We did believe what we saw on the Solace's Web Site but found out is nothing like it. This people capitalize on the name of "el Tuque" which is a famous well known favorite beach in Ponce. The bedroom appears to be in ruins, the shower works like needles on you, there is mold in the bathroom, no dresser, we saw bugs running over the sink, water to the toilet tank stopped at a critical moment, there was no kitchenette as advertised, the bedroom TV is an old '90s model with almost no signal nor sound, the bed pillows had no cushion, their is no restaurant but a cheap area with camping tables and chairs, no signs of maintenance to the surroundings nor the whole building, there were no table/chairs to seat and have coffee, snacks or a meal. The beds were relatively comfortable, the Flat Screen TV in the living area was working well but limited access to two channels only. The fridge worked well. I reported the problems to the front desk and all I receive was a vague look back. We have no intention to repeat our stay at The Solace By the sea.

Rated by American Airlines & Expedia 5 star. Stayed 8days. Two rooms 6 persons. Room door jams so hard must ram to open & close in one of the rooms. Bugs on floor & walls. Both rooms. Window broken covered by cardboard & tape tape. No hot water ever. One local TV channel only available transmitting to watch. Coffee maker in room without cups and coffee present in glandular form, needed to be sealed cup portions. Also no sugar or stirrers in room. Reported 3 times numerous days to front desk. No action taken ever. Finally they charged $156 a night. So what was that about a 5 star rating?

First of all I’d like to start off with letting everyone know that this is not the Ritz Carlton. If you’re looking for that kind of hotel then you need to drastically increase your budget. Secondly, Americans are spoiled so do NOT expect luxuries here like the ones you have at home. Puerto Rico is basic. I can’t believe some of the reviews that I have read on here for this hotel. I didn’t read them until after I booked, which was a mistake. I shouldn’t have read them at all. Some complained about leaves in the pool, no refrigerator, no microwave.....ridiculous things. It’s $100/night. That is AFFORDABLE! Go to Burger King, KFC.....or the restaurants around Parque La Guancha, it’s not too far up the road. It does look “run down” in places, definitely behind it, but PR still hasn’t fully recovered from Hurricane Maria. People should be ashamed for leaving such horrible reviews. Let me add, the staff is great! We loved the pool also. It has nice areas to sit, too. If you aren’t picky and are looking for a decent place to stay for an affordable price, come here. And btw, the rooms are clean!

Read the reviews before booking this place. We didn’t and regret it. This place is dirty, smells, needs update. Pictures in the website are not the real ones, believe me. The allow loud music late at night. No microwave in the room, the TV only has three channels. We paid $135/night and it’s not worth it. Embarrassing for the PR tourists.

I must make clear that my rating has nothing to do with customer service this time, because the employees couldn't be more attentive. They alone deserve a 5 star, but the place is another story. I know everything thing in the area had a bad group of events (2017 huricane, 2020 earthquakes and pandemic) and because of it they shouldn't advertise like everything is perfect. The beds are comfortable, the a/c works great, TV's are big and new (but have problems connecting to the WiFi), and the pool is small but great. But still of the good things there's still a lot of T.L.C. needed in the facility: problems with the bathrooms drainage, lamps without bulbs, bulbs without a cover, the shower leaks; they say you can rent Kayaks, but the hotel don't have a access to the beach (and I'm pretty sure is an unusable one). What I found as the most important fail is the food. I ordered for my family churrasco ($15) and burgers; the churrasco order was a 3oz piece with 3 "tostones", and, the worst part, the burgers' buns tasted and smelled like cigarette smoke. The place is good for a fast and short stay that you're planning to hangout and eat away of the hotel.

Reasonable prices but hotel is working through much needed updates. No personal safe in room, lots of Islanders are tourists at the hotel. They have live music and DJ by the pool, we didn't use the beach near the hotel to comment on that. You can pay about the same and Stay at their sister Hotel Melia in Ponce City Center which is very well kept, great service by the staff and about the exact same rate. Hotel Melia is a hotoric one and near shops, etc.

Small bathroom, the sink was actually outside of the bathroom, they didn't have enough pool towels for the guest and limited options for food. Employees where very very nice, bartenders, maids, front desk. All the people that work there where very nice. The hotel really needs attention. Beach is very near and easy to access. Kayak service was really nice.

Pictures on ad were totally misleading. Hotel room was dirty and lots of things were broken. Pool was dirty. COVID-19 measures were ignored. It had a good location and was near some good attractions but that is as good as it gets.
