We didn't stay at the Tropical when we were in St. Bart's but were at Le Village just a few minutes walk away. After flying in from St. Martin, we were in search of cocktails. From our balcony, we heard music, which led us to Tropical. Great bar & drinks & service. Dancing around the pool. Great energy.

If you want to visit St Barth and not break the bank this is your spot. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable with a nice balcony. The staff is friendly and attentive, the woman who worked breakfast service every morning remembered my order after the first day and was very pleasant. I looked forward to my interaction with her...

Stayed here for a night , definitely not worth the price! The patio is dirty , from the chairs to the pillows. Customer service is not too great either, would not recommend and will not come back again.

I stayed here last year as my son come to the Caribbean to play in a football tournament. This was the cheapest hotel on the island so I wasn't expecting much. But the rooms were lovely and had a very tropical feel, with all the rooms opening into the garden in the middle. The staff were really good, even one...

The staff was very nice, Room was immaculate clean with mosquito net over the bed and the room had a small patio overlooking the tropical garden. The morning coffee and breads were a lovely touch. The pool area...

This hotel has all the charm of the real Caribbean. And the best value for money. It is not Eden Rock or a posh American Import; it is simple, beautiful and charming. Very lovely bilingual staff who are warm and friendly; they were helpful with every question. The breakfast is simple but very good, with real french coffee thank goodness! My...

My wife and I and another couple stayed here three nights in May. We really enjoyed our stay here. Tania and Julie at the front desk were very sweet and helpful. The rooms, grounds and pool were pleasant. But the best thing is the location. You can easily walk to Baie St Jean (one of the island's nicer beaches). There...

I travelled to the island to watch my son compete in a football tournament, searching for accomadation in this area is very expensive. But this hotel was most reasonable. I was very happy with my room and the hotel, it was a very comfortable stay. It was local to everything. The staff are amazing, and the gentleman who works there...

If you are looking to be pampered and served hand over foot... this is not your place. This place is clean, comfortable and at the right spot. You are in the heart of St. Jean right above Nikki Beach. There is a lot to do in walking distance. The rooms are small but adequate and nicely decorated. The bed is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
OPENING DECEMBER 3rd 2016 A bohemian-style boutique hotel, the Tropical Hotel has been renovated for the 2016/2017 season. A charming hotel, located just steps from the beach in Saint Jean, the Tropical was recently purchased by a specialized hotel group from France. In Phase I, the new owners decided to update the design in a more contemporary style. As a result, The Tropical Hotel has been transformed into a bohemian chic hotel, in the style one finds in Mykonos, Ibiza, and Saint Barth, a mix between large luxury hotels and small family-run properties. The 22 rooms were recently redesigned from head-to-toe, with new "Rock the Kasbah" furnishings by Philippe XERRI. The decor has simple, clean lines, very natural, and showcasing such materials as wood, cotton, and linen. The design is both simple and sophisticated-a successful reflection of the image of Saint Barth. When it comes to service, the priority is on excellent and personalized service to meet all of the clients' needs. New this year is the addition of a luxury snack service open all day. The food service is by one of the hotel group's subsidiaries, MAMAN NYC, whose menus are created by Michelin-starred chef, Armand Arnal, with salads, tapas, homemade tarts, and cocktails served in a boho-chic ambiance, already popular in New York and Toronto. A wonderful addition to the hotel scene, the new Tropical Hotel is a great place to spend an unforgettable island vacation, while discovering the charms this newly renovated hotel. ... more   less
