the evening before you leave. $75 US per person. -On Friday, we went on a trip with Julian’s Boat Tours. He was set up at Sandals, which is where we loaded and unloaded. This was nice. -The Wifi internet was good most of the time. Loaded very well by the pool and on our balcony. CONS -The location is horrible. I wish we had done more research and realized this before. Only 2-3 restaurants are in walking distance, one being a coffee shop and the other KFC. And that is if you want to walk in the grass on the side of the road with traffic flying beside you. You had to take a taxi everywhere. $10 to the market, $15 to the coffee shop, $30 to any restaurant, $90 to the airport. -The resort is located right on the highway. We were in a two bedroom and the back bedroom with two beds was so loud. I woke up several times during the night and it took a while to fall asleep sometimes because the highway was so loud. The traffic noise was so loud it could be heard in the front bedroom as well, even over the sound of the waves and a fan. The roof was metal so when it rained, it sounded like a hurricane was coming. -If you are looking for a resort feel, do not stay here. You will not be pampered at all. You have to move your own chairs, carry your wet towels and cushions, and do everything yourself. Soaking wet towels and cushions are heavy!! -Our villa was not properly cleaned upon arrival. It is obvious that when you stay by the ocean, it’s not going to be perfectly clean. However, our baseboards were dirty, shelves were dusty, and the floor had not been swept in places. It needed a deep cleaning. -When we arrived, we were told nothing. I have never stayed somewhere where we are not told anything. For example, where to get beach towels, suggestions for the area, resort/condo info, and more. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and were not oriented until late Tuesday afternoon. -We encountered a few rude staff members, specifically some of the girls at the front desk. When we were finally oriented, we weren’t told a few specific things and later in the week when we asked or didn’t know, one of the ladies made a comment about how that was so hard to believe. One day we somehow ended up with 2 towels each (btw you only get 1 each and good luck getting 2) and when we went to trade them out, one of the ladies was just appalled that we had more than 1 each. Smartelic and down right rude comments were a regular. -The kayaks, paddle boards, and ocean equipment items are NOT free. You will get laughed at if you think they are. Very deceiving on the website. -The beach is small and public. There is no room to put chairs or towels. If you walk to the left, you may step on glass. If you walk to the right, you may get yelled at by a Sandals employee even though it’s public. I am a young adult and had several young local men pretty much harass me. One kept asking for my number. One was asking for money and finally had to be ran off by security. SUMMARY We enjoyed our week in St. Lucia at Villa Beach Cottages. If we return to the island, we will check out an all inclusive. We enjoyed the condo style, but for the period of the we stayed, an all inclusive would have been better. We met several people who were staying a month. If you are interested in that, you may enjoy it more.…
We spent 8 nights here at the end of February and enjoyed our stay very much. We had a 2 bedroom top floor villa which had a beautiful balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Waking up each morning in the master bedroom with the door open was magical. The daily sunsets were also a highlight of our stay. Colin and his staff were very helpful and offered good suggestions for activities and restaurants. The only recommendation I would make is that the living and kitchen area were somewhat dated and could use a refresh and it would have been helpful to provide some basic necessities (paper towels, salt). Otherwise highly recommend!!
