Everything was good, until I lost an item and when I called to get it back, it magically disappeared. Therefore I will not stay here again. They do not respect customers property. It the first time something like this happens to me a hotel. It’s sad.

An excellent experience of being able to stay at the hotel and the first class service. The hotel has a privileged location where it allows me to go anywhere in the city in a comfortable way. we will be back soon.

My group and I just had the worst experience with this place. The afternoon staff were rude, disrespectful, withheld info about our accommodations, and actively targeted us with differentiated rule enforcement. I get that there’s a lot of anti-tourist sentiment in PR right now because some mainlanders have been complete jerks. And because of that, I spoke with group about being respectful, following all COVID-related rules, and being good guests. We’d been on the island for 6 days before checking into Caribe Hotel with absolutely no problems whatsoever, until we got here. When we arrived before check-in, they allowed us to store our luggage in a meeting room. However, when we went back later post-check in my group was yelled at for going into the room (with the staff member there) because “we can’t have this many people in the room”. This was after my group was yelled at while quietly waiting against a wall in the lobby while I was getting the room keys, being told, “We cannot have this many people in here! You have to leave!”. On our second night there, we came back into the hotel from dinner and the same staff person yelled at the group for forgetting to do the temp check and hand sanitizing. Again, we had no problem doing it - but the staff person’s tone and volume were as if we had intentionally forgotten to do it. Here’s the thing, though - I personally observed many people not wearing masks in the lobby, doing the temp check and sanitizing, and none of them were yelled at like we were. The kicker was the fact that at no point during our stay, until I called on the second night, was I informed that we were provided free breakfast as part of our stay. I even heard the same staff woman tell others that they did, but she never said anything to me. I checked my reservation, and there’s no mention of it, so I figured that we didn’t get it with our rooms. But we did, and we were never informed. That’s breakfast for 20 people that I didn’t have to buy for them elsewhere. The pool water was dirty and cloudy. The rooms looked like they hadn’t been updated since the 60’s. The location was out in the middle of nowhere. The one star is for the morning staff, who were kind and helpful. I would highly recommend NOT staying here.

I've been staying at this property for many years. The latest remodeling and other property improvements have made this a much more pleasant place. The rooms are comfortable, and the on-site restaurant provides a very good breakfast option. The staff is always friendly and most are bilingual.

The hotel is nice, and the room was nice, but has drawbacks. The hotel does not have an elevator and there is no bellman to assist if you are booked on the second floor. The hotel is rectangular, so it you get a room around 230 ish you are on the opposite side of the hotel (longer walk). The ice machine only works on the second floor. All the rooms with two beds are only double sized, good enough for only one person. Towels, if you book here, ask ahead of time for them to have enough towels in the room. This hotel is not close to anything, you will need transportation if you are going somewhere. The maintenance personnel said for the AC do not put the temp higher than 68 F or the room will start to smell.

This hotel, previously Howard Johnson, Had some updates in the rooms (they changed the windows type and add a small fridge) beds are comfortable clean room, only available rooms with double beds, which I don’t care, everything else remains the same, it is a basic hotel. The staff is friendly, the pool is quite spacious, enough to spend a night or two without having the bustle of the hotel in the downtown. Parking is free and with security. Breakfast is varied I think they should corroborate or improve the booking system and notify customers in detail about the prices and what it includes. For example, I made a reservation through the phone in which clearly included me breakfast. When we arrive the breakfast room, the employee tells us that it was not included in our room price and that we had to pay. She went for a few minutes to the front desk just for turn back and said “its ok” I stayed in this hotel a few weeks before, and I requested the price for a late check out, which it will cost 55 dollars. Now I asked again, and they wanted to charge me 75 !!!!???? for 4 more hours for just using the pool? Too expensive for what we get .

We have stayed at this hotel several times when it was known as the Howard Johnson Hotel and it was alright back then. The new owners have renamed it the Caribe Hotel and are upgrading this facility as I write this review They offer a Breakfast buffet (6:00-9:00am) breakfast is approx $13.50 and Dinner to 9:00pm is from the menu offering a modest selection Also they have a full bar. The pool is outdoors Rooms are comfortable with a small refrigerator inside and rooms have only double beds , no queen or king size available Staff is very friendly and courteous from the front desk, housekeeping and maintenance Parking is free and gated Outside the entry gate is a Kiosk serving traditional Puertorican fare and you can choose to sit under the Kiosk canopy or bring the food to your room. All in all the Caribe Hotel is worth a stay if you want to avoid downtown or the name brand hotels
