This hotel is in a great location on a hilltop so if you are on the east facing side you will get some great views of the sunrise over the bay. The hotel is undergoing a proper renovation so there is a lot of noise and some services are unavailable (e.g. no self-operated laundry facilities). The hotel does provide free laundry with up to six items per day per room but it was not exactly reliable. One day the bag was not sent out (even though all other bags were) and by the time I arrived in the evening (was on our last night in the hotel), nothing could be done, hence the three stars. Were it not for that this would've been a minimum of four stars.
The room we had was by the elevator and had a decent gap under the door. Not ideal but plugging it with some extra towels did the trick, so the hotel did do what they could to acomodate.
Cribs available upon request. Parking on site and free. Pool is expansive but did not use.

Clean room and bed sheets, comfortable bed, nice amenities, house keeping visited everyday. Bathroom floor tile and tub had stains but you could tell it was still thoroughly cleaned. This hotel is very old so I attributed the stains to normal use. Maybe after the reno all rooms will have new tubs and floors. Something I noticed is that the room would smell slightly musty if the a/c was 70 or higher. As mentioned, the Hotel is going through renovations so by 9:30-10am you will hear the construction if you stay during week days. The hotel itself has everything: casino, restaurant/bar, and a pool. We did not visit these amenities but the rest of the guests seem to enjoy them. This is a complete and enjoyable property that I recommend 100%.

We originally booked at Ponce Plaza Hotel (gross) and left same day to book here. What a difference!! They are doing construction so not all rooms are updated. You may want ask for an already renovated room. We had a beautiful balcony view of the pool and ocean. The queen beds were so spacious and comfortable. My brother's room was a King suite which cost more and they originally gave him an outdated room. We immediately let them know he needed a better room and they accommodated him with no problems. His king room was gorgeous and his view was amazing as well. Even the entrance view was so beautiful on top of the hill. My husband went to the casino every night and had a good time. Service was amazing as well.
The only cons would be not all the rooms have been updated yet (But like I said they will accommodate for an updated if requested). They did not do housekeeping room cleaning during our 5 day stay. There is no nightly bar with the casino.

I've stayed at this hotel several times when visiting my family in Puerto Rico. I've always enjoyed it and found the place pleasant. This trip however, the place had really deteriorated.
Maintenance service has diminished. The shower head in our room was terrible, with water spraying over the top of the shower curtain and onto the floor and on the toile seat. There was a huge stain on the bathroom wall and the ceiling looked like someone was spitting coffee at it. The air conditioner in the room leaked soaking the carpet.
What shocked me most was the maid service. Because of COVID (and they literally said this) they only provide new, clean towels every 3 days and they only clean the rooms every 5 days. SERIOUSLY!! You would think during COVID they would clean more, not less. It felt nasty.
Don't stay here. Go someplace clean.

The hotel does not even provide bottled water. The atmosphere is moist and uncomfortable in my room. Faucet handle leaking water. Plug not working. Overall an old hotel.
One great thing is that the front desk is very nice. She gave me great advice about dining.

We picked this hotel hoping it would be pleasing for my wife and I as we spend a long weekend away from New England. This Holiday Inn has met our expectations! Staff is friendly to a person, and accommodating. Our room is top floor, poolside. We have an enchanting view of the Caribbean, even though to actually put our feet in the water requires a 15 minute drive to a clean, scenic City Beach.
There is construction taking place, though our king room is fully remodeled and comfortable - what we expect from a Holiday Inn. The casino is cute and not very crowded
The food situation appears to be in a state of flux. We are offered free breakfast in what looks to be temporary quarters. It is adequate. We had dinner in-house one evening in the same temporary setting. Low on ambience, but our meals were surprisingly delicious!
This property is located atop a hill within walking distance of nothing. If you're a runner be prepared for a fairly steep hill. We are fine with needing a vehicle to enjoy our stay.

This hotel is located on a hill overlooking the ocean on the west side of the city. We liked the view and the setting. Our room was recently renovated with attractive furnishings. It could use a bit more lighting, but it was nice. The pool was closed for renovations, but there's a sweeping view of the coast from the pool area and it should be great when it is updated and reopens. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was perfectly acceptable. This is a good mid price hotel and a solid choice in Ponce.

Casino limits the amount of money you can bet on roulette at 50 dollars. Ridiculous , casino is very small and no alcoholic beverages are served at least nobody in our party had one or saw anyone with one. Save your money and go somewhere else not worth the time.

Fresh out of this hotel, for a staycation / work trip. We booked a doble room trying to cover for a much needed break and spend family time. The place is located up top of a soft hill, offering spectacular views. The pool area has wonderful trees to sit and relax. The staff was very helpful and gave us excellent service. The room was clean and beds were so comfortable along with the nice a/c..hotel has been there a long time so expect this kind of setting. All together smelled and was clean.

This review concerns the Tanama Restaurant inside Holiday Inn Ponce, PR. Food was cold, unsavory and poorly presented as fish was placed literally covering nearly raw and very hard "sauteed" vegetables. My wife ordered a chicken stew which was literally a can of Campbell's chicken soup with rice added. Drinks were served after we had basically finished our meals although they were ordered simultaneously with our food selections. Restaurant was practically empty, despite being a Sunday, as only about three tables were occupied with 2-4 diners each. All in all a terrible dinning experience. Would not recommend and will not return.

They have good amount of rooms. Not a huge hotel. It depends on the season. They also have a meeting room which is good for any reunion. But need to call the hotel.
