My husband and I checked in last week and are still here. One thing impresses us the most is the staff here take very good care of their customers, from front of the house to restaurant as well as house keepers. Smiling face and greeting where ever bumped into one of them. One day we were in town looking to buy postcards, which is surprisingly not easy, couldn’t find any in the market and few shops. We recognised a familiar face, a lady who works at the restaurant, near the market. We asked her, instead of just giving direction she walked with us to the shop! The helpful mentality doesn’t stop inside the hotel! Room facility is a normal three star hotel standard, pools are good, food is also good (I wouldn’t say exceptional). Overall a good place to relax.
The facilities in the hotel are perfectly adequate for a hotel of this rating. Exceptional service was received by Princess, she works both restaurants tirelessly and with wonderful grace, humour and efficiency. She is a delight. Also, in the A la Carte restaurant, the food is good but the service exceptional. Keisha and Kasha provide the most gracious and professional service. The staff are the main attraction at this hotel and made our time there special. A couple less positive points were that the beach the hotel shuttles to is not the greatest, it is next to the domestic airport which had road works and is the closest beach to Castries which meant a few cruisers found there way there. Lastly, the beer at Bel Jou is draft only, I would like the option of bottle or cans to improve the quality or at least offer the option.…
We had a fabulous 10 nights over the new year 30th dec to 9th jan23 All the staff are the best staff we have ever had on any holiday. They and the manager Dean (who walks around from time to time checking that everything is ok while your there) should be very proud the way they run Bel Jou. It shows on how many repeat Guest there are and some staying from 3 weeks to 2 months. Because its a small hotel you talk to most guest that are there during your holiday, but you do not have to if you wanted to keep yourself to yourself. We met the most friendly, warm guests on this holiday and had the best time. Food Is very good, plenty to eat at the buffet, breakfast, lunchtime and dinner. Lunch, set menu at Lulu's. Hummingbird dinner, have to book, so you can mix it up a bit if you get bored of sitting in the same place for every mealtime. All drinks are good including the wine. Bar staff are great. Room we was in was ok, we was in a Garden room, view was a fence panel hiding Lulu's But to be fair we did not have far to get undercover from the very heavy showers we had, yes and it rained liquid sunshine every day, not all the time my I add. It was a large clean room with a large bathroom, walk in shower, bed was comfy, tea and coffee tray, safe, and plenty of hangers and storage. New Years eve was grand affair, the staff worked really hard to give us a great night, with loads of different entertainment going on, good food and a lovely atmosphere and the rain held off, we was so pleased for them/us. There was very good entertainment every night, singers, bands, steel band and DJ, there were people dancing most nights, if its not your thing, there's always people watching. The Bel Jou is really in the middle of nothing and there really is a steep hill up to it. You can feel a bit trapped after a while, so if thats not your thing, maybe this hotel is not for you. Mano runs a shuttle service to town or the beach to escape now and again and there is a tour desk there to book tours. We are so glad we booked the Bel Jou we had a blast and you never know we may be back …
Just got back from 10 days at this fantastic hotel, my only complaint was that 10 days wasn’t long enough! Definitely go for 2 weeks! Everything great here - the food, entertainment, pools, view, but what really makes this hotel special is the staff - they can’t do enough for you and really make the holiday one to remember. Shout out to Samantha, Kidada, Devon and Brendon - thanks for making our holiday so special!!
My stay at bel jou was great!! I recommend anyone who wants to celebrate a birthday to visit bel jou the staff are amazing big up to my waitress Kimberly for her professionalism, bubbly personality and her bright smile through out my dinner!!.I will be coming back to bel jou,I felt at home here.♥️
We spent 10 days over Christmas at Bel Jou Hotel and had an amazing time! The staff really do make this hotel a special place. They are full of enthusiasm which rubs off on everyone! A particular shout out to Brendan, Samantha, Quincy, and Kisha. There were lots of activities laid on during the day, including yoga, pilates, aqua fit and a scavenger hunt. The evening entertainment was also very good. We really enjoyed the steel pans and limbo dancers. The rooms are clean and spacious. We were lucky to be in one with a balcony which overlooked the pool and Caribbean sea! The hotel has two pools, both with ample sun loungers. The top pool had more shade but we loved the bottom pool which has a self service bar, topped up during the day. We can honestly say this holiday is one of the best we've ever had and plan to return for Christmas 2024!…
Amazing customer service! I was treated like a family member from the minute I arrived and it continued throughout my week’s stay. The Manager Dean is very personable from the start and ensures your stay is very satisfactory. The hotel is adequately placed on the island, with amazing views of Castries and the free shuttle bus is ideal to visit their local luscious beach, where a free lounger, soft powdery sands and clear turquoise sea awaits. The staff couldn't do enough to make me feel welcomed well cared for as part of the Bel Jou family. Special mention to staff member Quincy, who made my stay extra enjoyable and showed me the rooftop bar at night for some memorable pictures. Jaffrey, head of entertainment treated us to a Christmas delight of the best steel band on the island, Panasonic, playing Carribean-style Christmas songs and the fire breathers snd limbo dancers were lots of fun! He also takes care of the fabulous yoga and uplifting aqua-aerobic classes. Rondale booked two amazing excursions for me on the island- the Hotel Chocolate (Bean to Bar) boat tour and the dolphin watching- which was magical! Big shout out to the gardeners who keep the grounds looking beautiful and even cut me some fresh aloe vera to help ease my heat rash. Shane was also an amazing member of staff and very kind and helpful throughout my stay. The food at the Hummingbird restaurant was my favourite and highly recommended for a la carte dining. All waiting staff were superb and professional, going the extra mile to make you feel included. I met some amazing guests at this hotel and we had lots of fun by the pool together. Plus the hotel is home to adorable little kittens 🐱 Highly recommend staying here and will be returning as many others do. Thank you to everyone!! …
We stayed for 10 days over Christmas and had a really enjoyable family holiday with our 3 girls in their 20's . I don't normally leave reviews but enjoyed this hotel so much, so relaxing and there were several returning guests, a sign of the good service. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean and we were provided with the fridge I had requested. I have never been away at Christmas before but we had Christmas carols on Christmas eve in the hotel bar and champagne and carols Christmas morning. The food was nice with a good selection. The chef Alvin friendly and they accommodated my daughter's food allergy. We ate at both the a la carte restaurant and the buffet. Both excellent ,plentiful food , Lovely cocktails and all part of the all inclusive. There are 2 pools and enough loungers. The table was decorated , balloons and a cake for my daughters birthday which was a lovely touch as I had mentioned her birthday. The views from the hotel restaurant are amazing as it is at the top of a steep hill. We didn't have a problem walking down the hill to the beach but it is a hot steep incline back. There is a hotel shuttle bus into Castries and also the beach, driven by Manu. Nice beach with free Bel Jou loungers. Perhaps not the hotel for you if you wish to be central to nightlife! I did beginners pilates and yoga every morning with Jafrey who was lovely. We twice took the public bus, helped by Manu to Rogers Bay and Piqeon Island. The bus for Pigeon Island stops at Gros Islet but if you ask the driver he will extend the journey up to Pigeon Island for an extra 10 dollars pp on request We walked the15 mins back along the beach to Gros Islet to get the return bus. At the Landings Hotel just ring the bell for the boat back across the little inlet, although this stops at 6pm. We also took a taxi for 5 for $200 down to the mud baths and waterfalls near Soufriere. It is a windy road and took 1 hour 30 minutes. We also did this a second day to Hotel Chocolate for a 'Tree to bar experience' that was interesting but expensive . Allow 4 hours by the time the chocolate bar is set. We arrived at 12 pm for our 1pm tour in order to have the included lunch first which was 'ok'. Everything is in US dollars although they will accept East Caribbean Dollars. I would definitely recommend this hotel and the amazing staff. …
Loved this hotel! The staff are amazing, all really friendly and attentive to the guests. The food is great, there's options to eat from the buffet or al la carte menu. They provide a shuttle bus service to the beach where they have allocated sun beds, or you can get dropped in Castries where you can get the public bus to places like Gros Islet and Rodney bay if you wanted to. It takes about 15/20 mins to walk but its on quite a steep hill so wouldn't recommend it if you aren't up for a hike! The hotel provided lots of entertainment throughout the day, including yoga and pilates, as well as different evening entertainment. We came as a family but I can see how coming here on your own would also be really great because the staff are so nice and the entertainment is a good place to meet people. The hotel location is up a tropical hillside so it had amazing views. The only thing I'd say is it is quite far from mud baths, hotel chocolate, and the diamond waterfalls. We got a taxi to these locations and it took over an hour and cost us around $200 USD (for 5 people). I'd recommend doing all of these in one day if you wanted to to save multiple trips.…
The best hotel i have ever stayed in. Previous reviews have stated that the friendliness of the staff is the best thing about this hotel and they are not wrong. The manager Dean was always visible and regularly walked around talking to guests ensuring that they had no problems. I can honestly say that not one member of staff was unfriendly throughout our stay. Even the gardeners and maintenance guys gave you a friendly welcome as you passed on the way to the restauarant or bar. A few minor issues were immediately resolved. My partner inadvertently locked us out of the room safe and we reported it to reception on the way back from breakfast, and the maintenanace guy was waiting for us when we arrived back at the room. Waiters, waitresses chefs and various other members of staff were always willing to join in with the night time entertainment either disco dancing. limbo dancing etc. I am loathe to name individuals as there were so many that went above and beyong the call of duty, but a special shout out to Kimberley and Brendan (six pack) and Samantha, you still owe me a massage!!! The hotel is a bit remote but a free shuttle bus ran on the hour to the town and beach. If you are considering booking this hotel then done hesitate as you will not regret it…
