We visited La Finca with our children (ages 10 and 14). We chose La Finca because we wanted to immerse ourselves in the local island culture and surround ourselves with the natural beauty of Vieques. We found both at La Finca . . . and (to the dismay of our children) much more! We rented Casa Nueva. It's a spacious...

Thanks for the kind words, and for dealing with what sounds like even your fair share of our local critters! Like the tarantula in the shower! Luckily that is very very rare -- in fact you might be a first! I'm sorry about that! It's a tough decision in the tropics-- to have any house completely free of them requires...

My fiance and I just got back from a quick trip to Vieques and stay at La Finca. We cannot say enough good things - La Finca is like a tropical lake house, filled with kind people, amazing views, and good vibes. While it is very low-key and simple, the rooms are very clean, everything you could want is there,...

The rustic charm of La Finca, the beautiful setting and the warmth of the innkeepers will send you immediately into vacation mode. We loved every minute of our stay. Made friends with all the other guests --even had a dinner party together. The funky spirit of the place is not for everyone, but if you look through the pictures and...

La Finca is one of the most beautiful QUIET spots on the island. The open air living is so pleasant with the trade winds always blowing through. Managers Scott and Bill are the nicest guys ever and oh so helpful every step of the way. Our stay at la Finca was part business and part pleasure. What a perfect place...

I spent the first 9 days of February, 2017, at La Finca. It was totally what I expected from the description and pictures on the website. We were welcomed by Ziggy, Scott, and Bill as soon as we parked our car. We had a tour, had help moving our groceries and bags in to Casa Nueva, and then the quiet...

I've been to La Finca twice and have always taken friends. It's incredibly magical. I have a favorite spot where I love to lay in a hammock and watch the sun come. At night, there is very little light pollution, so the stars are blazing. The buildings are really neat and the place has a laid back and relaxing feel....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Vieques' most beautiful rustic getaway and original eco-tourism destination since 1995....A rare taste of the Caribbean -- the way it used to be, quiet, natural & affordable. Perfect for groups of two to thirty, workshops, family reunions, or romantic getaways for just the two of you. Anyone who likes off the beaten track and wants to experience the Caribbean the way it was meant to be: quiet, natural and affordable. Salt water pool, outdoor showers, hammocks, views and breezes. La Finca is a cluster of handmade houses -- our large wooden main house, Casa Grande, alone can sleep 18-22, but we also have two family size cabanas and two smaller casitas, all on 3 acres of fruit trees & palms, on the off-beat island of Vieques, seven miles from Puerto Rico's eastern shore; a 25 minute flight and a world away from San Juan....We're up in the hills, with beautiful views and tradewinds, three miles away from the bustle of town...Talk about getting away! We're not a hotel, or a b&b ... The finca is our family's own private "finca" that we love to share with like-minded eco travelers -- folks who like things as natural and simple as possible. Our towels don't match, our showers are outdoors (don't worry -- they're private), the skies are jet black and studded with stars, and the property is dotted in coco palms, mangoes, starfruit, bananas, and a dozen hammocks ... Tropical summer camp, quiet and beautiful. Think Swiss Family Robinson... (Please note: Feb-March 2015 renting the whole finca means all houses/cabins with exception of Cabanita and includes 10 bedrooms with 7 baths and can sleep up to 33.) ... more   less
